~Snowbird Chat 2~

Hey Snowy Peeps!!! :goodvibes

We have had a FANTASTIC MArch break so far!!! Monday my hubs worked so the girls and I stayed in our jammies till noon then went to the library for a puppet show!

Tuesday hubs was home so we did the local tourist haunts like our conservatory and museum then Em and I went to see Gnomeo and Juliet - cute movie!!!

Yesterday we all went to the airport to welcome home my Dad who was in Haiti for 2 weeks on a short term missions trip to help rebuild an orphanage! The girls went to my sisters for a bit then Nat had a playdate here with one of her buddies from school. Ken and aI took stock of all the junk we are storing in our garage and made decision on where it will be headed in the near future! We di scrambled eggs and pancakes for supper, hit our local art gallery for "free to the public night" saw some pretty cool art projects by the students at the University then dropped hubs off at the church for a drama practice and the girls and I went and got some groceries. Home again and they cleaned out the van for me while I unloaded and put away all the groceries! We then cut into a lovely pineapple for their bedtime snack! Put the kids to bed, Daddy came home after a post practice run and we got caught up on our TV shows! Phew - long day!

Today I had a chiro appt then walked home while KEn took the girls with him to pick up a coworker at the airport and take her to his office. When they got home we watched an episode of Myth Busters and then went to our Favourite "Irish" restaurant - Ronald McDonalds!! :lmao: The girls just finished decorating their 3rd Annual St. Patricks Day cake and we are going to watch some more Myth Busters. I am taking dinner to a Family from our church who just welcomed a set of Twin boys to the 2 daughters that they already had! 4 kids under the age of 6!! Tomorrow I have the little baby that I take care of coming for the day and then tomorrow night is our nieces 4th birthday party!! It has been raining ALL day and washing away a lot of our snow!! Hope we don't get too much more - it is so nice to have the temperatures above zero for a change!

Hope everybody has a GREAT rest of the week!! :goodvibes

Good morning Snowbirds! Yesterday was the longest day ever!!!! Madison was in 7 shows with her Irish dancing school. We had a ton of fun and got to bring smiles to many different faces. She danced at a Salvation Army in Buffalo, 2 city schools, 3 nursing homes and then an Irish restaurant/bar. After all the dancing, we went to my sister & BIL's house for corned beef and cabbage. Madison is in one last show today, my baby shower if tomorrow and then the big St. Patrick's day parade is Sunday. Phew!!

Kim...I now feel impelled to do gardening research for you!! LOL
Kimmy~ you have had packed days!!!! I can't believe that you still have snow washing away while I am begging for rain to wash the pollen down!! I need to go to my chiro...I always feel soooo much better when I am finished...
Meg~ WOW!! That's a lot of dancing!! LOL..Hope your baby shower tomorrow is fun! Wish we could all be there...but know we are thinking of you!!!! POST PICS!! LOL

Yes Shawna - we will probably have snow until the middle of April!!! It actually snowed a little last night! Just a small dusting though, not too bad! We are supposed to have a few warmer days this weekend and into next week so hopefully most of the snow ill melt away... ;) Then will we most likely get some more! I am starting to get really tired of winter! Spring needs to come soon! :)

Meghan - have a wonderful time at your shower tomorrow!! :flower3: I pray that you will feel loved and blessed by all those around you and also by the ones who cannot be there but who are thinking of you!! (hint:snowbirds!!) :grouphug:

Kim..(maryland)...have you considered Hydrangeas? They grow good in a shadier area...and they can get really big if you want them to...I am n love with them because they are old-fashioned!:goodvibes Granny plants!! LOL... I didn't know you could use them in big pots until recently...I may have to do that in my smaller area...just stick it in a big giant pot and let the blooms fall over!!!

LOL Kimmy has snow I have 80 degrees LOL!! Got to love March!! Spring Break went by way too fast!!!! Although to be honest I am looking forward to getting back to work and with my students!! Should be finding out next week or the week after about my status for next year!! So far we have had good news with our governor allowing to tap into the Economic Stabilization Fund and not taking a planning period away from core teachers (which means you can't cut as many teachers) so I'm feeling optimistic and really trying to leave it in the Lord's hands and be thankful for all we have!!!

Hope your allergies are feeling better Shawna!!!! I know I'm dealing with cedar fever here LOL!

