Hey all, just checking in!
Soleil~sorry to hear about all of your problems with the house. I hope things go smoothly from here on out!
SaraH~you're probably on your way, can't wait to hear about your trip.
Shawna~were you trying to give Soleil the poop-filled lot by you?:rotfl:

Can't wait to get the TSM Wii game. It will definately be on the Christmas list. I hope they have some available by then!! The kids got the Star Wars Lego game and they absolutely love it! I think I'll get Drew that for his DS for Christmas too! I probably need to start shopping now and buy a little at a time. IT's amazing how much more expensive their toys get as they get older.
I know it's terrible, but I"m thinking about getting Keaton a DS. I know he's only 3, but I'm SO TIRED of hearing the screaming from him because he wants to play Drew's. We have some neighbors that their kids are getting older and wanting I-phones and other more higher tech electronics, so I'm hoping maybe one of them will want to sell their DS cheap to me! I refuse to pay $120 or whatever they are for a 3 yr old. Am I crazy for even thinking about getting him one??

Yeah, it looks like the closest Game Stop to Belgium is Düsseldorf, Germany. I wonder if their website ships internationally? Depending on what they charge for shipping, it may work for you. They even have their "pre-owned" games on-line.

Ooh, thanks for checking! I didn't even think to look for them online. We have a US mailing address, so that makes it easier. (though not all companies will ship to an APO address--has to be USPS, no UPS or other shipper) I'll check that out! :thumbsup2

Np. I actually had their website pulled up looking for a game for the boys.

Good morning everyone! Just checking in before the day gets hectic :goodvibes

It's FRIDAY and this week that's almost as good as going to Disney for me!

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

I'm taking the kids to Barnes and Noble tomorrow morning. They're having a special "Where the Wild Things Are" storytime and one of the characters will be there for a meet and greet. I'm just hoping the "wild thing" isn't too scary for the kids!
After that we're going to the movies to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. :yay:

YES!! How did you know?:rotfl: Too funny!! And I will have you know she is stillllll doing it! Yesterday when I was outside she took him to 3 of the 4 lots to poop. My neighbor told me last night that they were out in their garage a couple of nights ago and the lady didn't see her...well, her SIL was next door talking to someone and as she is letting the dog poop in the lot across the street, he hollers something to her. My neighbor C, said the dog lady replies, "Yeah, and when he's done I am taking him BACK down there (to the lot next to me) and let him go AGAIN!" At this point she looks up and sees C is watching her. She kinda gave a grin like, Oh, didn't know you heard that. Well, C said, I just looked at her and shook my head...she's such an idiot. WHY don't you bag up that poop and put it on her front porch? Ha!!!!
I just don't know why people have to be so antagonistic. She is in her 50s, nice house, stays at home and keeps her grandbabies, lives about 5 houses down from them, and we have a nice little neighborhood. We have all been very nice to her, patient with her dog(until now)...she is just misereable. My other friend that lives across the street from her...T, we'll call her.......really has issues with the dog lady's CAT!!!!! Yes, she has a cat that's a nuisance as well. The cat poops right at her front entryway!!! GEEZ!!!! And, they leave their garage door open most of the time (T and her husband) and that cat will crawl up on it while it's open then jump down on their cars....leaving cat prints alllll over it. She said, I hope that house sells soon.....I am gonna flip if I see cat crap at my front door one more time!!!

Well, got my front flower beds finished yesterday! Some new plants...need a couple more, but they are out of what I wanted... all remulched and weeded!!! Now I gotta do the back :faint: dh is gotta help with that one!! I need a truck load of mulch and he is gonna have to be reaaaaally sweet and haul it back there! I wanted to do that tomorrow... but I dont know if we are gonna get it done...lookin' kinda cloudy again today!!!
Kim....how fun!! I love that book...I am sure the movie is gonna be awesome! My older one wants to see the meatballs movie...I don't know if I can hang with it!!!!!

Shawna I can't believe you're still dealing with your poopy neighbor. You have WAY more patience than I do. I'm glad you're taking the high road though- sometimes it's hard to be the better person. I don't know if I could do it.

