Hubby and I went for our first trip to the Fort 2/24 to 3/3 and just LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! I haven't visited the board because our 'puter crashed but now that it's back up I came to this board and am so sad sitting here looking at the pictures and hearing of everyone's upcoming trips...I WANT TO GO BACK AND I WANT TO GO BACK NOW!!!!!!

Thanks for letting me get that out. I guess it means it's time to start planning the next trip down from CT!

Oh, btw, I met another Disser! We put a big LGMH at our site number post and we met another couple who were riding around on their bikes!

So miss the fort. And the sun. And the warmth. And the flowers. And the relaxing. And the EVERYTHING!!!!

I know what you mean!I'm sitting here in a wonderfull suite wishing!!!! i am only a half mile away from the fort longing to be in my pop -up!camping at the fort!Waking up to the bunny rabbits ,and deer .......The smell of bacon cooking in the airand being greeted by HOWDEE!!!!!!!!!I will say the crowds were un real at animal kingdom yesterday! 92 sunny and hot!But as they say there is no place like home(the fort that is)

We were in the 200 loop...site 225. It was very nice. Wonderful neighbors. We rented a golf cart, I think that's what I miss the most! Heeheeehee!

lol, I miss the golf carts every time I pass a golf course! They are part of what makes Fort Wilderness what it is!

You could always do what hubby and I did last Sept when we went down.... checked into Animal Kingdom Lodge and checked out the next day. We couldn't stand being away from the campground. Went over and checked into ft. Wilderness, stayed in a cabin. OHHHH it was GREAT to be home again!!!
We didn't even have the kids with us... but the cabin / Ft. Wilderness is still our Disney home and there's no where like it!

Hi shawnandjeff!!!!! It was great running into you both at your campsite.

My husband and I were out riding our bikes one day....when all of a sudden we spotted the largest lime green mickey I've ever seen on the back of a golf cart! We did the only thing a true dis'er could do......followed them! Once we caught up to them, we waved our tiny lime green mickeys. Shawn and my husband immediately "focked" eachother!

Glad you guys enjoyed your trip......you certainly gave my husband something to laugh and remember!!!!!

I think as long as your LGMH is small, you'll have no worries:
"when all of a sudden we spotted the largest lime green mickey". I guess size does matter!

THANK YOU My poor hubby is out there freezing getting the dolly hooked up and the bikes put on the MH. It is snowing. Brrr. Yesterday it was 71, the grass is green, trees are budding, flowers starting to bloom...and now snow !! We can't wait to get to FL !!

Reading this thread makes me miss FW soooo much.. .I saw some lime green people when I was there in December (it's hard to miss them when they are in groups )and tried my best to wear, which I thought was lime green shirts.. but I couldn't get the guts to fock them Maybe next time

So after finding out about the whole lime green thing (see other thread) I ran out and got a green vinyl tablecloth. I am going to cut a couple of strips of it to make a bow for my site number post and some bows for the golf cart. If you see us (2 adults, 3 kids) be sure to "fock me" .
