Welcome back Wendy! :goodvibes

Sorry to hear it was so chilly during your stay. This years temps down south have really scared me away from a January or February trip in the future. :scared:

Shades of Green sounds wonderful! Glad you had a nice time! :cool1:

Augh I haven't checked up on you ladies since Tuesday! Whoops!!

I'd like to say it's because I've been super-busy and doing fabulous stuff, but it's not. Alas. My parents were in Cancun last week and kept emailing me to tell me about their lovely weather and the free beer (I'm not a beer drinker, but hey! It made them happy!). We're stuck here in the grey Michigan winter but it's kind of a function of my surgery and the surgery will lead to a much better, active, and healthy future so it's a temporary trade off.

We have 8" of snow on the ground from an overnight snowfall with warnings of "travel is not advised." (It's worth noting that the guy writing the advisory also lives in town and knows the roads/highways aren't yet treated - ha ha ha) I injured myself last week. Apparently 4 months after surgery isn't recovered enough to take walks in quarter mile increments, so I have a doctor's note now that says I can't (!!!!) until April (!!!!!!) and my leg is feeling slightly worse.

I'm a little worried about it, though it's probably just muscular, but there is a very slight chance of a stress fracture. I'm thinking that if it's not better when I go in for physical therapy tomorrow, I'll probably sit and wait for a physician's assistant to see me/get x-rays. I'd appreciate it if you all could keep your fingers crossed that it's NOT a broken leg because, dangit, I'm still recovering from the first! But it hurts when I touch it and last week, it only hurt when I poked it hard. It also hurt when I rolled over in bed and it touched the mattress. :scared1:

In cheerier news, my friend and I are debating if we want to do one of the Universal Orlando packages for the World of Harry Potter exhibit or wait and do that and Disney next year! It's fun to plan!

Hello Snowbirds! :yay: We were away all last week and I'm finally getting caught up on DISing. Had a great week in the Alps--DH and the boys skied for three days, and I joined them on their last day. I'm not a good skier :rolleyes1 but it was lots of fun. Both boys are now officially better than I am (which isn't saying a whole lot!) DD11 is dying to try snowboarding so we finally told him that next year he can take a lesson.

Oh Kim, hugs and prayers to you and your family. :grouphug:

Wendy, welcome home! Glad you had a nice trip. It's always good to hear nice things about SOG!

Sarah, I hope your leg is OK! Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious...keep healing! :cheer2:

Shawna, Sheree, Kim (NDG), Kim (Monny)--I'm finally caught up on your trip reports! I love vacationing vicariously with all of you! popcorn::

Hope everyone is digging out from the snow!

Sarah - I hope your leg is okay!

I just wanted to share that I got a pin code today (again!). This one is for free Quick Service Dining Plan with a 4 night package at any level resort from April 11 - June 3 2010.
Would be great if it was for when I have already booked!! But I thought it was interesting since I've heard on the DIS podcast that Disney says they're going to scale back on the discounts. This one doesn't even require a very long stay! Plus it's early in spring/summer, which leads me to believe the reservations are down for that time frame. Hope anyone going in May could use it!

My DD8 wants to try snowboarding too!
Now that you're all caught up, I'm going to update tonight (hopefully!)

Let's hope they still offer Free Dining this fall!!! That is the only way I see us going back this year. If they end up offering the QSDP for values, I would definately pay to upgrade to the regular dining plan. I cannot eat all counter service meals for a week!

Hello Snowbirds... my DD Maggie was accepted into the Disney College Program today... she is very excited.... she will be arriving August 23rd and stays until January 9th.... I am going to drive down with her and fly back.... can't believe it....my DD working with the Mouse!!!

OH! That's awesome!
Congrats to her!

I would love to add a few days at Universal to our trip we are planning for next year. B/c of that I am thinking about moving the trip back further in the year to make sure we can afford the extra days at Universal. Right now I'm too busy with school to even think about planning a trip.

Grats to your DD!!! How wonderful that not only she gets to do the college program, but that she will be there for Halloween and Christmas.

