how does everyone find out about it? I mean like the 1st person. Do you get a special email, call Disney, see a commercial? I am sure that everyone who knows anything will report here so I will be checking daily, but I just wondered how other people find out about the the big "deals"?

Message Boards are -the most- effective way to get Disney code information out there like this ***snap***!!!

Ive been Disney message boarding for 10 years and this is always the way to go....

Keep checking. Someone will post it. I *may* just call April 14th first thing AM....

As for the first person...I'm not sure. I know that other disney board owners frequent the dis, and they somehow hear about it and post it on their own site, then I'm sure they come here to post as well. Maybe they hear it from travel agents? Or maybe they call Disney every morning. I've often wondered the same thing...WHO finds out first and HOW do they do it?

I think one thing that usually happens is that agents get a fax about the new deal first. They start to update their clients and then the clients come and post on the boards.

I remember when the AP rates came out for August last year it was soooo funny, someone came on and said she had got one, I waited holding my breathe, then suddenly there's another post someone had got one, I got all excited and e-mailed my TA ,she already knew but was busy on the line to Disney trying to sort things out .

I THINK we're talking about that (potential) free dining offer that MAY come out sometime next week for sometime late August through sometime late September...perhaps! But this is purely speculation!

would you think they would announce it the same day as last year (April 1)? Do they usually release the same deals every year on the same day? Or do you think since the offer is rumored to be happening later in the month on August that that would push back the annoucement date?

If I remember correctly, last year the rumor was that free dining was going to be starting in mid-April, but on April 1st, it was out.

It was on this board that I found out (and made my ressies from work).
