Somebody asked this question over on another forum and I thought I'd ask it here:

What is your camping schedule for 2008??!!

Mine is:

January 18 - 21 - Ditto Landing Marina, Huntsville, AL solo

February 15 - 18 - Point Mallard Park, Decatur, AL solo

March 15-18 Supporting Scout Troop Cycling The Chief Ladiga and Silver Comet Trail in Georgia and Alabama, 15th, Stone Mountain Park (or Wal-Mart parking), 16th Rockmart Campground, 17th Boondocking at Piedmont Park

March 21-23 Georgia Tearjerkers at Florence Marina State Park

April 11-13 Bucks Pocket State Park, AL with Scouts and Family

April TBD Lake Guntersville State Park. AL with friends

May 2-4 Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion, NC T@B Rally

May 16-18 Brown County Blowout, Brown County, IN, Hoosier Tearjerkers

June 6-8 Lake Guntersville State Park, AL with Scouts and family

June 20-22nd High Falls State Park, GA, Georgia Tearjerkers

July - None (Recovering from Surgery)

August 6-11 Tearjerkers South Meets North, Virginia

September 19-21 Cloudland Canyon State Park, Georgia Tearjerkers

October 25 - November 1 - Walt Disney World, Ft. Wilderness, T@B Rally

November - TBD - Probably T@B Rally

December 5 - 20 - Walt Disney World, Ft. Wilderness, Mousefest!!

What an awesome thread! We are really brand new to camping--only got to use our new camper 3 times this past fall. Here's our schedule so far:

April 18--April 20: Corning, NY

May 23--May 26: Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach

June 14--June 24: Fort Wilderness, WDW

July--To be determined!!

August 4--August 14: Fort Wilderness, WDW

December 21--December 30: Fort Wilderness, WDW

Hopefully, this thread will give us some ideas of where we can go while we wait for our next trip to Fort Wilderness!!!!

clkelley so what your basically telling us is you don't have anything to do in 2008 right ?

Hey, that's really only 56 nights out of 365 days in a year!!! If I didn't have to stay home some weekends to do things like clean the house and cut the yard, and other boring stuff, we'd go out more often!!! (It's actually cheaper to go camping for a weekend than it is to go to a movie, dinner, and out to the club on Saturday night!!)

the only planned camping trip for us is going to be peninsula state park in door county, wi. in september.

otherwise, camping in the field at our house and who knows where else..

with the fuel prices going up we invite friends over with their campers for the weekends we stay home.

I just got my 5th wheel in December, so I am just starting to make my plans for 2008, but here's what I got so far....

Feb. 15th and 16th- Disney FTW (Completed)

May 2nd and 3rd - Camping in Bradenton, Florida (Holiday Cove)

May 30th and 31st- Disney FTW

Aug. 29th thru Sept 1st- Disney FTW

Nov. 29th and 30th (still need the days upto & prior to Thanksgiving- Disney FTW

Possiably more to come....

We live in Lackawanna County. About 2 hours from Philadelphia. (You're closer to FW!)

May - Oct 2008 - Riverside Campground Store & Stay - YEAH my 20 minute away refuge

October 6th - 12th FTW -Can't Wait!

Wow Carol! It looks like I need to get out more! As of now, we are planning to go to:


Damascus, VA sometime this spring and over Labor day.

Another PA resident here!!! I am in between Altoona and Johnstown!

I will not be at FW this year!

I will however be going to:

Lake Harrison, Ohio, on May 2-4

Prince Gallitzin State Park, PA, for a cabin on Memorial Day.

Bald Eagle State Park, PA June 13-15

Tent camping back at Prince Gallitzin on July 25-27

Black Moshannon State Park, PA August 8-11

Prince Gallitzin State Park, PA for a cabin again on August 22-25

And occassional trip on a whim as they occur within 20 miles of home since we can't afford the gas to go any further!

As of right now we only have one trip...
FW August 18 - 29, also stopping somewhere in VA and GA on the way down.
We may try to get in a quick weekend at a NYS park here and there but DH vacation time is kind of eaten up by the FL trip.

I will be flying down on June 12th, DH, and brother will be leaving here probably around the same time as you. Which route do you take. THey most likely will do 95 and may divert over Chesapeake bay bridge depending on what time they leave. They like to avoid DC at any cost if possible, but if they leave at night, it might not be too bad. If you see a red Nissan truck pulling a R-Vision Bantam Trailight, that would be them. I am sure they will probably leave on the 22nd, but i will stay another couple of days with other brother that we hope will be on the site next door. Make sure everyone has their lime green mickey heads with them.