It was a very long day of dancing, but she wasn't tired at all! She still had so much energy at the last show. Me on the other hand, not so much. Instead of watching the last few shows, I sat in another room to get off my feet. My legs are still sore!

I cannot wait until tomorrow!!! I haven't seen my aunts and cousins since Christmas. We're going to have so much fun (and it's a breakfast buffet...my favorite!). I'll post a few pics over here for you guys for sure.

Meghan - have a wonderful time at your shower tomorrow!! :flower3: I pray that you will feel loved and blessed by all those around you and also by the ones who cannot be there but who are thinking of you!! (hint:snowbirds!!) :grouphug:

Thanks! Wish you could all be here with me tomorrow. :goodvibes

we were almost at 80 or right on the nose today too...YUCK!! Sinus infections are a million times worse when you are hot!!! Jen, I have a friend whose husband is allergic to cedars also...he said it's awful when he's in the area where you are....he has family there so his allergies go nuts when they visit!

I too am allergic to Cedar Trees!!! We have 3 huge ones in our back yard and I cannot get within 3 feet of them before my eyes start to get itchy and my nose starts to run! Horrible nasty things - although the kids LOVE to climb in them and they are very pretty! They make a PERFECT barrier between our house and our backyard neighbour too! We have a deck in our back yard and if I want to be outside in the summer I HAVE to stay ON the deck in the back or else my "cedar fever" starts to act up! :headache:

Good morning Snowbirds. Please send some prayers our way if you can. Our 14 1/2 year old dog is not doing so well. The kids are very upset, they've never known life without him. :sad1:

Prayers for your family and your dog, Shelly.

At the right now waiting to meet Hines Ward. It's a madhouse! The things I do for my kids.

Hi Snowbirdies!!!

I'm baaaaack!! Brought home a lovely little cold with me and DH has some pain in his stomach and may be headed to the Dr. tomorrow. Other than that, we had a wonderful, busy trip!! The Dream is amazing and the spring break crowds were out in full force!! We saw lots of cars from Texas, Ontario and MN!

I hope that all of you who are ailing feel better soon. I read back through the posts - those of you who asked for prayers - you got them!

I plan on doing a TR, but it will be a few days until I get started. I'll let you all know of course.
Did about 3 loads of:laundy: today, so that's taken care of.
Happy Spring all! We actually had a lot of snow melt while we were gone, so we can actually see some of our yard!! I'm sure our winter's not over, and we will get more snow and of course, spring flooding, but at least it's not frigid cold anymore!

Welcome Home Sheree! :goodvibes So glad you had a GREAT vacay!!! It was so neat to follow along with your adventures on FB!!! Hope you and Dave are feeling better soon! Enjoy the grass sighting while you can - I have a feeling we are in for more snow! It actually snowed a little up here today! Happy Spring!! ps - the cookies are VERY nearly all gone!! Soooo yummy!! :)

Happy Spring my dears!!!! I did more yard work today...wow...I am sore already so I know it'll be worse tomorrow! Yesterday I redid my big front bed-took out those bushy shrubs so i won't have to prune all that anymore:yay: put in the hydragneas in their place. Moved a couple of plants around, then I remulched the whole thing...used 8 of the big bags of mulch..but boy it is much prettier! I will probably go back and let G add some little annuals...waiting for the summer stuff to really come out in full force!

We had a very nice weekend weather-wise here. It was a bit chilly on Saturday, but yesterday was about 46 degrees and it was SO sunny! It was perfect parade weather and Madison & I had a ton of fun (she was in the parade and the parents walk behind the dancers).

Our spring break isn't until mid-April....the week before Easter to be exact. I actually have booked 2 trips for that week for some clients. :goodvibes

We got the call a little past midnight for Jason's dad. They've unhooked all the monitors and machines and it's just a matter of time now. I'm glad we went to see him yesterday while he was still conscious. It was good for Jason to see him one last time and talk with him. We are thankful that he isn't in pain. It's been a long and stressful night. This is so much harder than I ever imagined it could be. Jason is still at the hospital with his family. I got Andrew off to school and I'm trying to keep a happy face for Em. We decided to keep things as normal as possible for them. Please keep us in your prayers today. We could really use them.

Oh Kim, I am so sorry. It must be very difficult for you and your family. You are in my prayers and I hope that you can get through this difficult time the best way possible.:hug:

You gave me some good perspective today. I'm not going to complain about my stupid cold. It could be so much worse.
