A question-

If Cinderella already has a castle, what do you think they will do for Cinderella-land? It almost looks like they are building another castle.

Sarah~ Glad you are getting stuff in line for your surgery!! it'll be over before you know it!! You are going to have such a good time at Disney!!!! I love seeing all that fall decor over there!!!

Jen~ 24 #s is wonderful!! I can't get 5!!!!!! Yes...post pics!!! and I love, love, love your new avatar!!!

Soleil~ I was wondering if they were gonna work on it while you were on vacation!:rotfl: That's great that you can do it after you get home from vacation. Less stress that way....as far as teen girl gifts....Mall Gift Certificates!!!!! I know the girls here all shop at Forever XXI. We just got it and they are crazy about it. You have so much going on....I think GCs are the way to go! Unless they are all 'into' something special. Maybe you should go ahead and email their moms and ask if they have any suggestions!

Ya'll come on my Christmas thread and talk gifts and lists with us!! Wendy..you too!!! Post that list over there!!! I did actually start this weekend! I usually do it all in one day, but haven't had that much time yet...so I am aiming for a couple of weekends to knock it out. Gotta wait till Mike can watch the kids!! Gracie is getting more American Girl stuff, so hers will be easy!

Anybody get the TSMM game for Wii today? It's suppose to be out as of today....or so said the Game Stop guy! I am probably getting them a Wii for the big gift this year....anyone want to tell me what I HAVE to buy for the initial set up? We have seen several on ebay...but i am leary of buying one there. If it was reallllllly cheap, I may go ahead and get it , but would hate to buy one and it be fried!!!!!:scared1:

I thought the same thing. I think they should scrap her and do Snow White!! She was, after all, the first one they did!!! And all she has is that little ride---and so many kids are scared of it. Cindy already has a HUGE castle, a restaurant, and a Carousel!!!

Jen -- Congrats on the weight loss!!! That's fantastic. Last time I was at the doctor I had lost 5 pounds (don't know where - I think it was in the shoes I took off before being weighed-in :lmao:). Anyhoo....doc looked at me and said "That's great. Now I want to see 20 more." Are you kidding me?! So - definately congrats!

Soleil -- Talk about a stressful time for you! YIKES. I would also recommend gift certificates for the teens. We've always (I say we...but mean I) try to shop clearance stuff for the nieces/nephews so I can get them cool, hip stuff at a reasonable price (because I'm sooo cool and hip!). This year DH said it's getting too tough and we're just doing gift cards.

Shawna - We're getting a Wii for the family gift this year, too. DH saw that TSMM game in the ad and about flipped! I guess that's going to be a must have! :thumbsup2 Of course, then he asked how they were going to make it shoot water out. :rotfl2: What a doof. We've bought the main game "hardware". Now we need a few more remotes and a few games. We're also buying the Wii Fit. We got our main hardware at Meijer (like Walmart). They had 2, so I figured I'd better snatch it up. We're trying to stagger the spending on it, since we know we want to have a few games to go along with it and didn't want to chance not being able to get the main unit.

I read about the Fantasyland expansion and refurb of Star Tours in my Sunday paper. I was wondering when the announcement would get out to everyone. I think the pictures look amazing and I can't wait to see it in person. I'm sure that Madison will be like me and always love the princesses, so we'll be checking that new area out for sure.

I heard that for Star Tours, they're going to be adding a pod racing sequence from Episode One. I think that will be awesome! That ride has been around for so long and has never changed.

Awww thanks I love my new avatar too...my friend Leslie found it for me and helped me mess with it so I could use it YAY!!!

OOOH I guess I'd better get on the ball thinking about Christmas! I might have to come visit your thread so I can get some ideas!!

Has everyone seen this yet??? :cloud9:

Trying to keep up with Harry Potter ;)

I was going to post about that on this thread, but I was too busy reading the other threads.
I LOVE it! I'm so excited about the renovations.
I also think it's great that it seems like the Train is going to be arriving in the Dumbo part it just fits soo well. I wonder if they'll play the Dumbo Circus Train music?

I hope I have some granddaughters one day.... then I won't look so silly spending tons of time in the new Fantasyland expansion!!!

I hope I have daughters, or at least nieces...though I think I'll spend time there anyways. I really like the new restaurant ideas, and I think DH is happy for a masculine restaurant if they actually do "Gaston's Tavern"

January is going to be a very exciting month for the Shopaholic Family!

That will be exciting! You'll have something to look forward to after your trip, so maybe you won't be as sad when you have to leave.

I didn't know about the TSMM game. I might have to get that for my parents' house for Christmas.

I heard that for Star Tours, they're going to be adding a pod racing sequence from Episode One. I think that will be awesome! That ride has been around for so long and has never changed.

DH saw the news about the renovations first (I know... crazy!) and he saw that they were doing Star Tours, and was really excited. He was really disappointed, and motion sick from that ride in January.

So...DH got his orders today, finally! He starts training in March, so not quite as soon as we had hoped, but it still works. Also, because it's within 6 months of now, he can start Gold Bar Recruiting for the Army pretty much whenever he wants. It will pay more, but I told him its his choice whether he wants to keep his current job as a Para at the High School or switch. I think he wants to switch... those kids are really wearing him out. I feel bad, because I know they have a hard time finding good Paras, but I also know how exhausted he's been lately.
Either way I think it definitely means that we'll get to do Disney in December. He'll have to take off the time from either job, but just knowing his orders makes me feel more stable!