Perhaps she's one of the people over on the scrapbook forum. If not, she would fit right in :headache: It's gotten so snarky and out of hand over there. They've turned it into a war between digital scrappers vs. traditional scrappers. I'm not a fan of the high school drama- haven't been in a high school in about 14 years and don't care for it. Absolutely ridiculous for grown adults. I've put my 2 cents in but have done so in a respectful manner- some others not so much and at this point it's not worth voicing my opinion. It's not heard over the childish posters. I'm so glad to have the safe haven of the Snowbirds thread :cloud9: Sometimes the rest of the DIS is not so nice. I guess people are braver when they're behind a computer screen.

Well, Mike has said he doesn't care if the dog poops in those other 3 lots...I just HATE that she is letting poop over in this one...since all the kids play there...when it's nice weather. If he was ticked, it would be harder!! I know most of the time when she is doing it, I can't see her!!! My last house the breakfast room and living room were all open to the front...so I saw everybody that passed...here the front is kid's windows and front door...which is solid!!! That helps...now if we are in the kids rooms, we see it...What really bugs me is her hateful malicious attitude. God is trying to teach me something...maybe tolerance and patience:confused3 Hopefully I will learn it soon, so He will sell her house!!!!!!:rotfl:
I agree about people on computers acting this way...where else can you be a total jerk and never have to face anybody? I mainly just stay on our threads....I hate reading that stuff...it just makes me angry....and you really can't do anything about it..so I just act like it isn't there!!:cutie: Kinda like an ostrich, ya know?

OMG, I had no idea that movie was coming out this weekend. We'll have to try and make it to it.
Saturday I have English class from 1-5. I still have to write my 1,000 word essay to turn in. Then on Sunday my sister wants me to go with her to a doctor apt that she said she has to leave her house at 10 am for. All I know is that it isn't an eye doctor apt, and she's not telling me anymore. I just find it really strange that she is doing going to see a doctor on a Sunday morning. For now, I'll just be the supportive big sis, and know that she will tell me more when and if she wants to. Then after my g-mom wants to take us and out parents out to lunch. When we are done with the parents and g-mom, we are headed back to my sis' house for a night of watching WE tv.

Oh, I don't know. How does he do when he DOES get to play with his brother's? We started out with a v-smile. It was okay. If he can handle the games on the DS, I don't see why not. I'd think the biggest concern would be it getting dropped. JM2C.

Since he is so young, have you thought about getting him a refurb'd one? I looked at the Game Stop website and they have the a refurb'd normal DS for $69.99 and a refurb'd DS lite for $99.99. Both of my boys are always asking us for a cell phone. Even some of the elemetary kids my youngest goes to school with has them. It got worse after my nephew who just turned 8 got one. However he rides the bus home and would be home for several hours by himself. I did try to pick him up and bring him to my house b/c I don't like him being at his apartment by himself at such a young age. However, him and my boys get out of school at the same time and goes to different schools in a different district. I was really late everyday to pick him up, and the school dinally said that I was "either there on time or he had to find another way to get home." I know some of them call their parents as their walking home. My boys want an iPhone, but I keep telling them they can have one just like when I got my first one. That was when I was able to pay for it myself. Of course I didn't tell them that technically it was tax return money, but they don't need to know that.

We are driving into Syracuse tonight. Madison has an Irish dancing competition there tomorrow. Even though it's only 2 hours away, it's like a mini vacation for us. Our weeks are so crazy with school, grad school for my DH, dance for me, dance and swimming lessons for Madison....it will be nice to spend time with just the 3 of us. Madison is usually done dancing pretty quickly so on the way home, we'll be stopping at an outlet mall that I haven't been to in years! I love retail therapy!

Did anyone see that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 is coming to theaters as a double feature in 3-D! It's only going to be out for 2 weeks!

Wendy- no laughing here! Your cakes look beautiful! You should see some of mine- now that's something to laugh at! :laughing:I've never tried fondant. Is it difficult to make?

Have you thought about a Leapster. We got one for DS for his 3rd bday and he still loves it. It's lasted being dropped more times than I can count and the games are pretty reasonable in price and educational. Shhh don't tell him that though- he just thinks they're fun!

DS saw the commercial for TS 3D and was so excited! We won't be missing it! :woohoo:
I think anyone who is disciplined enough to scrapbook at all deserves my respect. I've never been able to get started no matter how much I try.
It's not hard once you get started but it's not for everyone. My sister has no interest in it but instead loves to crosstitch. I have no patience for crosstitching but love to scrapbook. To each his own I guess!