My boys had a daddy snow day today. It was snowing earlier, but has stopped. I don't know if we'll get anymore, but so far we have just gotten a dusting of snow. The roofs were covered, but it has already melted off of them.
My DH took me yesterday to see the Wolfman and then to lunch at Salt Grass Steakhouse. The movie was great!! I didn't feel much like eating b/c I had a really bad headache from hitting my head accidently on the wall behind my bed when my DH went to tickle me and I tried to jump away from him. My DH felt bad about it, so as soon as we got home he let me take a nap while he picked up the boys. Also, I figured out a way to insure that I don't spend money at the mall. I'm not used to wearing heels. I'm usually either barefoot or in my low-top canvas Converse. I bought these really cute black boot with almost a 3 inch heel. My DH loves it when I wear them b/c he thinks they make my legs look great. Since he was taking me to see the movie, I wore them for him. They made my feet hurt. My DH could hand me the credit card and tell me that I could spend all the money I wanted to at the Grapevine Mills mall (which includes a Disney store), but I had to do a lap around the mall first in those boots and stay in them the whole time. I would be like, "nah that's ok babe, I don't need to buy anything."

Wendy- welcome home and congrats to Maggie for working with the mouse!!! :cool1: I see some trips to visit in your future. ;)

Sarah- sorry to hear the set back for your knee. Crossing my fingers those xrays come back clear. Take it easy!!!

I would have loved to have done the College Program, but it just didn't work out with my class schedule.

Is anyone else happy that stores are starting to get the spring stuff in? I love all the bright colors!! I went shopping today and got a few tank tops for the summer and was able to get them in a size smaller than a normally wear....YAY!!

It is so hard for me to work right now because everything is just so cute! We are in full Spring bloom at Old Navy right now. I do love walking into the store and seeing all the beautiful bright colors, but I'm tempted to buy everything! I did buy a really cute Spring dress the other dress. I just couldn't resist!

Springtime is one if the times that I'm glad I don't have a girl. There are so many cute things to buy, I would have to have a job just to buy her clothes. Lol

Joey was playing around last night & put David's shoes on. They are just barely too big for him to wear. David wears anywhere from a 10 1/2 to 11 depending on the shoe & my 12 year old goober can almost where his Dad's shoes.

I sure wish the weather was more springlike! I hate that all the cute girls' Easter dresses are without sleeves and so thin! It's still winter here at Easter!
I have a hard time restraining myself from the cute girls clothes too. My kids have WAY too many clothes! Ironically, DD6 will only wear a select few things, so most of her clothes just sit in the drawers. She loves summer and wearing shorts and tanks. hates socks and shoes. Someday she will move to Hawaii.

I could use some new clothes (I think my jeans are about 8 years old - surprisingly they fit!). But I'm too cheap and I'm trying to lose some weight so I can go down a size. We'll see...

Easter dresses are always tricky here too. Maddie always has to wear a cardigan over hers! Target has absolutley adorable clothes right now for girls. I'm tempted to go out a buy stuff, but a lot of Maddie's clothes from last spring/summer will still fit her this year.

I don't know how long it goes until, but Old Navy jeans are only $19 right now! I would buy a pair, but I have more jeans now than I even know what to do with.

Thanks Meghan! I may have to swing by ON tomorrow and try on some jeans! I need a little spring pick me up!

Good morning, Snowbirds! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

ONE MONTH from today I will be at Disneyland Paris! :cheer2:

I am feeling terribly unprepared. Don't know which park/which day, or where we're eating. HOWever...it's not like a trip to WDW. Just three days, two parks, and apparently most people don't even book restaurants in advance. So I'm not really THAT far behind, right? :rolleyes1 I have been reading upon it, and I'll talk to the family this weekend to get some input. It just seems a lot harder to get information for DLP than it does for WDW. For instance, since it's a slow season, some restaurants are only open certain days, or only for lunch. But that information is not really available anywhere (confirmed by the DLP DISers--it's not just that I can't find it). :confused3 Oh well, that just means I get to spend more time pondering different possibilities! :goodvibes

Woohoo!! ONE MONTH! I wouldn't worry - aren't Europeans laid back anyway??
I'm sure it would be hard to plan if you don't know which restaurants are open. Think of all your options, and then go with the flow. I really hope you will do a TR on DLP because we are hoping to go there in summer 2011 when we go to London and hopefully Paris. I have absolutely NO knowledge of it. I'll have to do some research when I make more definite plans.
