Congratulations! I'm sure you'll have a great time! We'll arrive soon after you leave.

My big tip when going with kids is to give them a set amount per day for souviners and if you choose, snacks, or maximum amount for the entire trip. Once it's spent, it's gone and there's no getting extra. It REALLY cuts down on the whining for items which is important when each ride conveniently exits into a gift shop. We have done this at DL and WDW and it's truly saved my sanity. We have even started to implement it on non-Disney vacations.

We are heading down there at the same time!! We are from Vancouver, wa and it is our first trip to DLR with the kids also!! We are meeting my sister and her family there, between the two of us their will be 6 adults and 7 kids ages 7 and under. We are both bringing along mother-in-laws to help us with all the kids.

I am super, super excited and have been reading a ton of threads getting ideas and tips! Read all the tips of fastpass, and I'm trying to figure out some good eats on a budget. Also trying to figure out shoes and clothes for that time of year.

I'm praying the weather is nice and the crowds aren't to bad.

I've found that knowing what food is available, where you can get it & how much it costs is a GREAT way to save $ through planning, so, here's a link to the menus of the DLR restaurants: http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

Have fun on your trip! Is this your first trip to DLR ever, or your first family trip?

No I think we are just gonna go I5! its our 1st time driving to CA and we don't want to get to lost, LOL

what do u take?

Take the coast!!! You have time to read a map and figure it out ... It is a great drive!

Did it the wkend before i gave birth!

If its your first time I would stick with I5, especially with kids...its a considerably longer trip and if your kids are like mine, you'll be hearing "How long till were there?" the whole way down....sometimes that can get frustrating! LOL :rotfl:

think we decided we will take I5 down, and on our way home go 101 as we have decided to make some stops along the way.....
