Snow in Northeast

Ours came in right on time - started late last evening and is still snowing now. Looks to be about 4" accumulated and the temp is down to -14C; our coldest so far this winter. Forecasts say we're in for more of the same for the entire month of January. :cold:It's kind of a bummer but yet no one will complain. This is much more normal than the great weather we've had so far and very much needed to the west in the mountains (ski resorts and snow-pack for spring run-off) and the north and east for next season's crops.

Does anybody know what the weather is like in Oklahoma in February? We're headed to OKC for our dream vacation (not!) and we've never been. Full Canadian winter gear needed or something else?

At least 12 inches here (I haven't been outside since about 6:15) and still snowing. The most recent news said up to 3 more, but I'm not sure what's coming down now will really amount to much. Then potentially more Tuesday evening, turning to rain, and then more Saturday.

York County Maine (Southern Maine). We got 15+/- inches at my house. On my drive into Biddeford for work, you could tell that they got less but still a good chunk (10 +/- inches)

DD says about an inch or two outside of Bangor. She said they swept the snow off the steps. Supposed to be in the upper 40s on Wednesday and again on Saturday. Could this be the Year Without Snow?

Wow, what a difference! (I've been to Biddeford, but not Bangor. How far apart are you?)

I'm in OKC! You shouldn't need full Canadian winter gear here in February. Weather is kind of all over the place in February here - could be snowy and cold (but not Canadian snowy and cold) or sunny and warm, or any combination of those things. Just watch the weather about a week out or so. Nobody knows how to drive in snow here, so be prepared for bad driving with even a hint of snow.

:goodvibes Thanks for the information - we're really looking forward to coming. Should I assume our rental car will NOT have snow tires?

They won't even know what snow tires are.

My kids school has already cancelled for tomorrow in WI. It's supposed to start snowing around midnight and have 2 inches on the ground by morning, with another 3 throughout the day. I'm very glad I have a work from home job if the schools are going to be like this. I really hope my wife is enjoying her week in Hawaii while I'm home with the kids.

Biddeford is about 150 miles south of Bangor. Yup, they frequently get worse snow/weather in southern Maine than we get up here!

And vice versa. I grow up just south of Bangor. Sometimes they get nailed with snow and we get very little in southern Maine. My mom lives in the same town as I do, three miles away, and we can sometimes I have a difference in the amount we receive.

It will definitely not have snow tires! We also do not get proper clearing of snow or ice on many roads here. I hope you enjoy your time here and that there is no bad weather while you are here. :-)

They had started with a 2 hour delay for schools here last night, by this morning they were all cancelled, except the community college which is opening at noon. I Woke up to another 3" on the ground and it's still coming down. They had predicted it would start as rain, turn to snow, accumulate 1-3", and then back to rain, with a flood watch, as the temps are supposed to go to 48 (Western MD). I have news for them. We are going to have more then 3" and it's not turning to rain yet. And it's heavy wet snow. Ask my back, it can tell you, lol.
Stay safe everyone

South of Boston coast and we got just a smidgen of snow. Supposed to be a lot of wind in the next day or two.
