Smidgy and the Grump, Freaky Friday, 11-06

I think nebo couldn't stand it that someone else besides him was injured. "hurt your hand? I'll show you one better!":lmao:
NEBO:
It just killed me after Wishes was over to have all these people passing me up on the way to the bus stop, and nothing I could do to stop them except try and trip them as they went by.

it killed me too! he kept apologizing to me, cause he knows how much I enjoy the "running of the bulls". It's become a quest to see how fast we can make it to the bus after wishes, fantasmic, or, the coup de etat (sp?) of the contest, illuminations. (actually, running is not allowed in the parks, which makes it all the more of a challenge.. to beat the crowds with fast walking, coupled with plenty of dodging and swerving. ).. I must admit, I'm a master of the art.;)

I think we're going to have to hold a science competition to see who can find a way to protect Nebo  you know like the ones they hold to see who can drop an egg without breaking it

Thanks for the refresher, and sorry about your foot.
I've been to WDW and back and finished my TR.
I was going to give you grief,

:lmao::lmao: My 5th grader just had one of those 2 days ago.....judging from the results, Nebo should be wrapped in 20 layers of bubble wrap, placed in a shoe box ,with 10 helium baloons on top.:rotfl:

Steve, with you and your sunny d's isn't it cocktail hour...all day?
Thanks to you, whenever my kids ask for a sunny d..I get suspicious.;)

I laugh till I cry every time you mention the Laurel and Hardy "incident".

Diane....I see you've come over to the "dark" side! :wizard:
I was very sceptical about the whole Twilight thing, ok I was a little snobbish about it. I love Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, so why would I like a teen vampire book?

Well, one day out of boredom I picked up my daughters copy, and I had it finished by the time she got home from school! I love that dang series!

DJ, nebo thinks anyone who keeps dif. hours than he is abnormal. don't you know that people who stay up late and sleep late in the morning are morally inferior than those who go to bed early and get up early?

I used to work from 10:00pm to 7:00am, go to school until 3:30pm, sleep for 4 hours, wake up and start all over again. Sometimes the 4 hours would only be 1 or 2 hours because of work at the high school theater.:scared1:

I think Breaking Dawn was the best book of all of them. I almost gave up with the first one, I found it pretty boring. But I had my kids take me to the movie as a christmas present last year. Well, their company at least, I paid for it, LOL.

Nebo, I am in an office building right outside the studios now. I can hear the TOT screams outside, and parade music. But too much frigging work to go in the park........

Heading over to Magic Kingdom saturday night, I was in a good mood.
Mr. Grumpy Gills was finally MIA. Warmer temperatures have that effect on me plus I"m also excited about staying for the first time in the BWV.

And for 88 bucks a night!

ssshhhhhh !!

YEah, those kinds of savings will always get me excited.

Ok, arriving at MK on a saturday night, we now have ourselves a quandry.
It's about 5 pm, and since this is our first time here today, we have not one single fastpass stockpiled for nighttime use. This is what we normally do since we have stopped buying hopper passes and can't hop.

Oh we walk and we run and we do it for fun,
We'll skip to my Lou and stumble a lot too

But we don't hop.

I really don't know what we would do without hopping. We had several ADR's in another park. Hopping is fun unless you have a million year wait for a bus that is completely packed when it shows up at the stop.

Our usual routine is rope drop, pool time, cocktail time, and nightime park time. In the mornings we gather fastpasses to use later when the park is full at night. Works like a charm.

I can't see during the day because my eyes don't adjust for a long long time.

examples;
Haunted Mansion
Dinosaur
Peter Pan
Snow WHite
Space Mountain
Spaceship Earth

That's just a sampling, but all those it's a waste of time for me to do during the day. Then some others a just better at night, like BTMR, EE, and Test Track.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I don't have sunglasses, and even with them, I have a hard time adjusting to the dark rides too. I usually get my vision back about when the t-rex attacks you, there's a bright flash, and my night vision is gone again.

