So Much To Celebrate - LIFE and Sophie Kate!

Had a lot of time at Church today-was covering the sign up table for Parish Ministries, so I made sure to pray for all those needing our prayers. Prayed for the young man, and all the Dis friends. Deb

Just had to say that those cupcakes look de-lish and that is an adorable picture of that little munckin.

To Tinkgirl - congrats on your baby boy!

To Memom - Yes I am behind AGAIN. But I absolutely loved your MK update. The park is so awesome first thing in the morning and I can't blame you a bit for playing photographer instead of riding.

Do you know I have never ridden Tomorrowland speedway. I think I need a grandson or daughter before I'll ever take the plunge. Might have to wait awhile for that.

So glad that you got to see Fantasyland and that you got to thank Deb Willis. That's pretty cool.

Gaston - that ham! Really? :rotfl:

I am behind on DIS time, so don't worry about it. I am checking in on reports in bits and pieces. My plan is to put some more pictures up here this afternoon, but we'll see.

We'll loan you Brooklynn or Bella whenever you want a ride on Tomorrowland Speedway. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: Prayers to all who need them! Wishes of comfort and strength in these times of sadness. :grouphug:

CONGRATULATIONS BROOKLYNN ON YOUR GRADUATION!!!

All of the Vero Beach plans sound like so much fun....can't wait for all of the pics...by all means fill up your SD card! We will all be grateful to see them. :thumbsup2

sunnystace I luv those cute Minnie cupcakes and she is just adorable! :cutie:

I can't really think too much about Vero right now, as school and other things have invaded my mind, but we have started a loose itinerary. It's pretty much one thing each day while in Vero, and then our WDW/Kidani time is packed.

Jill said the girls jumped up and down and squealed when they found out they were packing the car from the hotel stay but not leaving. Instead, they were walking over to the same place where the dance recital had been to see Disney on Ice. :cheer2:

I'll say special prayers for the young man - many prayers for his speedy recovery.

Just saw your comment on FB! Yay for opening his eyes and smiling! Hope he keeps showing improvement.

Trent texted that he had opened his eyes while I was at church. I got a FB message from one sister just before noon that he was opening his eyes more. She just posted that now he has squeezed a hand on command, so everyone is elated! :dance3: I guess the big thing now is to see if there was any brain damage - and to pinpoint his issues and FIX them so this doesn't happen again!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. :)

While the others shopped, I checked out Gaston's Tavern.

This is where Gaston jumped into the picture I was trying to get the fountain picture.

Next, we took a voyage under the sea.

On the other side of the wall, construction is still going on on the mine train.

This is such wonderful news! I'm so happy that this family has cause to celebrate this positive sign that "B" is on his way to recovery from this incident.

Marc and I were at my school this morning at 6:30 working away so the everything can go smoothly on Thursday when the room transition takes place. This will happen just after lunch. Our kids leave at 11:25 then we have the rest of the day to get our rooms ready for summer. At 3:25, we are done for the year. I would be so happy to be able to walk out with everyone else.
It's just with this classroom change I've been working every weekend getting ready for it.

At this point, I'll be so relieved to get into the car and leave home behind for a few weeks.

I think everyone is going to have a blast at "Squid Lips" especially what happens after we eat.....:fish:

Going into this amazing queue.

Little blue crab. We were walking straight through with little time to stop and watch.

If you have not had a chance to ride this yet, the ride vehicles are clamshells, like Nemo. I don't seem to have any pictures of them, but we are now at the end of the queue and going through the ride. I believe I gave John the camera, and I took video from this point on.

It is a cute ride, but nothing I feel like I would have to do every time. It was cool to do it that day, though, because it wasn't supposed to be open. :goodvibes

I felt the same way, the ride is fine but not a must do each time, at least not until the newness wears off and the wait dies down a bit.

Great update on Gaston's Tavern and Under the Sea (even caught that picture of the Beauty and Brast dishes I got Des for Christmas). I loved that ride and now is a must do for me...especially since it doesn't give this older woman a headache like Space Mountain.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi friends! I know MeMom knows the news, but I thought I'd share it! We are having a BOY!!!!
Congratulations tinkgurl!!! :cheer2: party:

I knew you were probably sitting outside on a bench somewhere waiting for us to finish shopping. :goodvibes
While the others shopped, out Gaston's Tavern.

Or hanging out in Gaston's Tavern............ :thumbsup2

*******************************************

Yesterday was a busy day. We started out early with a graduation, had lunch at the official celebration restaurant, Red Robin, and had a dance practice (for the big show today) which lasted a few hours. John got rooms at a downtown hotel. Jill, John, Brooklynn, and Sophie stayed there last night, along with John's parents, and Bella and I manned the fort at home. Ben still has to have his lovin' and care. :) Trent and Brandi got here sometime late last night, after we had already gone to sleep. We'll meet the others downtown for the performance later, and then we're having pizza together after the show. Then Bella will stay with the rest of the family, and Trent, Brandi, and I will head back to Nashville. The girls have a special surprise coming tomorrow afternoon that they will enjoy very much. It has a Disney touch to it. :ssst:

We ask that you keep a family friend in your thoughts and prayers today. A young man who was in Drew's class at school through the years and is also the brother of Trent's boss had an adrenal crisis Thursday afternoon. He also had a sister in Trent's class and a sister in Jill's class, so we have grown up with this family. (As a matter of fact, the girl that you just saw a picture of at Trent's football game last weekend is his sister.) Luckily, he was at the office when he went into a seizure, and his brother, sister, Trent, and other doctors were all there to help. He was taken to the hospital and is now in a coma and on a ventilator. He comes from amazing parents - as sweet and helpful as they come - and I know they are all in such shock right now. By all appearances, he is a healthy young man, but some horrible things are going on inside him. He's just 24 years old. Send a few comforting 'vibes' their way, if you are so inclined, and as always, remember to treasure this day with your loved ones and not take it for granted for one minute.

