Day 3 - 'Ohana
We left the park and headed towards the monorail. This was our first time on the monorail, woo hoo! The line seemed long but it moved pretty fast and we were heading to the Polynesian in no time. Yep, tonight we'd be dining at 'Ohana for a 7:50 reservation!
We got to the Poly super early, I think around 7. So we just walked around, looked in the gift shop, and relaxed in the lobby.
We checked in around 7:30. I have heard how behind they can be on seating, so imagine how surprised I was when our buzzer went off at 7:45- 5 minutes early!
We were brought to our table and I almost had a heart attack when they sat us at a window table, directly facing Cinderella's Castle!!
Major major pixie dust!!
Our food started coming out pretty quickly and it was hard to keep up with all of it! First was the bread, which was so delicious. I only had one piece though because I knew better than to fill up on bread!
Then came the lettuce wraps, wings, and pot stickers. The lettuce wraps were ok, nothing special. The wings and the pot stickers were amazing!! Between the 2 my favorite was probably the pot stickers. But the wings were delicious too, the sauce on them was so sweet and tasty.
Then came the noodles & veggies. Both, again, were really delicious! And then they started bringing the meats out. First the steak, then the pork, then the shrimp. The steak was, in my opinion, out of this world!! SO SO tender and had such a nice taste to it and wasn't fatty or anything! We all agreed the steak was a winner. The pork I really enjoyed, which is surprising because pork isn't always my favorite. But I thought the flavor was super tasty! My parents were kind of just eh about this. They both thought it was good, just nothing unique. Funny enough, our opinions on the shrimp were vice versa...they both loved it and I thought it was nothing special!
Overall though, this meal was such a winner for us. I was worried because I have heard that the food can be hit or miss. We all really enjoyed it and I just wish my stomach was bigger so I could've had more!!
Of course we had to save a little room for the bread pudding, which we all thought was yummy. I got a picture of it guys!!
As much as I was hoping to catch the fireworks from our amazing window seats, there was still like 45 minutes to go. So we settled the bill and headed out to the monorail to catch it back to Magic Kingdom. It must've been around 9 o'clock, so I asked my parents if they would be willing to stick around a little bit so we can see some of the fireworks from outside the park, to get a different vantage point, and they said ok!
While we were waiting, I was facing away from the lagoon and my mom was wandering around when I heard her say, "Hey, what's that??" I turned around and it was the Electric Water Pageant! PIXIE DUST!! I know it's a simple little show but it's been on my Disney bucket list and I was so happy that we randomly stumbled upon it!
That helped pass the time until 9:30, when Holiday Wishes started!
We didn't stay for the whole thing because we knew we'd be seeing it for real later in the week, but I loved seeing it go off over the train station. A totally cool view and awesome way to end the night!
We headed towards the buses and don't think we had to wait too long. We got a seat since we beat the fireworks crowd and the bus was empty! I have in my notes that we were back in the room by 10:15- not too bad!
Up next...a day in Hollywood