But there was not Rope drop today. Just pool time, elevator time, cocktail time, cocktail time, and cocktail time.

Even with the extended cocktail hour, that still didn't stop me.

Tonight I'm packing!

OH NO!!!! Not another Elevator!!! Did you make sure it was empty before you entered it?

We have our good ol Sunny D's, plus I have a couple of little replacement rum bottles in my pocket.

Plus a couple of my "little friends" made the trip in the other pocket tonight.

Hey, I've been good with them this trip, but as the days are adding up, my foot is starting to look like if you took one of those rubber surgical gloves and blew it up. And going from all the really cold days to upper seventies played havoc on it too.

Yep, the "Incredible Amazing Weather Foot" was back.

And I couldn't turn it off.

Upon entering Diane handed me her Sunny D while she went through customs for her fanny pack, while I just walked right on past the security with enough ammo to put Mickey in a 30 day rehab.

Reminded me of the time we checked in Wilderness Lodge and the guy at the guardhouse asked me if I had any weapons.
I looked up at him and said "Whatdaya need?"

Yeah, that wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done either.

Smidgy: Isn't it great having someone else bring in something you could get in trouble for??? :rotfl::lmao:

Inside we headed right to the time board at the end of Main St. As we stood there gathering info, we saw it wasn't going to be too much of a problem tonight, fastpasses were still available for all but Space Mountain and times weren't horrendous, everything a half hour or less.

As we stood there, a cast member came up to us.
Now, this doesn't happen often with me, I think the bald head and moustache scare them away, but Raphael asked if we needed any help.

"Nope, just checking the wait time for Dumbo."

Do you know how the last two years promotion in Disney has been "The year of a million dreams"? I think we had 7 trips during that time, and not ONCE did a "Dream Member" or anybody come up to us even once and offer us anything.

So of course ol' Raphael hands us each two blank fastpasses with his siggy on them, to use anywhere.

Two for each of us, problems solved.

Right away went and used one on Buzz, then wanted to ride the TTA, but it was down, this is a first for me, don't think I've ever seen the People Mover down before.

It must have been really weird not hearing the overhead announcements as you passed under the TTA. Imagine how quiet that area would be. HMMM.:rotfl2:

We hadn't done it in quite a while, since it's probably the lamest attraction Disney has to offer, right up there with Journey into Imagination.

What am I talking about?

Stitch's Escape, of course.

It's still stupid, it's still boring, and I still can't see in there.

You know how when you waste time in a movie theater that you didn't like you can't get out of there quickly enough? Well, that's what happened to me.

When that stupid harness that traps you in your seat finally lifted, I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Dumb, dumb dumb.

Dum, de dum dum.

I couldn't see the concrete steps they have in there, my foot came down right on the edge of one, and I surely would have gone down if I hadn't swung my right foot around as hard as I could for balance.

This is my bad foot.

Bad foot met bad concrete stair, with all my might.

As the pain overwhelmed me, all I could do was stand there and stare. I just couldn't believe I just did that.

And all for Stitch.

Whom I don't even like!

This I knew was going to join me for the rest of the trip. It was actually my big toe that I hit, and I knew there was no point in looking at it, besides, I'd probably never get my shoe back on.

Diane saw what happened, again, but I said I'm ok, I just need a sitdown and a smoke right now so we headed over by Space Mountain to a smoking area there.

I agree about Stitch, ut my daughter really loves him, so we went too. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. Sorry about the toe. Nothing like a negative to bring back Mr. Grumpy. Although, I really do like Grumpy from The Seven Dwarves. He's my favorite Disney character.

Then we used our last fastpass on BTMR. You know, in all the dozens of times I have ridden this, I have yet to see the cowboys playing poker in a building somewhere while the town floods.
Oh well.

Spectro was coming, and we grabbed a couple of good spots over by Westward Ho refreshments.

