I would absolutely LOVE to have you book a trip for me!!! Only 2 problems standing inthe way of that - lack of $$$$ and my husband who sees Disney as "fun" but NOT a necessity! What is WRONG with that man????

When we were driving to MOA from our hotel last night, the girls saw the Airport signs and said "Mommy look!! Signs for Sun Country!! When are we going back to WDW Mommy? " I just about started to cry! MSP airport is about as close to Disney as we will be getting for a little while me thinks!

Hello ladies! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!!! We were gonna stay here and do a thing at our church sunday...but our good friends went to a resort a few hours away last minute and invited us to meet up....so we did! We had a ball--but I got sick yesterday...think it must have been some crazy bug. Still feel a little weird today, but sooo much better....
laptop is still in the shop..dh was sweet enough to leave us his----we start school today!!! VERY informally as I am so tired...but, todays the day! We were going to yesterday, then Mike decided to take off, so we already have played hookie on the first day!!How awesome is that!? Just kidding..I have the first little bit schedules very slowly! Kim....that made me sad for your girls!! But, I am glad you had a good visit with Sherees family!! Great pics!

For all you Snowbirds traveling to WDW this fall/winter....did you hear they extended free dining? There are lots of blackout dates, but it's worth a try!

I just saw that. Someone posted it on our November countdown. It looks like my dates are not included. Well the last 2 days are, but that's it. Strange, the same week last year was included. Oh well, I got the room for 40% off and that saves us more than FD anyway. Plus we aren't getting the dining plan this time! I am just a little concerned that the crowds are going to be higher than last year being that they don't think they need to offer FD during my week.

Yep - I think time is going to fly by for sure! I was just looking at the calendar today and filling in all the activities & things we have going on. DS8 just started a 5 week summer reading camp at the school today. The week after that ends they both have swimming lessons. The following week DS11 starts track. We are going to Hershey one weekend in there! Then school starts in Sept. DS8's soccer starts the same week. Track & soccer overlap for a month. Then pretty soon it will be Halloween and then it will be NOVEMBER!!

I am back finally!

So, let's see:
Flight over - slightly delayed, no big deal, things went fine.
Day in London - it was in the 80s with sun. Weird! Wonderful!
Trip to Harwich (pronounced Harridge): super-easy
Embarkation: we were one of the first 50 people on the ship, and most of the remaining 48 were from our cruise roll call
Boat: Meh. Not many indoor common spaces to sit and read, which was kind of a bummer. Also, two cruises prior had been a MAJOR norovirus trip (everyone's worst nightmare!) so we weren't allowed to serve ourselves at the buffet for the first 4 days and no food outside dining areas the whole trip
Dinner table: 11 people! YIKES! Us, my parents, a mother/daughter combo from the US, 2 from England, 3 from Ireland! Good times!
Ports: Awesome. St. Petersburg was AMAZING!
Weather: Awesomely awesome. I got a sunburn in St. Petersburg. Whoops!
Flight home: also went well.

So that's the super-short version. No photos yet, as they're on my travel laptop and I have about 2000 to sort through. It was a really great trip with really great weather and some amazing cities!

Hi Ladies... I have missed you.... lots to share.... good and bad... lets save the good for last (I like to end a a good note)

Tim's Dad is not doing well. The bone cancer is spreading and he is very week. It has been a trying month and my DH has been traveling back and forth to Michigan every week.... please keep DFIL in your prayers...

We had a WONDERFUL trip over Memorial day... with the exception that they took our carry on bags and made us check them because the plane was to full then proceeded to loose them..... yikes... they did find them the next day...

It was hot but the parks were not that crowded and we had a wonderful time. We tried some great new places to eat.... we traveled with some family friends and it was nice. We stayed at Coronado Springs and it was FABULOUS... it is our fav moderate... staff was great (they actually sent someone to the airport to see if they could find our luggage).... we had connecting rooms with our friends, great location, the Pepper Market was yummy... no complaints....

So far this summer the kids have been busy... Daniel has been playing in a bunch of golf tournaments, working at the golf course and volunteers to teach sports at a local summer camp...

