I'm going to see Wicked in Kansas City on November 20th!

My Mom bought tickets today, and she bought one for me. I'm very excited, and Logan's excited because he doesn't have to come.
Congrats!! I've been wanting to see that. Hopefully now that my sis is back in Texas, we can go to things like that when they come through DFW.

Logan agreed to let me book for December! I told him that it's entirely refundable until October 27th, so we'll have plenty of time to decide if we really want to go, but I needed a reservation to get all the ADRs we want.

So I am now officially booked at Pop Century for December 11-17th!

Now I'm really dealing with the ADR dilemma, because my day is tomorrow.
I'm going to try to get up and get online at 5am, and do Le Cellier first. Hopefully I'll be able to get an ADR on his birthday, but I'm pretty open to take whatever they'll give me.
Then I'm definitely getting an ADR for Ohana, because it's the other place I really want to eat, and seems to fill up quickly.
Then Hoopdeedoo, I'm not so worried about this one, because I've been finding quite a bit of availability for the 9:30 show, which is the one I want to do, because it's the only one we can get category 1 seating on the Dining Plan.
I still haven't figured out what I want to do for the other 2 ADRs, but since I don't have my heart set on anywhere else, I'm not too worried about getting ADRs, especially since I've decided not to do any character meals this time, (I figure I'll only torture Logan when we have kids) and I don't really want to do another 2 TS meal.

I guess I'll spend today perusing menus...
Congrats on the December trip!! I still want to do a December trip sometime, but would love to go when Edward James Olmos is doing the CP.

Oh, girl!! I am sooooo sorry you are going through all this!! Since we are in the 'business' and this is what we do for a living..... Number 1, Mike meets our prospective clients and they usually go over house plans first day. If they have their own they bring them, if not they tell him what they are looking for...and what they can spend, etc.
After the plans are finished or they show him their plans, he works on the bid. He usually takes his time...you dont want to underbid and have $$ trouble later. He takes a couple of days if he is really busy on other houses...not as long as your builder!! Anyway, then they meet again...talk about price, what allowances that is for EVERYTHING. Appliances, flooring, electrical....what they can spend on all of it. If for ex. he says: For flooring, this is the place I use, you can spend up to $3 a square foot on your tile. IF you go over that, the extra comes out of your pocket...when the flooring is ordered/done--whatever. You know when you leave with him how much your house is going to cost.Period. (Unless thoughout the job you change your mind..then you talk about prices for change orders and extras for upgrades, like appliances, fixtures, etc.)
I am shocked it's been 3 months and nothing is done. You should be halfway through your building by now. We are usually done around 4 months...depending on square footage...and your house is about the size everyone is building around here. This is ridiculous....he's buying time. don't use him! Definitely pray about it.....but I would be very leery of him. Do you know anyone that has used a builder they would refer you to? You need to see some of a builders work and talk to some customers! And the first girl you talked to about financing is nuts!! We refer people to our finance companies all the time and our clients love them!! She didn't need to act like that. And---if he referred her, I think that shows poorly on his character as well!!! Building a house should be a wonderful experience....not a nightmare!!!
yes, you have a right to be angry. He is un-professional and giving you unfair treatment!! Is he just tooooo busy? I would let this be a sign that the Lord is holding you back for a reason.Just drop it and go find someone else. Be thankful that this isn't happening halfway through the project and you are stuck with him and he's adding costs at every turn! I don't want to scare you, just let you know that some builders are not worth using. Keep me posted..pm me if you have specific questions. Hey, move over here and we can build you a house right down the street from me!!!!:rotfl:

I totally agree with Shawna. I would take all these problems as a sign that he is not the builder for you Soliel. I'm a big believer that God tosses little pebbles at you and if you ignore them finally tosses a big boulder on your head to get your attention. Maybe those are your little pebbles that you need to find a different builder.
My DH's parents got stuck with a bad builder. The house they bought was halfway through being built when they bought it. The person had backed out halfway through it being build, which should have been a sign to them. Once they moved into the house, things they promised would get done didn't. They had huge holes in their walls in certain room where this expensive intercom system was supposed to go. It was included in the coast of the house. Finally after several years my father in law, not the building filled in the holes. He had found out that the builder put the intercom system in his son's house down the road. My father in law was also in a house fixing an appliance at a home down the road from him, built by the same builder. My FIL was puzzled when he entered the home and it had a fireplace b/c there was no chimney. Yeah the builder had forgotten to build the chimney. I could go on about the problems they had, but I won't.

I went to my first English class this weekend. My professor is great!! She just doesn't teach from reading from the book, but from her life experience in writing papers. She is really funny, and made the time fly in class (which is 4 hours long.) The only thing I hated was that it was raining cat and dogs. We needed the rain, but I hated walking from the car to the buildling with my computer. We had to write an "observing" essay do by the end of class. I, of course, wrote mine on WDW, well Main Street to be more exact.

Oh Wookie! Your poor in laws!! Have heard of these kind of things!!It's sad that people get away with stuff like that.
Girl, if you can write all your papers on WDW...you got it made!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the prayers and advice. The builder called G yesterday while I was trying to nap. (I got 3 hours of sleep on Friday due to stress- not the mention my face is totally broken out.:scared1:) They had a good talk. G was pretty firm on some things. I think he's getting nervous about losing our business, since he just lost J&A's so he's willing to work with us on some cost to get it to where we want it. G is meeting with him tomorrow to figure it all out. Please pray for wisdom on G's part.

