It was for the value resorts....which if Mike and ds14 do go to NYC next month,,, maybe now I can tell him how CHEAP it would be for me and the little ones to go to WDW!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! I hope this is the start of a great new relationship! Me and Disney Pin codes!!!! Ha!!!!

Congrats!!! A lot of times those pins come with just an "example" of the deal and it might be able to be applied to mods too! You should call and find out! I want to know details too!!
I can't believe it took so long for you to get one. Maybe they realized you hadn't booked a trip yet and they wondered why not??? I thought it was odd that you hadn't gotten one. I got about 4 of them right after we got back and we'd already booked bounceback!! Crazy!


I took tomorrow off work. I wouldn't have really had anything to do anyway. The kids are on spring break and it's beautiful spring weather - over 70 today! But really windy. Might try to find something fun to do with them. After we go grocery shopping! Have to get cake supplies to make a cake for Paige's party Friday night. I had some ideas from a book and she wants a FlipFlops cake. It doesn't look too hard - just cut up a 9x13 and frost it cute. Use fruit roll up by the foot for the straps, decorate with candy on the sides, and put a silk flower on the middle of the straps. If it works, I'll post a picture!
Have to buy Sarah some shoes. Poor kid has one pair of sneakers and a bunch of crocs and flips. That's IT!

Sheree~ I saw that cake on a video! I think it's Betty Crocker,but I can't be too sure...they show you step-by-step how to make it!! I would have to watch it 20 times to make sure I got it right!! Ha!!
I can't believe I haven't gotten one either!! I know lots of people have been getting them lately...I was beginning to feel shunned!! It's for 20% savings on a Value resort....selected dates in April-Dec. If I take dd and ds10 by myself that would work out great!! I can't use it for our Nov trip though--unless when I call it applies to a Deluxe---dh doesn't want to do a Value....so, if I take them, it would shave about $100 off 5 nights for us! I would want a preferred room I think...I was happy to see that airfare from Houston to NYC dropped $98 yesterday!! It's still a little pricey I think ($288RT)...but it's better than what it was!! So..he needs to decide when they are going and book it!! Fares to MCO dropped from $290 to $258...not a huge difference, but every little bit helps....especially when you are trying to talk your husband into a trip by how little it'll cost him!!!!

So it turns out that my .... deep breath .... best friend's husband's mother is planning an extended family trip to Disney. Somehow, I've managed to become part of the extended trip so if it comes together, I'll be invited to go with.

I don't entirely know how that happened, but... really! I'm not crazy enough to object!!

Most of my focus has been on our upcomign Baltic Seas cruise at the end of June. Once we're back from that, it's probably time to st... well, hmm. We were planning a family (my parents, us, my brother & his wife) trip to Disney next summer to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary, but the situation is changing. WELL. I'll just have to go without my family!

Plus, my DH is running the Boston Marathon on the 19th! We're driving there and back. I guess we'll see if I can drive without pain. Otherwise, looks like he'll be doing a LOT of the driving!

Still no resolution on my leg pain. My surgeon offered to see me a couple days early but it seemed kind of silly, at this point. What's a couple days? I'm just afraid it's going to result in more surgery. I'm over surgery! Since I've known you wonderful women, I've had THREE surgeries!

Shawna- Congrats on a code!!! You lucky duck you! I haven't gotten a code since our Jan trip even though I keep playing around on the website getting quotes and hoping to trigger something. It's probably for the best anyway- can't use it if it's for 2010. Still it feels nice to be on the *list*.

Sarah- I'm sorry to hear your knee is still not feeling any better. Hopefully it doesn't mean another surgery for you.

The sun is shining finally here in MD. Thank goodness!! I needed it!!!!!

Tomorrow is Andrew's birthday. I can't believe he will be 6 already! I have to run out tonight to get some things for his big day tomorrow. We'll be field tripping it to his school at lunch to deliver a treat for his class. I'm sure his teacher hates me. Every time I show up for things I am lugging 5 additional kids with me.

Thanks!! But we're coming up on a month and a half of chronic pain with no real cause OR fix!

Sarah- I'm sorry to hear your knee is still not feeling any better. Hopefully it doesn't mean another surgery for you.

My knee is great! The surgery has been a HUGE success in terms of knee pain. I caught myself squatting the other day and I don't know the last time I could do that without a LOT of knee pain. It's also great that I did it and didn't realize it! Unfortunately, I have a "stress injury" from recovery, and there's a theory that the giant metal plate in my leg is just interfering with the muscles and tendons and until IT goes the pain won't go.