Maggie is a counselor at summer camp, still works at Dunkin Donuts at night and is taking a summer class.... she is off the next couple of days interviewing at graduate schools... I think she is on her way to Indiana University of PA today.... we leave to take her to Disney August 18th.... I will let you all now where she is working so you can pop in and say hi on your trips.... she is VERY excited....

I have been working and trying to hold down the fort while Tim is off taking care of his dad... and his job... real estate is not as busy as last year so that is giving me a little extra time...


I see you all have been busy....

Shawna- Your landscaping looks wonderful! You have a green thumb!!!

Meghan- Happy Birthday and congrats on your the new travel agent job.... I would love to do that!!!!

Shelly- Free dining is alluding us this trip.....

Is Wendy back from WDW yet? I can't wait to hear about her latest trip! And I'd LOVE to join you all in November 2011! I don't really see it happening since we'll still be here in Belgium, but I can dream, can't I? We went in November 2002 and it was lovely. And Meghan, of course four months is not too young!

Yup... I am back!!!! lol

Does anyone use the "rolling" technique when they pack? Instead of just folding your clothes and laying them flat on top of each other, we fold them (tuck the sleeves in) and then roll them up. It actually keeps the clothes nice and doesn't wrinkle them. Plus, it doesn't take up as much space.

I always pack that way..... rolling takes up some little space.... and your right the clothes don't get as wrinkled....

Guess who will soon be able to help all of you plan your fabulous Disney vacations....ME!!!! Per DIS rules, I can't tell you the name of the travel company I'll be working for. But, if you're my friend on Facebook (I love Facebook friends...PM me if you want me to find you), I'd be more than happy to share it with all of you.

Shelly -- we miss the free dining but we couldn't use it anyway... we got a bounce back offer of 42% off and might be able to get it to 50% off once Maggie checks into the college program in August... I am thinking it might be a busy time with the end of the Food and Wine festival, and MNSHP and the beginning of MVMCP.... and Jersey Week..... can't be worse than February recess though so its all good....

Yeah, I can understand the first week of Nov not being included in FD (Jersey Week), but I am kind of surprised at the second week. Guess because the F&W festival goes later this year. . .

So when you got a 42% off BB offer, was that for all levels or is the 42% off just for deluxes???

Well, folks, I'm baaaaack..... I know you missed me, right?

After my last trip in September, I wanted to go again in December, but couldn't. Then my d took off for her semester in Rome, and I began planning my trip to Italy. (Had a wonderful time, BTW - but if you think there's a lot of walking at Disney, you ain't seen nothin until you're trying to tour Rome or Tuscany!)

Anyway, this year, I am going for my birthday in December, even without the birthday promotion. It'll be a solo trip, but I'll get another AP since my d wants to go back, and I did promise her a graduation trip! And we'll hit HP, too. (I have such a good kid - she told me she wouldn't mind if I went in December before she did, but I really don't want to see it for the first time by myself. Not when I have an HP fan at home, or at least at college!)

Anyway, I hope I can jump back in!

Ooooooooohhhhhhhh.. a November countdown... can you post the link for me....

We are there Nov 5-12. Right now I have a reservation at the Yacht Club for the week and SOG for the week. It also happens to be the week the PGA is there for the Childrens Miracle Network tournament. And I have some golfers inthe family who are really interested in seeing this.... so I am thinking we are going to stay at the Yacht Club Friday thru Tuesday and then move over to SOG on Tuesday until we leave Friday .... that is unless my daughter can get us a great deal on dining... from what she has heard many times they offer $25 a day dining for CP guests... if thats the case we might just stay at Yacht Club the whole time.... if not then we will move... the SOG is only $123 a night as compared with the Yacht Club.. at $285 a night... I know that the $150 a day extra doesn't make up for the adding the dining plan... it is more of a convenience thing... anyway... we won't have to pay for tickets so that is helping.... so many choices to make... none of which can be done until Maggie checks into the CP....

I think the 42% off was for the deluxe resorts... but with the CP program we should be able to get 50% off so we are also waiting to check on that...
