Hello peeps!:goodvibes fellow addicts, whatever!! LOL Well, y'all know I didn't do a PRT this time..just didn't have time and hate to start one if I can't keep up with it...I may do a TR when I get back...not sure! But, I will def post highlights whatever I do! Soooooo...Shelly and Wendy are at disney now!!!:wizard: I leave in :cheer2::yay: 4 DAYS!!!!! :yay::cheer2:

So....my goal for today is total organization! :rotfl: Sounds good right off the bat, before my household is up and stirring,doesnt it?Well...I bought groc yesterday..including stuff for snax and breakfast next week...had my tires rotated and my sub washed,vacuumed and waxed!:cloud9: I looooove my clean car!! Filled up with gas...but will top it off on Fri for sure--our airport is an eternity from here.
Today I am plunging into the :laundy:basket head first! gotta make sure all the shorts are washed...I know my Northern friends are shaking their heads:sad2:, yes we are still wearing shorts and tees here...But, I just checked the weather for our trip. Next week has bumped up to 80 degrees during the day, and up to 60 at night!:cheer2: Which means I might have slight control over DHs garment choices!!! LOL Not really, but at least he wont be compelled to bring a gazillion wintery items..in case of the dreaded....'you NEVER know..'..oh,how I hate that!!! Anyway...my 'duster' comes tomorrow...so while she is attacking dirt/dust from my book cases and trim....we will be putting the finish on :teacher: We are very near the end of that my friends!!!!
Hoping that today is productive in both dpts...:teacher: & :laundy: and since I am commander-in-chief of both...I better eat my wheaties this a.m.
I really wanted all the laundry done today, that way IF I need to run out for any last minute things, I can do it tomorrow when I am out. I plan to stay home all day today and really get finished.
My hubby and my older son(may have already told you this) are doing a play for our youth group at church this week..they had practice last night, tonight, then the play on Wed night...so, my ds has been back and forth quite a bit..he usually is a couple of nights aweek anyway-he does the lights and stuff for the youth dpt on Wed...let me add==== LOVE our youth pastors! Hubby and wife and they are AWESOME!!! Anyway...they really focus, or try to, on what certain abilities and gifts each kids has..they try to work with them and draw them out like that! my ds is a techy...always has been..so this has been tremendous for him....also, he has started helping run the cameras for our Sun service!:worship: Tremendous!!! It's a pretty big church in our area..not a megachurch, but large. It's great at this time of life for him to give him some confidence, and experience...it's definitely been the favor of the Lord...but we are blessed!!! so...anyhoo....while he is not busy till tonight with the play, we have serious schooling. His Spanish class is HARD!! I took it in HS and it was hard then, but he is on a internet course, and geez...weird when you have no actual teacher...he is holding his own, but mercy..they need to reconfigure some stuff!!
So..we really need to get finished with that today..I think that's his hardest class this year.. I had scheduled us to be finished with all our school by this Friday. Next week would be vacation, then Tday. We always take off all of Dec. We don't schedule teacher days, or mini-holidays in our year...so, this is our 18th week of school this semester!!!!!:yay: We have accomplished a lot and they have done really well....it's time for semester break!!!!
I will wash sheets on Thurs afternoon...at least they will be moderately fresh when we leave on Sat morning!! they said they might just want to sleep on a pallet Fri night since they will be so excited anyway!!Whatever!!! No beds to make on Sat morning...at the crack of dawn I might add. Actually, earlier than that!!
So...I only have a few things left to get tomorrow..disposable cameras for the littler two, another memory stick-thingy for my camera *this will be this cameras very FIRST Disney trip!* She was one of my Christmas gifts last year!!! woooo hooooo!!
Kids will need to start charging DS,Ipod,all that stuff tomorrow and start getting the backpack ready!!!!!
Will check in with you girls later and let you know how I am doing in the Land of Laundry!!

Good to see that little guy flipping latkes again! What day is the first day this year?
The first candle is lit on the evening of Dec. 1. Dec. 1 - Dec. 2 is the first day.

Jewish holidays always start at sundown, and run until the following sundown. That's because in the story of creation in Genesis, it reads, "And it was evening and it was morning - the first day" (or some similar translation - it's clear in the Hebrew). Therefore, evening came first, and that's when the Jewish day starts. That's why we light candles for Shabbat on Friday night.

That's cool - I'm always learning something here!!

Shawna - GOOD LUCK!!! Sounds like a lot of stuff to do, but I know you will get it all done. Hope the sickies are all gone from your house!

Love it! I forget about the evening being first....'tis the season!!:yay:
Well..got all the laundry done except the towels! I will do those tonight...then just keep up with what is being worn this week...Thr will be sheets again....
Went thru Gracies closet...wow, after we packed for Disney and took out what didn't fit, she doesn't have much. I had just bought her jeans at Gap the other day when they had the sale, and 3 longsleeve shirts...that's about it for warmth!!
both boys need a few things too..good t-shirts that are not a million years old! I was planning to go to Target tomorrow, grab some last minutes and maybe the mall for the boys a couple of shirts...but,I may go tonight while the guys are at play practice.... Almost finished all of the school work for the younger two:yay: a little math for both of them tomorrow and that's it!!!!! FINALLY!!! Ds14 finally got all caught up from when we were sick last week...he should be on track for tomorrow!! 3 days of work left for him, I know he can't wait!

Heehee!! Some of these threads continue to amaze me. So I was on the community board and posted on a thread about clean bathrooms...seems innocent enough right? Well I just got parenting advice with the remark that there was NO excuse for my kids not to wipe down the bathroom themselves after peeing on the seat, that I should not be cleaning after them. Yes, in my perfect dream world, my kids would clean the seat and bowl each time, and not spit toothpaste on the mirror, but I CAN'T EVEN GET MY HUSBAND TO DO THAT!!! :rotfl:

:laughing: That is why I am very cautious about posting on these boards. Some of the threads are just obnoxious. I just move along past them. The DIS Unplugged threads are usually very nice people, and of course my Snowbirdie friends!!! Now that I'm following a large group of TRs, I get lots of info from them too. I've noticed the DVC threads seem pretty nice so far. I just asked a question on that today and got a quick, nice answer.

Momto2PC~ which is why I stay nestled in my same ole threads!!! People are just so eager to stir things up!! Sorry you got ranted on!.... well...got all my snax, breakfast items, and all but last-minute toiletries packed!:cool1:
My 'duster' comes today!!:love: after we get our :teacher: done for the morning, I am headed to Target...got to get those last few clothing items, disposable cameras,etc...
Should have me and the kids pretty much packed by tomorrow! Which is good--we have 2 dance classes and both boys have a guitar lesson...first class of the day is right before lunch, last one isn't over til a quarter to 8....so...between all the in & out trips to town, school and meals...Thursdays are pretty much killed!:laughing: But... I will find time to squeeze in all my last minute stuff! Hopefully Fri morning will be pedi time for me and dd!!!!
wow...this time thing has really been weird for me this time...I normally get up around 7:30 (a blessing that we homeschool!!! I have NEVER in my life been an earlybird...always a night owl!)...but all week I have been up around 5!:scared1: today it was 10 till!!!!! Geez....well...gets me ready for all that Rope Drop next week, I guess!!!!
Ok...had 2 more disney dreams this week.First...my mom decided to come and she was suddenly at my resort, couldn't get room keys, missed our ADRs and realized that we had been standing in a hallway wasting a couple of days:rolleyes:..Last night, I dreamed something happened with the MVMCP and I couldn't get the days straightened out and it was changed up with times/days...really strange.
well...I only have

:dance3::cheer2::yay: 3 DAYS!!!!:yay::cheer2::dance3:

HA! :lmao:at your crazy Disney dreams Shawna!!

3 DAYS!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Aww, I love Gracie!!! Say Hi to Shelly for us!
Almost there...

