:cheer2::cheer2: Sarah, glad to hear your knee is getting better and better! :cheer2::cheer2:

Mindy, your boys are SOOOO cute! :lovestruc

What's with all the snow? :confused3 We even got a couple of inches this morning. I thought Belgium wasn't supposed to get much snow? Of course, my boys are SO jealous about all the snow they're getting in DC--we moved from that area this past summer, and they want to know why we didn't get all that snow when we lived there! I pointed out to them that those poor kids will be in school until July to make up for all the missed days. :sad2:

So Wookie...the problem is that your DH has been replaced by an imposter who brings you lots of money? :confused3:laughing: Seriously, I hope he finds that he really enjoys the appliance business and that it really takes off for him. :thumbsup2

I admire all you crafty folks! I enjoy cross stitching but haven't done any in several years. I have a couple of half-done projects I should get back to. :guilty: I'm too intimidated to try scrapbooking!

Yeah it was totally uncharacteristic of him.

someone please give me some motivation to go pack... the suitcase made it upstairs but that as far as I have gotten.......:confused3 the weather is only looking to be in the 60's... so is that shorts or pants weather? its only in the teens here so my perspective is all messed up...:lmao:

And we added another trip..:banana::yay::yay:.. just a quick 5 day trip over Memorial Day!!!!! Already made dining reservations.... was able to get Whispering Canyon (1st time), 1900 Park Far, Norway Princess Dinner, San Angel and Mama Melrose.... all places my DD asked for....

Congrats on booking another trip!!
:scared1: Okay.... I will pack!!!!!:rotfl:

Yound lady if you don't get packed then you'll be grounded and you'll have to stay home.:lmao:

:cheer2::cheer2: PACK, Wendy! PACK PACK PACK! :cheer2::cheer2:

Woo hoo! Another trip! Will you be at SOG again?

I don't think so.... I think we might want to do the dining plan this time so we will do a Disney owned hotel... since it is just the kids and I (and DDBoyfriend) we will probably do POP.... I called and with the military discount it was $374 for the 5 nights.... not to bad... I think CSR was $614 so that might be a possibility also... BUT last night the Varsity Baseball coach told me that they might go into Memorial Day weekend.... so I might need to change this trip to June.... not what I wanted to do....

DS is packed and I am about half way packed... lots of little errands to do today then I will finish up.... DH's boss called yesterday and asked him to come to Maine to sit on an interview board .... FRIDAY.... its about a 7 hour drive... so he has to be there all day Friday... and we leave Saturday morning to head to Buffalo (the opposite direction) to get our plane.... STRESS!!!!!!

Well I hope everyone is having a good morning. I'm going to go crawl back in bed. We actually did get snow and it's still falling. When I told DH, he didn't believe me. I took a picture to show him, he didn't believe. I went outside and grabbed a handful and threw it at him, he didn't believe. I think he was just trying to get on my nerves. As of 6:30 this morning, the grass was totally covered. Since it's just slush on the roads and no ice, they are still having school. I know for you Northern ladies, that's nothing in the snow department. (Just remember this is Texas, we're not supposed to have that much snow.:lmao:) My boys will be at home in bed b/c my DH thinks it's stupid they are having school.

:rotfl: I love parent induced snow days!!

Well we saw Disney On Ice: Princess Classics last night. It was fun. There were a few iffy moments with one of the little girls. She doesn't like the sound fireworks make and they shot some off, right in the beginning naturally, so she spend the first 10 minutes screaming about wanting to go home. We finally got her calmed down but she spent the rest of the show on edge.

John is the same way. I really need to get him some earplugs b/c even movies with explosions bother him.

This is our house at about 11:00 AM. The only tracks in the snow are from me walking across the street to take the picture. The street isn't icey at all. It was like walking through a slushie filled street. This time it has been pure snow, which is odd for us. Usually we get more ice than actual snow. The snow is supposed to keep going into the night. Tomorrow night I'll get to watch the opening of the Winter Olympics in my own little Winter wonderland.

How's the packing coming Wendy? Congrats on the added trip!

Well, my baby turns 7 today! Just can't believe it. Where has this time gone? I'm getting ready to leave work here in a bit to take in treats to school.

WOW! That is pretty! I say make yourself some hot cocoa and cuddle up for the opening ceremonies!
Earplugs work great for Paige who is sensitive to loud noises too. I take them to all the fireworks shows and stuff like Indiana Jones at DHS.

:cake::bday: to your baby! My baby turns 7 next month so I know how you're feeling!

Thank you, and yes is it so pretty. I went to the store the other day when I heard we may get this snow. I bought two boxes of hot chocolate and 3 can of spray Cool Whip. We have two empty lots across the street from us, and I'm going out in a minute to take some pics of the boys playing in it. My mom called and asked for some.

