~Snowbird Chat 2~

Red - great snow pictures - and super beautiful princess dresses!

Sarah - you'll have to tell me all about it! I'll want to know about the dining rotation and the shows.

Sending some pixie dust that all the Snowbirds and all the Snowbird babies are healthy for Christmas!
We're finally feeling better here. Now I'm just crossing my fingers and toes the dreaded stomach bug passes us by. It's been making the rounds at Andrew's school and everywhere else around here so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. :headache:

Andrew's last day of school is tomorrow and then he has off until 2011. I only have 3 more days of work this week. Luckily we finished all our shopping this past weekend. Jason and I stayed up last night and got everything wrapped. All that is left to do is make some cookies for Santa. :santa:

There's been some talk of snow for Christmas here and I will be thrilled if it actually happens.

Mindy- What a relief that it was just a hemangioma!

Sheree- I think a Disney cruise is worth Ramen in the dark for a year! :lmao: Congrats!

Shelly/Red- Love the snow pics and princess dresses! Keep warm! I want your address thingy by the way- too cute. I don't think DH would approve of Mickey on the front of our house though.

I like that address thingy too! I have a Mickey "welcome" garden stone that I put by my front door. It's probably covered in snow now. We got another 4 inches or so today.

Did someone say party at Shawna's house? party: And Red is bringing the kegs?:drinking1 OR...we could all join snykymom at WDW! :woohoo:
I'm not sure you would have wanted to join me! (And thanks for all the good wishes, folks!) It was COLD. Even with our fleece and ski jackets, we were COLD. We didn't even try for Fantasmic!, and it rained the day we were going to see Illuminations. And it was much more crowded than I expected. I don't think December's a good time for me, even though it was my birthday.

Speaking of which, we did Victoria & Albert's on my birthday - what an amazing experience! Even better than the last time. And my DH enjoyed it so much he said he may never eat again (which of course he did, but that's another story :rotfl:).

I wore my birthday button for a couple of days, and never got so many "Happy Birthday" wishes! And a dessert at Jiko, and they sang to me at Prime Time. And PUSH sang Happy Birthday to me, too, and then asked for a hug. :lovestruc Made my day. (Okay, I'm a pushover.)

Space Mountain broke down just as we were at the top of the first decent. So after about 10 minutes, we got to ride it with the lights on! Apparently, it's one of their safety rules - the lights have to be on. It was so cool! And then we got to go back on right away and ride it in the dark!

It was a sort of weird vacation - nothing really wrong, just everything a little off. Maybe because of the cold.

But it was better than being at work!

Wishing everyone who celebrates a very Merry Christmas. :santa:

And keep me posted about the sleepover!

I'm sorry your vacation wasn't the best. We had the same experience in November. Last year was so prefect that I think we were expecting this year to be the same. But it just wasn't. Nothing terrible. It just felt off. :confused3 I think we'll switch things up and go at a different time next year.

Sounds like you had some good and some not-so-good. I love Push, too. He had a great interaction with Ry two years ago.

Hello everyone. I'm currently recovering from a little stomach bug I had yesterday. And no, it wasn't just morning sickness. It was awful! And, Tony had a fever and he stayed home from work. It was a blessing in disguise for sure. He was able to bring and pick up Maddie from school which I would not have been able to do (I got sick around both those times). I woke up today feeling better, but very weak.

Like I said before, I bring Madison to school everyday. We were getting ready to leave and my garage door would only open halfway. Wonderful. Thankfully, my mom left work to come pick her up and take her to school. When she got back, she pulled the little release handle and I was able to back my car out. We can't get anyone out to our house to fix the door until 6pm tonight! That's when I teach dance, so at least my car is out of the garage. What a day!

Tomorrow is Madison's last day of school for 2010 and Tony & I are helping out at her class party. I almost want to go buy one of those medical face masks to wear!!! I do NOT want to get sick again!!!!

Believe it or not, I think I'm getting "parked out"! I did buy an AP, so I'll have to amortize it this year, though - thinking of going to F&W in October, maybe for less than a week, and then laying off the parks for a while. But I'm looking forward to reading the trip reports about the cruises - I think we may want to do that in the not-so-distant future!

Sorry to hear about everyone's illnesses - hope you're all well enough to enjoy your Christmas!

I hope you and Tony feel better soon!!

And the Aqua Duck? I can't wait for that!! ;)

Yeah, I'm not so sure about that. It looks pretty cool! If it doesn't have HUGE drops or go too fast, I'd like to try it. Maybe. Do you know whether you could ride with a child? You'll have to check it out.

That's kind of how we are feeling. The kids even more-so than DH & I. :confused3 There were days on the trip that they didn't even want to go to the parks. Or they only wanted to do a few things once we got there. But they say they still want to go back to WDW every year! :upsidedow So I am really going to try to change things up next time. Cut back on the park time, spend more time at the resort, and maybe do Disney Quest and a Water park.

And we are hoping to cruise in 2012 or 2013! :wizard:

I was thinking about spending a little less time at the parks this trip too. We've already got Tuesday to do pool, DTD or whatever, then Friday will be a return to whatever park day. Andy and I just discussed maybe skipping AK since Primeval Whirl will be down. The only things I was really looking forward to there was seeing Festival of the Lion King for the first time, and seeing Nemo again. Not sure if its worth spending the day for just those. I think we'll play it by ear and see what the boys want to do. If it's warm and they wanna stay at the pool, or go spend their money at DTD, that's what we'll do!

Hope all the birdies stay well this week! Drew had his last day of school today and I got to go help at his Christmas party, and Keaton has his in the morning at preschool. They are bouncing off the walls tonight!

Morning from Colorado! Traveling yesterday was well let's just say entertaining. Nothing extrememly terrible happened. We flew out of Milwaukee and the 1 1/s hour drive took a tad bit longer because we got snow/freezing rain mix (that wasn't supposed to happen till the middle of the day). Our flight ended up being delayed about 2 hours. My father doesn't travel well, he just gets very anxious and then just annoys the rest of us. Finally got out of the airport, took us another 5 hours til we could get up to Estes Park.

Now for something kinda funny...so in Colorado during the winter the SUV rentals have snow racks on them...so as we are trying to get the suburban into the garage I kept saying it's not going to work with the rack. Well sure it fits when we have our luggage and $300 worth of groceries and 5 adults. However now that it's unloaded....yep can't get it out! At this point it was 11:30pm - and having been up since 3am, all I could say was "I told you so". Then went to bed!

Never a dull moment when you travel with family!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello Birdies!

I missed my own 1 month! Oi!

We've been so busy! Tomorrow is our big Christmas feast, the turkey is thawing.
The baking should be done... I am hoping. DH is in charge of that! :thumbsup2

There is still wrapping to do.... I need lessons in self control over buying presents!

DD had the stomach bug yesterday... I was home with her.. today left work sick  But feeling better now.

Well wishes to the other sickies!

Congrats wishes to those who have rebooked or made changes to their trips...
We want full reports on the DREAM! :cheer2:
