So what bothers you at WDW that may not bother anyone else???

I get annoyed at the layout in the Africa section of AK. It has that one entrance/exit over the bridge, and then you're in a dead end. Sure, it's a large area, but there is still just that one way to get in or out. It needs to connect through to somewhere else so there is more than one way to exit. I can't understand why they designed it like that.

I try not to let things bother me at the parks since there's enough for to worry about every other day. I like to try and tune out the rest of the world for a couple of days and live in a happy bubble. If we all spent a little less time being annoyed and spend a little more time just trying to spread joy, I guarantee it'd be a more magical experience for everyone.

Just reminded me of my biggest pet peeve (in or out of WDW)...... Pats fans (or Red Sox fans)

I'm just going to leave my signature pic right here! ;)

Well, though I guess you're not kidding (or ashamed), I'd rather Disney enforce the "no saving tables" rule. It's more fair to those with smaller parties or with small kids who can't be left alone.

Like I said, I don't do this with smaller parties. It's really not that hard to find an empty four top, even during peak season. In my experience, the people grabbing tables are usually large parties. There's only so many tables that can accomodate parties of six or more at any given CS; far less than can accomodate groups of two and four. I can counter that it's not fair that there aren't enough six tops to go around, even though the demand for them is high.

There is a walkway to Asia as well. There are two routes to leave Harambe.

I've never been to WDW but we frequent DL pretty often... Here are my DL pet peeves (probably no different than most WDW ones ;) )

1. When adults in scooters and ECVs let their kids, grandkids, etc. drive!! Ugh this drives me up the wall!:scared: I've been bumped into and had my feet run over one too many times (1 is too many!). I am sure this is against many policies Disney has because it is simply not safe
2. When younger kids, 4-10 years, by themselves insist on cutting ahead of you in line saying "my mom/dad/sister/whatever is up there!" not that they're lying, maybe they are, but your parent, adult with you, etc. really should be with these younger kids all the time!

Also, completely guilty on the saving tables issue. I see no issue with it and have never seen it enforced at DL! I understand the problems people have with it, but it works out pretty well in my family (youngest = 13) and we typically don't travel in groups larger than 4 or 5.

EDIT: picked the wrong smiley! lol!

Yeah, but that is right up at the same place as the bridge to DI so not really an exit from the dead end, just a juncture at the top. I guess I've just several times been stuck down near Kilimanjaro Safari, attempting to get out of Africa, fighting against a crowd that seems to be all headed into Africa.

I'm going to answer this for DH. It bothers him that the streets and path ways are so clean that he can't even find a little stone or pebble to kick. lol

How does the way someone else experience the parks bother you?

For me, I can relax at home. I want to experience as much as possible, so I prefer to commando the parks. That is more enjoyable to me than slowing down.

I don't mind people who commando the parks so much, as those who are so focused on their schedule that they are grumpy and cannot be flexible in what they aren't taking the opportunity to enjoy what is around them. I have seen many examples of family arguments because of this, some in my own family. We once did Disneyland with my DBIL who is an example of this. He spent more time frustrated at us for stopping and enjoying something unexpected when he had a goal he was heading to then enjoying his trip. I have also seen many examples of children who just need to stop and play for a while instead os stand in line again, but the adult in charged was so focused on what they were doing, that the situation resulted in a major meltdown.

Thanks from Baltimore...lol

It appalls me that you think passively aggressively causing someone physical harm on purpose is an acceptable answer to someone doing something you find annoying. I certainly think less, much less of a horrendous, mean and terribly mannered person like you than someone else just trying to get the most out of their experience. That is just sick and I will not be surprised when one day someone slaps you silly for doing stepping on their feet on purpose. Great manners to teach your kids too. And you seem happily justified with it, just wow. That is just really disgusting to me. Please look at your behavior before judging others because you have a lot of room for improvement.