:banana:Happy Birthday!!!! to your little one....time goes by wayyyyy to fast!!

The packing has come to a halt... but I plan on getting back to it tonight... DH and I went out for lunch today and to do a little shopping!!! Good news is he convinced his boss to let him just interview this new candidate over the phone so he doesn't have to drive to Maine tonight!!!!!:banana:

ok, how do you ladies up north get anything donw in the winter? All I want to do is sit on the couch in front of the office window and watch the snow.

Also, have any of you done the week of Christmas? I'm thinking maybe next year do that week instead of my bday.

If you get a lot of snow, looking at it just depresses the He!! out of you, so you don't look.
My girlfriend just did Christmas week (she got there on the 25th I think) and said it was okay with good FP management. She is not a DISer, but I gave her lots of good info and my guidebooks, so she was prepared. She stayed off site and got to the parks around opening.
It's beautifully decorated and the Holiday Wishes and parade are FABULOUS!! (see my TR for more details on that!)

I bet it does Sheree. When we get snow, it only stays around a few days. I'm sure it would be different it is was on the ground for months. I braved the snow to go pick up pizza. The place we get it from is a small family owened place. I didn't feel right asking them to get out in it, if I wasn't willing to. Besides, it's not far from the house. One of the main streets in our sub-division is behind our backyard, and the pizza place is on that street. The family is from NJ and one of the reasons they came to TX was to get away from the snow.:lmao: The dad just kept looking outside and laughing. He found it funny that no one had shovels to shovel the snow out of their diveway and sidewalks. I said, "oh course not, this is Texas, we don't get that kind of snow." So far we have 8 inches (I know you Northern ladies will fall out of your chairs laughing at all our snow) and it's still falling. It's supposed to keep going until late into the night.

Depends. I love to admire snow. I then grumble a lot when it's on the roads. Then, at my destination, I'm back looking at the snow again. It's really pretty if it's the light fluffy stuff and then the sun comes out. It really sparkles. For me, the worst is when it gets too cold for it to melt and then everything just looks dirty.

In other REALLY exciting news, we got home from work and found that our street had been thoroughly plowed... less than 48 hours after the storm ended! It might be a new record! (It might be a lot of hourly plow drivers who have earned nearly $0 this season) As I was driving, my husband had to coach me through the trick of getting close enough to the driveway and hitting the gas at JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT to blast through the pile o' snow that now covered the end of the driveway.

(One time, we went almost a full week without our road getting cleared so this really is big news)

That would be how I survive. I'm one heck of a crabby person in winter :rolleyes1. You have to remind yourself that you are one day closer to Spring...

Wendy- please tell me you're packed by now. :scared: Have a wonderful trip!

Sarah- I'm a little late but congrats on being free from your knee brace! :woohoo:

Wookie- WOW I can't believe you got so much snow! We're digging out here and for one am DONE with it!!!!! I put some pics on my TR of our snow if you want to see them.

This week has been one for the records for my family, and not in a good way. On top of the monumental snowfall, DH found out his Dad has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, DD has a double ear infection and DS was diagnosed with pneumonia this morning. Um, please God, my hands are officially full now. You can give me a break whenever you feel necessary. :littleangel:

Hi there everyone! Haven't had time to read, but I just wanted to share something with you. I've been in a crazy Disney depression since the end of last month. I think it's because I was thinking back about last year's trip. Anyways...I keep pestering my DH about going back and he doesn't want to talk about it. If we don't go back this year, we'll have to wait until 2012 (gasp!). We do plan on having another child next year (hopefully with a 2011 summer birthday), so no trip for us. We were thinking about a Hawaiian vacation for our 10 year wedding anniversary in 2012, but now I'm leaning towards a Disney trip for the whole family.

Ok, I got off topic. My DH now says that he will THINK about planning a trip for this year. I didn't get the go-ahead just yet, and he's not guaranteeing anything, but at least he said he'll think about it. Baby steps, right? I'd really love to go back this fall in maybe late Sept/early Oct or possibly the week after Thanksgiving. So, please keep your fingers crossed everyone!!!!

It was a crazy amount of snow. We ended up with about 10 inches at our house and my mom and dad got about 1 foot. It was pretty while it was here, but now that it's almost all metled....yuck.

I'm sorry to hear about your fil. You are having a hard week. Sending you lots of prayers and good thoughts.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!! I am about to get into the kitchen and make lunch. It's a recipe that John found in a Rachel Ray cooking with kids cookbook that he has been begging to make. It is spicy shrimp with chorizo, manchego orzo, and roasted green beans.
I have been watching so much Olympics!! I am so glad they finally stopped showing the film they had of the Georgian luger's last run that he died on. I swear everytime I see the P&G commercial where the athetes are kids, and at the end it says something about how they'll also be kids to their mom's, it has me in tears.