But I see my surgeon on Monday! We'll just see how that works out!!

Awesome!!!! Pin codes are great, even if you can't use them. I think it's only a little over $100 to upgrade to a preferred room at Pop. Actually, there really aren't any "bad" buildings to stay in there. It's not that spread out. We opted for a standard room this time because it really doesn't make a difference. I really hope that you get to go!!!!

Sarah, sorry to hear you're still having pain. Hopefully that will get resolved soon and you'll be all good to go for your upcoming trips! I'd love to hear about your Baltic cruise--we'll probably take another cruise while we're in Europe, and are thinking either Baltic or Greek Isles.

Sheree, please post a picture of the cake! I remember when I was little my mom would get the Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating every year, and I would pore over that thing for hours. I've never attempted any "real" cake decorating myself, though.

Wookie, way to go on the algebra test! That stinks that you didn't get credit for a correct answer. Glad to hear your DH is settling in to his new work with his dad.

Who am I leaving out? It's good to hear updates from everybody, even if they're not Disney-related. Has anyone heard from Becca recently? I'm wondering how the baby is coming along. I'm sure between that and getting ready for her big move she's pretty busy!

My boys start their spring break today..and don't go back to school until April 19! I don't know what I'm going to do with them this whole time! Next week we're going to do some day trips around here, but then DH is leaving on a loooong trip (he'll be home mid-June) so it will be just the kids and me the second week of their break. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can at least send them outside!

I will definitely post pictures of the flip flops cake. I baked it last night and cut out the shapes. I traced a shoe just for a guideline template. Part of the cake had cracked toward one end, so the shoes are a little short. But like Paige said - there's only 8 kids mom! Trying to think of something clever to do with the left over pieces. Maybe I can make a trifle?
I did watch the how to video from the Betty Crocker website and that was helpful for tips on the frosting/decorating part. I'll probably do it tonight after dance. I have to sit with DH at the Dr. tomorrow morning and want to be able to run to the bakery if I need a replacement cake before 5 tomorrow night!

Plutofan- you have a LONG spring break!! Do they go to school in the summer too? Do they go to an international school there? I have a friend from back in grade school who went to ISB in Brussels when they lived there. Have I asked before, are you/DH with the military?

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Andrew! He's so excited to be 6!!! We're probably going to be eating chicken nuggets for dinner since it's his pick.

We took cookies into his school for all his school friends. His teacher rolls her eyes at me every time I come up there with 5 kids in tow, which has only been a handful of times this year for special occasions. Sorry lady this is my job and I like it. I'm not going to slight my own kids just because I take care of other children. It aggravates me. Off my soapbox now.

Anyways, we're just getting ready for our move next month. We're moving into a townhouse that's around 1000 sq feet so we'll have a little more space than we do right now.

It is 74 degrees right now here in Buffalo!!!!! It's supposed to be in the 70's the next 2 days as well. What a great start to April! The forecast for Easter right now is mid 60's and I couldn't be happier. Madison might be able to wear her dress without a sweater over it for once!

Been very busy here. Worked everyday this week. But we are off now until Tuesday and it is sunny and 80 degrees here!! Which is pretty much unheard of in PA this time of year, so we are sure enjoying it.

We're having some amazing weather here too! 2 days in a row of 75 and sunny!!! I took yesterday off to hang with the kids (spring break). So fun! Very unlike typical MN weather. This is the first March in history where we have had NO SNOW!!

I'm getting excited for the weekend. Besides Easter (dinner at my parents) we're having DD7's party, and going to the Twins exhibition game Sat afternoon. Hopefully it won't rain! It's a brand new OUTDOOR stadium!! I did hear it's going to cool down for the weekend though, so no 75 and sunny to enjoy the game. But we have a bunch of games to go to this summer (we got partial season tickets), so I'm sure we'll have some good weather games.

They are soooooo sweet and loooooove their mommies!!! they are usually calmer infants....don't know why--girls aren't bad, the boy babies just seem more laid back--which will be good for you moving away....Hope your move is smooth and stress free!!!

Okay - here is the cake! I had hoped to do brighter colors, but I think you needed different food coloring. At least Paige likes it. Now I just have to transfer it to the bowling alley without wrecking it!!!
Thanks to all who mentioned the Betty Crocker video - I watched it 4 or 5 times and got some really good tips.
The pictures don't really show the colors that well. The top is a dusty pink and the sides are lavender purple (I think the picture looks gray!). The candies on the sides are the easter color m&ms.
Then I'm going to put the candles on the tops.