:love:Can I repeat my undying love for Target?:love: did find a couple of shorts for Gracie on sale, and some plain t-s for under $4!!!! I also found her a pair of boots at the mall and got a little sweater dress on sale...at Target, I got her a few pair of fleecey/warmup pants and tops for when we get home..poor thing....she was almost out of clothes!! So, if we get back and it's really cool, she has some stuff now...I was going to wait for boots, but last year I waited til after Tday and couldn't find anything....finally got the last pair in her size at Gap after we walked the entire mall.....so...got Kipp some new Ts.....a few more tiny toiletries and am washing her new stuff to pack. The little two are officially finished with:teacher: :yay::yay:
Ds14 has tomorrows work, and a few Tests on Friday morning...then we are DONE!!!!
bout to head out to see Mike in our play...and of course watch my kid run the lights/equipment~!!! AAAhhhh... I am blessed!!! Hope you are all enjoying Hump Day!!!! 48 hours from now I will be packed and getting ready for bed....trying my hardest to trick us all into going to sleep early!!!:wizard:

Ok Birdies, I need some help from the Experts!

So our trip in Dec we are going with a family that has never been. (super excited!!) So for this Christmas my mother and I decided we wanted to make a little "gift basket" of Disney stuff for them, to get them pumped (even more) about the trip. Now we don't want to go over board, seeing as how we do still have over a year before we go and we don't ever do anything major for gift exchanges (usually I hang out with the girls for a day - movie dinner and get them a couple books)

So here's where I need some help. What would be something cute and fun...and of course rather inexpensive? I thought about making little "coupons" for the girls like "this is good for one $20 gift at a Park of your choice". We also did the customized maps and plan to give those to them. Any other ideas? I'm stuck....

Thanks!!

How old are the people going, are there little ones? What about a pack of glow necklaces for the evening fireworks, ponchos (the cheap dollar ones), "coupons" for popcorn:: or :mickeybar...hmmm, I'll try to think of some other things! What a fun idea!!

At the time of the trip, the youngest will be in 7th grade and the oldest will be a Senior in High School, then the parents well... probably don't need to mention ages for them :rotfl: ( but the father is the biggest kid ever!!)

So no "little" kids, but we all know how to have fun and act like kids...:rolleyes1

Happy Veteran's Day! I know we have a couple here on the boards....so Thank You! And to those families too....Thank you for being the support on the home front!

Happy Late Veterans day to all who are on here!! I meant to post yesterday but it was so crazy here! Well.....

:cheer2::dance3::yay::yay: 1 DAY!!! :yay::yay::dance3::cheer2:

Working on packing the rest of the clothes...washing sheets....cleaning out the fridge....can do boarding passes/airline check-in today!!! Gotta make sure how many suitcases we are using...since it's gonna be around 80 most of the trip, the clothes will all be for warmer weather..only bringing a pr of jeans for each of us and a jacket....So...between Mikes big suitcase, and the big one for each of the boys, I won't need a suitcase to myself!!!:yay: Gracie is just bringing a carry-on VB bag! It is soooo cute!!! And her clothes will be in the ziplock bags anyway...all organized:love: She and I are so excited about that!! LOL...after lunch we will go drop Annie off at the Dogsitter.... will try to get on here to say bye to you all later this evening before we hit the hay!!

HAVE A MAGICAL TRIP SHAWNA!!!! :cheer2: I will be thinking of you all week!
Especially since it's going to be cold and wintery here now!!

party::mickeyjum

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't had much time to DIS lately. Some weeks I have more downtime than others depending on what mood the kids are in at naptime LOL. It's Friday and they are giving me a well needed break today :cloud9: and I'm using the time wisely...listening to the DIS radio, dreaming of Disney and saying hello to all of my internet friends. :goodvibes

My Disney dreams for November aren't looking too promising. I just found out that one my families is expecting baby #3 and her other two that are full time with me will be dropping to part time for the summer while she's on maternity. It stinks because I always lose 3 other kids every summer because they are teacher kids. So that leaves me down 5 kids with one full timer left for the summer! Talk about a hit to the wallet!!!! :scared: At least I know now and we can prepare for it but that more than likely means there won't be much extra money to add to my Disney fund. :sad2: I'm not giving up hope or taking my ticker down though!