Just for perspective, I would be willing to guarantee every person has done almost every one of the things they so much hate and complain about in this thread, but THEY I am sure have an excuse, like someone pretending they are just filling in space to get to the door first to rush to the ride after the pre show... yeah, keep pretending that is really what you are doing, but we all know the truth. Don't like the clothes someone wears (not shallow or judgmental at all), or BO (really it is 100 degree Florida heat, those things will happen). Getting mad that people don't eat fast enough for you to have a seat, or get a seat on the bus??? That is your own fault for choosing a time to leave or eat when it is seriously crowded. Want a seat, go during off peak times, seats will be readily available then, don't want to make that choice, don't complain, I am paying just as much to have a vacation too and I shouldn't have to cater to your wants. Then getting mad that someone can't get a name right is so unbelievable petty it boggles my mind.

Sure there are some things that bug me, but rarely do I blame people for doing things they probably don't even know is a problem to me. I was taught to look at myself first, and if something bothers me, remember I am in no way perfect and need to just let it go. If people doing, what is seemingly anything from reading this thread, bothers you, maybe going some place filled with them is not the best choice of a vacation for you.
Wow...just wow

Fair enough.

Uhmm... what's with all the "I step on people's feet" or "I run into them on purpose" posts? I get that you are peeved, but how is intentionally hurting someone else making anything better? :crutches: You know what might help? Not being an a$$hole. :teacher: Happiest place on Earth. :earsboy:
I don't think I weigh enough to hurt anyone. You are sooo correct about not being a butt...they should move down like the cast member told them to do.

Granted the person riding the scooter may need assistance and I think that is justified - that's why I stated in my original statement that the person in the scooter should be allowed onto the bus with someone from their party to accompany/assist them. I wouldn't even have an issue if a small family say up to 3-4 additional members joined the family, perhaps I should have made that clear in my comment. HOWEVER - when you have a large group there is no way that each one is needed to assist the one person in a scooter. Wanting to keep a family together or a large group together is ideal for everyone not just those in scooters but sometimes that's not practical or feasible. There have been times where my family of three is traveling with a larger group of family members and sometimes we all can't board the bus at the same time. We keep tabs by mobile phones on where to meet up once everyone is in the agreed upon park or location. Why is considered disheartening to think that a family traveling with a person in a scooter to do the same?

Again, because the scooter guest is usually put on the bus first (and trust me I understand why and have no issue with that because it's for safety reasons) and then the family of the person is loaded on as well. I've been in line waiting for our resort bus to pick us up at the end of a very long day and there have been times where right before the bus arrives the scooter guest and their family show up and they are boarded first. My older sister has lupus and so walking all day in the hot Florida sun is usually to much for her so she rents a scooter for the trip and so we've been a scooter family before but instead of us all standing around her in the scooter loading zone only one will and the other members of our family will file in line accordingly. If there is room for the rest of us then great if not then we will catch up with them back at the resort. For us it's a form of line jumping for all 8-10 additional family members to get on board the bus when everyone else was there before us waiting for God knows how long.

I was at WDW in April and needed a scooter because I am recovering from a severe break in my foot as well as ligament damage. I just want to point out that even though I was in a scooter, I still had to wait in line to get back from the parks (I didn't always have to wait to take the bus from the resort but we went before rope drop every day so there weren't really any lines to "skip). I was not allowed to skip to the front of the line, so everyone with me got the same treatment as everyone else. In addition, they can only fit a maximum 2 scooters/wheelchairs on board so there were a number of times we had to wait for a second bus because there were already 2 on the bus. Finally, if we arrived at the bus stop after they started loading people, even if there was room for my scooter and my party, we had to wait for the next bus because the bus driver wouldn't load the scooter after people had gotten on the bus. So, as you can see, being in a scooter is not a guarantee that someone will get to the front of the line or that their party gets any privileges.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do about keeping a family together with the scooter but it is no different than keeping your family together when you have a large stroller or just have a large group of people. Being in a scooter is not fun. Being in a scooter in a crowded park is miserable - people don't see you; they jump in front of you so you have to quickly put on the brakes; the restrooms aren't really as handicapped accessible as they should be (those new ones in Fantasyland are the worst - try opening those heavy doors while you are in a wheelchair or scooter); people use the handicapped stalls even though there are others they could have used, causing us to wait sometimes long periods of time; trying to shop is impossible; and navigating the streets of MK with all the train tracks and ruts is a hazard. You name it, it is way worse being in a scooter or wheelchair than you can imagine if you haven't had to use one. So, if we sometimes get a break, that's okay. Try showing some kindness to those less fortunate than you. And, feel free to spend a day in a scooter to see what it is really like.