I hope everything works out, and G is more level headed than my DH. Logan is getting better, but he really doesn't like it when people cause problems for him.

So today we woke up, got all ready for church, and the truck wouldn't start! What a lovely way to start to the day (well... church isn't until 1pm, so we had already been up, but still!). We have no idea what's wrong with it, but tomorrow Logan is going to take the battery and have it checked. We're really hoping it's something he can fix himself, because otherwise we'll have to get it towed somewhere, and I'm really not looking forward to that.
My Dad seems to think that it's done this before and will just start eventually. We pushed it across the parking lot tonight, so Logan could access the hood easier, and when we opened the door the lights came on, which didn't happen this morning, but then 30 seconds later they went back off, so it might just be the wiring...
Hopefully the problem will be solved soon...

I'm sure he'll do wonderful and get you a great deal. Just think of it this way, he was wise enough to marry you.
I get the same way when I'm stressed. I once went 5 days with maybe a total of 6 hours of sleep. Then I went shopping with my mom at a fabric wholesaler for a few hours. I swear after that I almost slept for 24 hours, but that's how I get when stressed. While what ever is going on that stresses me, I can't sleep. Then when it's all over I just fall in bed and sleep a long time.

Praying for wisdom and patience for both of you :goodvibes I hope the stress is lifted soon  This too shall pass.

Hope you get your truck up and running soon...and that it's something minor wrong with it!

Has everyone seen this yet??? :cloud9:

Trying to keep up with Harry Potter ;)

I hadn't seen that that. I had to pause it to smack my DH for 1. teasing me for tearing up at it and 2. complaining that it was all about stupid princesses and Disney has more that enough of that and they need to expand stuff for boys instead of shoving more princess stuff down our throats.

I hope I have some granddaughters one day.... then I won't look so silly spending tons of time in the new Fantasyland expansion!!!

I am so excited about the Fantasyland expansion. It looks incredible. Too bad it doesn't open until Belle is 6. Although 6 is still a great age! I just wish we could dine at 'Be Our Guest' while she is totally mesmerized by Beauty and the Beast.

House News- We took our bids to the bank and they feel like we could close on our interim (sp?) loan on Friday. Then we can begin to build.

Soleil, I'm glad you are finally moving forward on all this house stuff :goodvibes

I can't wait for the Fantasyland expansion either. My Em was so excited to see Ariel and Beauty and the Beast. I hope it's done while she's still young enough to enjoy it and young enough so that I have an excuse to be there too!

Soleil... great news about the house!!

Don't worry about Belle being to "old" for Beauty and the Beat... My Maggie is almost 20 and thinks she is Belle!!!!!:)

OOOOHHHHHH!! I am sooo excited! Glad they are amping up Dumbo!! Make that line shorter!!!! We will be going to see those princesses no matter how old dd is!! ha!!! She has to take me!!!!
Soleil!!! Glad you are seeing progress!!! Seems like the meeting with G & builder went well...that's wonderful! Hopefully it will be super-quick and you'll be moving in before you know it!

My closest friend is teasing me that when we visit after it opens that she knows I'll be ready to eat there. I'm 32 now and it's still my favorite Disney cartoon! :)

I leave on Thursday!! I've finally started packing. Turns out I only have two tank tops and both are sort of dark colors. But I'm a tad worried about tan lines with a wedding to go to the next week and a sleeveless dress! ;) There's not a lot to pack for a 3 day trip, at least. I should have lots of room for souveniers... there looks like a lot of great Halloween stuff, hopefully it's available outside the MNSSHP.

I also had my pre-op appointment today - I'm four weeks out! I also got my post-surgical brace, which does go from hip to ankle. It's probably still better than a cast. The PA I saw today (I like her; she's super nice!) said that she's going to recommend I be out of work for 4-6 weeks, instead of the 2-3. She said I could go back after 2, until I reminded her where I worked (and we have a generous leave policy). It can only help me to rest up longer but man, it's going to be a looooong 4-6 weeks!

We were hoping to have the house done in December, but it's looking like it will be done in the beginning of January.

Anyone notice the problem here?

We will be in Disney then! We are asking that our house be finished at the end of January. It will also help because we won't have to worry about a mortgage until we are back from vacation and that makes me feel alot better about G missing ten days of work. ;)

January is going to be a very exciting month for the Shopaholic Family!

Christmas Shopping already...you are one organized lady...I wish I could be on top of my Christmas shopping LOL!!!!

Love the release of the Fantasyland news...I really can't wait to go back when it all finishes!!! Very exciting...especially considering my love for all things Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast!!

Well things are good here! Only have a few more days before I head to Disney...I'm so excited but my to-do list until then is like a mile long UGH!!!! I have also been working on my weight loss and my PTR....as of right now I am 24.4 lbs down. I'm really excited to start comparing pictures from my last trip to this trip and see if I can see a difference!!!

Jen- Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome news!

I started online Christmas looking today. We have nixed gifts on my side of the family. Of course, Belle will receive gifts, but G and I probably won't exchange this year. A new house and a Disney trip are gift enough.

I've only got to worry about my 10,000 neices and nephews on G's side of the family. Anyone know where tween girls like to shop for clothes?
