I've been looking over my new Birnbaums WDW 2004 Guide and came across this attraction. They didn't give it a "Birnbaum's Best" but they gave Peter Pan's Flight a "best" in which we thought it wasn't entertaining at all.

Anybody ride this one before and how was it on a scale of 1 to 10 overall. It's located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.

I give it about a 2 for adults, and maybe a 3 for children. It's a strange little ride, too scary for the smaller guests but too kitchy for the older ones.

I'm bumping you over to TPA&S for more replies.

I agree with Cleo. I would give it a 2 or 3. It's an older ride that's scary for pre-schoolers and probably boring for older kids. I wouldn't mind skipping this one on our next trip.

Not very good, but the hag is scary. If someone didn't know the Snow White story, they'd never be able to piece it together through this ride.

Cleo and the rest are right on....
My daughter (then 2yr old) was a little scared during that ride.

we rode it once, but have skipped it all the rest of the time. I don't think it is worth it.

OK, Thanks...we'll skip on over the to Carousel since my daughter loves that. I was going to skip that instead.

I don't know...I am older and I love it. It's one of those old time rides that has alot in the way of nostaglia. That being said, if you've never ridden it in the past or in your childhood, you won't be able to see what's so great about it.

My kids were 4 and 2 on our last trip to Disney and we rode Snow White 6-7 times. They loved it. They have watched the Snow White movie a lot though and are very aware of the how scary the witch is. Because we know the story so well, my husband and I really like it too. I think if your kids like the movie and don't get too freaked out from that, then they will be fine. I have heard lots of people say that their kids were freaked out by this one.
Have a great trip.
Amy

I can't really give it a rating because Snow White is my favorite so I will naturally tell you that I love the ride.

When my DD was 2 she didn't cry during the ride, but she was a pretty tough 2 yr old.

When my DD was 3 she didn't appreciate this ride at all because as she said "The witch is in there." Amazing how things can change with a child in one year.

When my DD was 4 she absolutly refused to go into the ride because the again in her words "No way!!!!That witch is in there and she will get me!!"

I am very curious to see what will happen this year - she will be 6.

To compare Snow White to Peter Pan - Peter Pan is the better ride because you have the feeling as if you are flying way up high which is cool for adults and children. Even though I love Snow White....I would direct you to Peter Pan first and then Snow White second.

Have a good trip:wave:

We enjoy this ride. My DD is now 8. She's been to WDW regularly since she was an infant and has never been frightened by this ride. I love the colors and artwork. I think it is all well done. I think Peter Pan is novel because you are flying above everything, but other than that I would rate them about the same.

I agree with SurlyMermaid, it's not the best ride in the park, but it's certainly nostalgic. For my group it would be like going to MK and not riding IASW.....which will be the case when we go in June

I give it a 1 or a 2. I really do not care for it at all.

I agree with what many others have posted. This ride is too scary for very young children and too "cheesy" for older ones. This is one that we skip over.

Peter Pan on the other hand, I love! There is something about the scene where it looks like you are flying over London that just mesmerizes me.

i'm crying with you. i was about 1 1/2 when iasw came to the world's fair in flushing, nyc, and fell in love with it then. i believe it's my earliest memory. i remember looking up at the dolls and also that at the end of the ride, people dressed something like the 3 muskateers took our boat away from us. i couldn't make my parents understand that they we're stealing the boat and did not understand why my parents let it go w/o a fight....dj:p

and i couldn't imagine going to wdw w/o it. but in spite of it's rehab, i know you're going to have a GREAT trip!!

Snow White was under rehab last week. Not sure how long it is down.

DD was 5 on our first trip and started FREAKING out on this ride.

(The only other thing she couldn't handle was "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" and becuase of that 3-D experience, she wouldn't try the glasses on at Muppet Vision.)

We video taped the rides, and during this one you can hear my manic-happy commentary, trying to point out all the neat things from the ride (and keep her mind off the witch). We laugh at it now.

On trip #2 we tried it again and she thought she was really big because the ride didn't scare her at all. We enjoy it for the nostalgia of an earlier time, when it wasn't all about thrills.

Pan, on the other hand, we can ride twenty times in a row. It's my absolute favorite for nostalgia.

The original ride was better, before they changed it to the current version. Previously it was much scarier and the special effects were better.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I honestly don't remember what was changed. Can you refresh my memory?
