I was reading the paper this morning and whilst Orlando was lucky to escape the wrath of Ivan, I have now learned of a new hurricane brewing...Jeanne.

At the moment its only a tropical storm and although its posing an immediate threat to the Bahams and the Virgin Islands the paper reports that Florida is likely to be in its sights next week.

Oh no, whilst all residents in Florida and any other places that have been hit have my sympathy I cannot help but be worried about our trip.

We depart next Thursday (the trip was booked in June 2003) so you imagine how upset we are going to be if Jeanne hits. I was so excited about my single digit dance. We have lived and breathed Disney for the past 15 months.

I should look on the bright side, worse things can happen, but we are so close now and I could not envisage the look on my DD4 face if we had to tell her that our holiday was cancelled.

I know how you feel, we fly out next Thursday as well. Just as you breathe a sign of relief over one hurricane there is another just waiting to take over.

It is upsetting when you consider how much planning and how long the holiday has been booked. Ours isn't just an holiday either, my mom has planned to get married, so she will be absolutely devastated if we have to cancel.

Fingers and everything else crossed that we will all be able to carry on with our holidays, and our thoughts to the residents of Florida.

I can appreciate where these posts are coming from, I have had this holiday planned for a year and the people that I am going with are really unhappy about the possibilty of cancelling the holiday. However we may have little choice. I have not been able to enjoy preparing for the holiday because I have been ceaselessly checking the internet and CNN and FOX for updates. It has certainly not been the relaxing time I would have liked.
However, perhaps we are worrying too soon, there are lots of hurricanes and tropical storms that don't even touch florida. I would like to think as well that statistics favour a couple of hurricane free weeks as well!

Lets hope shall we!