This probably wouldn't bother most. But when I go in a restroom and see a foreigner trying to take a pooky in one of the men's urinals, it kinda irks me. I've tried working on the issue, but I still grimace to this day when I see it happening.

Have you traveled overseas? Have you used a public toilet overseas? Many of the public toilets or even toilets in restaurants or elsewhere either resemble urinals (no seats) or worse. Also, many don't have any doors for privacy. I've been to places where there was just a hole in the floor and to others where there was an attendant who used a bucket of water to flush the toilets. To some people, a urinal is the best thing they have ever seen!

I am dismayed by the proliferation of strollers for older children and scooters. Yes, there are some legitimate reasons for these in SOME cases. A lot, but not all, of this proliferation has come from children not getting the exercise they used to and adults either not getting exercise or being overweight. It's a sign of our society - we aren't as fit as we used to be - at all ages - and that's just sad. Yes - some of its because we as society also now recognize and accept more individuals with disabilities - and that's good. But - a significant portion of the proliferation is because of limitations developed because we don't get enough exercise.
Your rationalizations about the disabled have no basis in fact. You're guessing. Our society is slow as molasses about gaining acceptance of the disabled, and most changes came after our Gov't enacted laws forcing the equal access issue. And that was in 1990, not that long ago. Before that, there weren't scooters at stores. Disabled weren't out and about b/c there weren't ramp cut-outs in the sidewalks. Or access to public transportation and taxis. Or ramps into common buildings. Or handicap bathrooms in common buildings.

One reason why so many disabled are at Disney World is b/c other family vacation places aren't nearly as accessible. Universal Orlando is not nearly so disabled-friendly. Try taking a disabled one to a beautiful Florida beach. WDW has been a marvelous leader in access infrastructure for those who need it. Those families with disabled loved ones have responded with accolades and repeat visits. When you're injured or ill and need a wheelchair or scooter for the long treks around WDW, the ailment is the reason for the wheels, and probably the root cause of increased body weight. Medication for serious and chronic conditions also causes weight gain.

Your concern has been answered: Africa expansion tentatively opening in late May! Expansion of Harambe Village will "cut the corner" between the two paths into/out of the Africa section so you won't be at a literal dead-end. Plus there will be new food offerings.

I don't know that your weight is really the point. Maybe my parents were stricter than others, but I was taught that intentionally trodding on strangers is wrong. I am not a completely horrible person, though, so you have to take what I say with a grain of salt. :teeth:

I'm not sure why getting a table for me and my family ahead of time is a bad thing? Not all of us need to stand in line. Some of us have children or elderly or family members who have a disability who need to be seated. In a chair and a table.

I've always Been the table hunter while husband gathers the food.

This is the silliest pet peeve on here. I'm laughing so hard.

My pet peeves are

Ladies who wear 6 inch high heels and dress like going to a disco.
Long pants in the summer.
Loud talkers on cell phones.
People who stop without notice. (I don't wanna hump you from behind)
People who walk 3 more side by side each other.
Flash photography
Parents who ignore their children
Soarin
People who try to enter an elevator without letting people out of it first.
People who block doorways and entrances.

People who fidget while I'm behind them trying to watch the screen. Even worst when they are a tall and fidget. I once had this tall fidget guy in front of me who kept raising his hands and putting them behind his head like he's a home on the recliner. He kept doing it. Over and over again. Husband switched seats with me. Then annoyed husband. Haha

People who don't pay attention to what is right in front of them as they are walking.

I'm sure I have more. But these are my silly peeves.