Have a wonderful weekend, DIS friends! Hope it is filled with family, friends, and much fun in your DIStown cul-de-sac. :goodvibes

Redddddd Robin....YUM!!! ;)

Thoughts and prayers being sent for your family friend!

Even though New Fantasyland hasn't grabbed me yet, it looks like they did a really great job theming Gaston's Tavern! The standby queue does look really cool for the Under the Sea ride! :thumbsup2

I am betting I will take many Vero pictures. ::yes:: Vero itself, plus a turtle walk, a zoo, a unique restaurant (John wants to eat at Squid Lips), a pirate dinner....I will need plenty of space on my SD cards.QUOTE]

We're doing the Pirate Dinner as well. I can't wait. What zoo are you going to? I've heard good things about Squid Lips.

He is responding to being asked to squeeze someone's hand, and he has smiled. He is still having seizure activity. They've now done a spinal tap to see what they can find out with that. There has been a HUGE sigh of relief and much rejoicing among everyone today!

You sure do deserve this break!

Squid Lips may end up being a lunch. Whichever - we just want to try it out, since it's something different.

I felt the same way, the ride is fine but not a must do each time, at least not until the newness wears off and the wait dies down a bit.

I didn't have to wait either time, really. That first day, we kept moving, but there were people in front of us. The second time, in March, it was a walk-on. Still, not a must do unless the girls are with me.

I don't care a thing about Space Mountain. I have ridden it several times, but it has been a while. I'm usually the one who sits out with the little ones. I'd like to ride it one time with Brooklynn. We went to do that once, and it was shut down, and we haven't gotten another chance since. I'll do it again sometime, but I'm happier doing Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, or something else 'boring'. ;)

Congratulations tinkgurl!!! :cheer2: party:

They definitely put the work into the queue. ::yes::

The girls think any celebration should be followed by a visit to Red Robin. Bella calls the Statue of Liberty the Red Robin lady. :rotfl:

We have gotten positive news today on B, and we are praying that that continues. He is far from 'out of the woods' at this point, but we'll take anything positive.

We're doing the Pirate Dinner as well. I can't wait. What zoo are you going to? I've heard good things about Squid Lips.

Brevard Zoo. Brooklynn can add another zoo adventure to her already impressive (certainly for a 6 year old) list.

First off, prayers to the families that need them, hurrah for positive signs/news, and congratulations on the various milestones achieved! Whew!! There has been a lot going on in DIS Town and I only went back a few pages!

Love all of the new Fantasyland pictures!! I cannot wait to explore it in October. I remember that story of your picture with Gaston...what a character!! :rotfl:

Busy weekend here so had lots to catch up on.

Sounds like "B" is improving but still will be sending prayers. They need to find out what is going on with him especially if he is still having seizure activity!!

Love the pics of the NFL.:goodvibes Yeah DH & I waited about a half hour for Under the Sea. After the ride DH says "We waited for that"?? :) It was new & glad we rode it but yeah probably not again for a while. I loved the queue though. I think we got a lot of the same pics.

Enjoy your last week!

Good morning! Love the pictures. I do agree that it is not a must do ride. It is cute but I actually like the queue better than the ride. The boys like it. We had a rain soaked weekend that ruined all our plans. No Little League games or golf for us. I am going to be in panic mode this week between work, end of school stuff for the boys, Little League, packing and cleaning house. Have a great day!

I'm glad you got to spend the weekend with your family. It sounds like a fun, busy one.

I was not a huge fan of the new Fantasyland. :faint: I don't really know why. I do think the circus part is REALLY cute.

The Belle merchandise is another story though, I love all of it. My daughter would love to have one (or more) of each. Her dad and I watched Beauty and the Beast on our first date, so I guess it is in her blood. ;) I would love for her to use the music from Beauty and the Beast in her wedding one day but I don't think it would be very nice to her chosen one.

That is great news about "B"....I pray he has a full recovery. :goodvibes

What Disney on Ice show did the girls see? I luv how they squealed with excitement. :)

Oh wow, you are so lucky to be able to eat at Red Robin!
The food is awesome! Haven't been there in awhile since the closest one is 3 hrs away.
We had plans to eat there on Mothers's Day but we were too full from the brunch.
My favorite is the Whisky River Chicken Burger. Yumm!

Lexi has this crazy fascination with the Statue of Liberty.

I'm just now getting over the hump to feeling better after being in bed since Thursday with some cold/flu.
Luckily it's a holiday here today so I don't miss any more work.

I enjoyed your pics of Fantasyland.
I love all the new elements they added and they will all be must do's for us from now on. ::yes::
