~Snowbird Chat 2~

If you need park tickets, order them NOW!
Prices are going up tomorrow!!
The cost of a 5 day non-hopper will increase by $15!!

Just bought the last two. I'd bought two a few weeks ago trying to spread out the cost.
Did you see how much the APs are??? $574!!! Crazy!

Sheree..I can't believe they are going up that much! That is just nuts!!! Between that and airfare, they are really limiting people!!! I know people this year who are just barely able to afford it...much more 'slight increasing' across the board and they won't be able to go back.
I am happy to say that I am sending this on my new Mac!!!! I took the plunge yesterday and got one! Have been saving for a while and we made the switch for me and for our office computer!!! I think DH is gonna be surprised when he sees how fast it'll be for what he needs at the office! He has a Mac laptop, but at work, it's archaic and drives me nuts!! It's even slower than my HP!!
Well, gotta finish getting ready for church! Have a great Sunday y'all!

Sheree - I agree, it's crazy! What to do :(

Disney Mommy 3 - Enjoy your mac, I love mine :D.

I was planning to go to WDW next year in September and hopefully can save up enough by then (although granted, the tickets will more than likely have gone up again by then).

I'm currently sitting and watching the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant at the moment, been up since just after 8. It's been fun to watch so far.

Thanks for reminding me - just turned on the jubilee! Looks like pretty cruddy weather there - too bad. It's so fun to sit and say - I was just there!!!
Reminds me - I better work on an update for my TR!

Sheree, did you enjoy it? Bit sad that the fly overs got rained out. I just did the same thing in a sense, sitting here and saying I'll be there in just over a month!

Looking forward to your update!

I did, although I only saw the last hour or so. The commentator said the same thing I was thinking at the very end as the Royal family was leaving - Kate's umbrella matched her outfit! I think it's so cool that they honor the royal family. I know some people think it's pointless, and a waste of money, but it really seems to bring the country together for those big joyous occasions. I think it's nice that they embrace tradition and ceremony. I got a kick out of seeing the Tower Bridge opened up! I didn't get to see it like that when I was there!

Okay, getting ready to load the update...

I'm amazed at how much the ticket prices are going up too! Just think, when we all went on our trips 3 1/2 years ago a 1 day ticket was only $75. I think my AP only cost a little over $400.
The Fantasyland expansion had better be good. If ticket prices go up too much more, a day at Discovery Cove, and/or Universal won't be so much of a stretch.

Maybe they'll make up for it by starting to offer excellent discounts on the hotels on property? (:rotfl2: yeah right!)

Yes, between the crazy ticket price increase and ridiculous airfare I think a lot of people are getting priced out of their yearly WDW trips. :sad2:

I never had any interest in going to Universal before, but I am considering it now...

YAY for updates!

I never even noticed/realized that Kate's umbrella and outfit matched until you mentioned it and I suddenly clued in that they totally did! I agree with you 100%, it's really awesome how they embrace things and just make a big party out of it.

I agree with you, people are getting phased out of their yearly trips. Sad :( Lol, I hope they do offer hotel discounts :P :rotfl2:! Nice to wish, right ;)?

They also said on the coverage on CNN that the Queen's umbrella, with a clear top is so people can still see her. But the trim always matches her outfits! And I saw where she always has black or white gloves and they are custom made and she gets new ones all the time. I'd wear gloves too if I had to shake that many people's hands! Germs!!!

Ticket price increases stink:scared1: This is why we have been so happt to take advantage of the YES programs at disney for our last 2 trips. We got 6 day park hoppers for 180$ each. You can't beat that deal. Everyone should do it if they have classes while you are in disney.

and for those who are considering Universal, we got our tickets at COSTCO. 139$ for a three day hopper that is good for 2 years.

I never noticed or thought about the gloves and the umbrellas until you mentioned this - makes sense! I'd wear gloves too, totally with you on that!

My jaw dropped when I saw the ticket price increase. They are making ti so hard for the average family to visit. We won't be going back until 2013 or possibly 2014. Right now we are focusing on doing things that need to be done on our house. Sadly, a new roof and flooring trumps another Disney trip.

Shawna- Congrats on your new mac! Did you switch over from a PC? I need a new laptop and am looking into a mac. They are pricey but I end up having to buy a new laptop every 3-4 years because they never last so it may be worth the investment. I just worry that all of my programs and documents are ms word and will I be able to transfer them over easily?

bye ladies.... car is packed and we are off to the airport!!!!
I missed your send off but hope you are having a wonderful time!

Kim,..I have been saving for one for a while now! We also switched Mikes office computer over!!! His is an OLD one,...with the big tower hard drive and a million cords everywhere! we got both at one time because I will be taking mine to the office when I go in once or twice a week to do bookkeeping. Best Buy is actually loading all the new software onto his new computer now--when they finish, he will transfer all our stuff over from the old one. They have all told us how easy it is to do-and I have a resident computer geek (my 16 yo) that can help with any hangups...but mac and best buy give you #s to call if you need help and they are suppose to answer directly and help you right then. So far, so good~ My old laptop (a Hewlitt Packard pc) finally ran out of warranty in March, and I have sent it into the shop 3 times!!!! No telling how much it would have cost if we would have paid out of pocket!!
I don't know what programs you have or if some would have to be reinstalled or what...maybe go to your local Best Buy or whatever you have and talk to them about it...they will give you a print-out with all the prices.

Thanks Shawna! Funny, my laptop is an HP too and it has been a lemon from day one! I won't buy an HP ever again. DH has a Dell that's 5 years old and hasn't given him any trouble. I use mine lots more than he does though. I'm mainly worried about my work documents being able to transfer easily and also my digital scrapbooking software. I can always re-buy the scrapbook software in the mac format. It's under $100 so it's not too much of a loss. I'll have to start my research soon.
