Snow in Northeast

Be careful to those who will be really impacted by this mess.

I live SE VA so this will be rain and wind to my immediate area,

Just checked. On Sunday they are saying chance of snow 50%, 3-5" in the Bangor area. That's OK; we'll be in NOLA and then Orlando!

Central Massachusetts here and weather underground has us about 10 to 11 inches total. Watch us get nothing.😁

I'm in the 8-10" range, don't have any plans for the weekend. Just hoping roads are cleared for work on Monday.

Now according to the real experts (insert sarcastic laugh here), high school students in my daughter's class are predicting 9 inches to blizzard conditions and definitely no school on Monday.

Cant believe how mild Boston's been, till this weekend when Im dropping him off at school. Hopefully I can get outta here on Sunday. Move in day is tomorrow and there is no plan B.

I am in central CT, 6-12 inches with some areas getting more than a foot. Seems like a big range but we are still a few days out.

Many areas in the Northeast haven’t had measurable snow in close to two years. This coming weekend might break that “drought.”

This past Sunday and Monday there were some Chicken Little reports of a foot or more of snow, but each day since that possibility has lessened. Now in my area it’s predicted to be mostly rain, with just flurries if any snow at all.

Yesterday my Shop Rite supermarket was packed. I don’t know if was snow panic, or because it was the first day of their Can Can sale, or because Social Security payments come out on the 3rd of the month. Maybe a combination of everything.

What’s your forecast?
Milk, bread, and egg shelves are predicted to empty over the next day or so as people stock up on far more than they'll ever need for a winter storm.

It makes no sense to me to stock up on stuff that will go bad if power goes out. we get a pizza then you can eat it cold later if need be.

Same as yours. Based on the Milk selection at my local Acme today, I think Tuesday's Senior discount day may have emptied the shelves. I didn't check bread or eggs😉.

Maryland here. Just read the forecast and it looks like a coating to 2 inches and then probably turning to rain. We are on the I95 corridor.

Since the pandemic kids in our area can still log on to school even if it is closed. Now they are hoping for power or internet to go down as well. lol

I'm in the 6"+ range and my phone app has been saying right around a foot for a few days now

That's the good thing about winter storms; if the power goes out you can use the outside as your refrigerator.

They're saying 6-12" for my area now. We'll see.

I just noticed the bottom corner of computer says "7 in. of snow Mon"

Gah. We haven't had much snow in the Midwest either. But I know our farmers need it !
Mild, mild winter here on the Canadian prairies too. We’re revelling in it but the lack of deep moisture will be an issue if we don’t get some significant snowfall at some point.

Our weekend forecast is calling for a storm too, but that never changes anybody’s behaviour. No run on groceries or gas or anything. We’re completely used to harsh weather and treacherous roads and practically never experience any power outages. We’ll all just carry on.

Now the forecast is for just rain in Baltimore. Earlier this week there were Snowpocalyse reports, but those rarely come true. I don’t think there was a major 12” or more snowfall here since 2016.

Yeah, the national news last night was framing it as the storm of the decade. To which my wife said...."seems like every winter storm in the east is now the storm of the decade"
This week’s “Storm of the Decade.” The weather forecasters do it all the time. DW follows a local TV weather person on FB and he was giddy with joy over the possibility of a huge snowstorm. Now he’s posting about his disappointment with sad face emojis.