He was worried that I'd be upset, because they weren't sooner, but I'm just happy that he got Active Duty, and the Branch (Job) he wanted.

I think I need to go ahead and get the Wii itself--Wal-Mart always has them.. it'll be getting over there without any of my kids!!!! Someone always goes with mamma!!!! I really want the TSMM game! I know I will need remotes...how many do you get? One for each kid? We don't want any more arguing over who can and can't play this thing:sad2: So, I am thinking 3 remotes...do they give you one when you buy the main unit, or are you on your own with that? And, I would like to get each kid at least one or two games....of course, the ones I have looked at all look soooooo cool!! How am I ever gonna choose!!!! Wow! I can see $$$$ already! Ha!! :3dglasses So, what games are your kids getting for it?

It should come with one remote, but I'm not sure if that remote will have a nunchuk with it. Some games require that you have the nunchuk to play it. If you want all 3 kids to have their own remote, you'll have to buy 3 extra controlers and 4 nunchuks. Honestly if you want to buy mutliple games at once, if you have a Game Stop in your area, I would go there. They might even have a Wii in stock for you to buy. IMHO it's the best place to buy games, especially if you are buying them with out the kids picking them. You can buy used games for the Wii for around $15-19. We have bought their used games for years, and have only had a problem with one game. We were able to take it back and had no problem exchanging it for one that worked. Also you can sell games to them that you don't want anymore. I think you need the box and booklet to do this though.

Hey Kim~ yeah, we have several Game Stops here! I need to ask how long the return policy is good for! If it's like 90 days, or whatever, I will have to wait till October....don't want to buy something early and be stuck with it if it's messed up! didn't think about buying any stuff from them!! thanks!

There's just the 3 of us in our family, so we'll be buying 2 extra remotes. I think it comes with the numchuck, but now I'm going to have to go home and check!

My sister & brother-in-law gave us good advise - rent the games first from the movie store to decide if you like them or not. I know there are a few games we definately want right away - TSMM being one and the other being Mario Cart. But, I think after that we'll try before we buy. Of course, with Mario Cart we need to buy the steering wheels. :lmao: Yup....I'm with you....I'm seeing $$$$$ which is why we started early! :thumbsup2 I was able to sneak to Meijer to get ours only because DS plays soccer and DH is a coach. I went during practice one night.

All this talk about the Wii makes me think I should head out and get one LOL!!!!! They sound like a lot of fun!

I have done Wii bowling and that is about it!! I loved it and thought it was a great game. I might have to talk to Prince P and see if we can't agree to "get" that for each other for Christmas. I think it would be a fun addition to our household LOL!

I just got back from Game Stop and got my Toy Story Mania Wii game. I guess DH had told the boys if they were good this week, they would get a new Wii game this Friday. Well as soon as I got into the car, he said "well the boys can't play until Friday b/c that's when I told them they could get a new game." I was like "umm I don't think so. This is MY game, and I will let them play it, but it stays with me by my computer."

Well I waited until the boys got home to play the TSM Wii game. It is so much fun!!! I swear I'm not going to get any schoolwork done b/c I can see me getting obsessed. I haven't been back to WDW since the TSMM ride opened, but if it's anything as fun as this, we will have to ride it several times.

My husband LOVED TSMM the ride and we had no idea the game was coming out until you ladies were talking about it here!

We'll probably buy it in a few weeks... can you tell me how "active" it is? Like, with my upcoming surgery/non-weight bearing for six weeks, is it a game I'll be able to play?

I am all checked in for my flight tomorrow!!!:banana::banana:

I AM GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! HOLY COW! DISNEY WORLD HERE I COME!!!

Between the last minute trip to Atlanta and the plague one of our faculty members gave me, I'd forgotten to be excited. Oh sure, I've been puttering around, packing stuff, but OMG DISNEY!

Speaking of last minute, I typically only pack exactly what I need (there are washers and dryers, I figure)... but with the heat, do you think packing maybe one extra shirt is a good idea? Like, if we end up back at the room in the afternoon, would I want to change in to something clean/non-sweaty?

I stayed home from work today, because I'm sick, and I got an extra three (!!!) hours sleep in. My friend (that I'm going to Disney with) suggested I get Mucinex when I complained about chest congestion. I was surprised at how well it worked - it really took away the feeling that there was a ball lodged in my chest. Last time she and I went, I was sick, too. She's probably going to develop a complex!

I put on my post-op brace last night and then tried on the pants I'd purchased to wear over it (thanks to Mommy1AE for her suggestions on where to get them!). Luckily, it works, so I don't have to worry about it... but, um, that sucker is huge. I think I should probably go find another few night shirts to wear for the first couple of weeks!

But.... DISNEY WORLD! DISNEY WORLD! DISNEY WORLD!!!!

(My friend and I were joking that we have no plans, beyond dinner, for our trip... and margaritas/grey goose slushies.:drinking1 ... okay, and a breakfast at the counter service at the Polynesian for Tonga Toast) (apparently all our plans revolve around food... I even added to our California Grill reservation that we are celebrating her birthday!)

(yeeeaaaahhhhh Disney!!!)