After Spectro, which we dearly love, with my foot we barely made it all the way down Main St. to where we usually watch Wishes in time for the show.

It just killed me after Wishes was over to have all these people passing me up on the way to the bus stop, and nothing I could do to stop them except try and trip them as they went by.

Off the bus we went right to the food court, we were both starving, then back in the room it was still time to pack up yet.

I started, but I think I fell asleep with the suitcase on my chest.
Heck with it, I'll finish tomorrow. :lmao:

I can just see it now:

On your marks, Get set, LIMP, LIMP, LIMP, C'mon honey, I'm not getting a wheel chair just to exit the park... HURRY UP WILL YA?!? Limp faster!!!! I don't care how much you are hurting, I'm not going to stand on that long bus ride home!!!!!!! Wait, didn't we drive????:scared1::lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

Can't wait for more....popcorn::

I feel for ya, man...

No, really - the doctor says I sprained my ankle...

Wanna know how???

I sat on a couch for 364 days, then thought I could be out on a dance floor for 3 straight hours.

Turned out, I COULD.

But I'm paying for it... with a left foot the size of Cuba!

Ok Jaime, I am sorry about your foot, we seem to be kindrid spirits when it comes to feet, but in the immortal words of Mike Ditka, "Who you crappin?"

How can you say you "sit around 364 days a year", when you are walking around DIsney every other month for a week? Hey, say hi to Rhonda for me.

I think nebo couldn't stand it that someone else besides him was injured. "hurt your hand? I'll show you one better!":lmao:

No argument here, she is the best! Even dragging me after her, she can go from Illuminations to the bus stop before the last firework has settled into the lagoon.

Chelly, there is no way. They tried packing me in styrofoam peanuts once and I choked on one.

Thanks for the refresher, and sorry about your foot.
I've been to WDW and back and finished my TR.
I was going to give you grief,
but I forgot you drag your TR's out foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Again, can't argue here either, I have been dragging them out lately. This puter on dial up is getting slower and slower, and it doesn't help when the web sites get fancier with more animation and pictures now, since NO one else is on dial up anymore. I'd get a new puter but I dread the idea of having to transfer all the files I want to keep, and all the new puters come with Vista, which is about to be replaced since it sucks so much.

:lmao::lmao:

Diane....I see you've come over to the "dark" side! :wizard:

While I will admit to reading every one of the Harry Potter books, uh uh, no way am I joining the Stephanie craze, I was forced to watch Twilight, and I could take it or leave it.

I used to work from 10:00pm to 7:00am, go to school until 3:30pm, sleep for 4 hours, wake up and start all over again. Sometimes the 4 hours would only be 1 or 2 hours because of work at the high school theater.:scared1:

yeah yeah, and uphill both ways too, I'm sure.

Marita, I"m sad. I was hoping to meet you agian at "Beaches and Cream". So, now do we meet in an automat and for coffee and a bag of chips?

Hi! I have been so out of the disney loop.:guilty: Going back to read all your fine stories. It's good to be back...I missed ya

They tried packing me in styrofoam peanuts once and I choked on one.

Of course you did

With the way you drag these reports out, I should miss much while I'm gone this week right? ;)

Hi! I have been so out of the disney loop.:guilty: Going back to read all your fine stories. It's good to be back...I missed ya

Me too! I must have left off waaaaay back at the beginning somewhere. Don't write too much for a few days Nebo... give Lady and I a chance to catch up! ;)

LADYMAR and LBAW!!!! welcome welcome!!!

and.. Underdog: even if nebo isn't "impressed" polly purebread here gives you props!

You are soooo incredibly lucky mister!!!!

I am a big fan of Lost, the tv show, and I hate when they have a recap show. Why, because I am a big fan and I watch the show and I know this stuff already. But at least you threw some updated stuff in there. Like I said, lucky.

Smidgy I couldn't bear making you wait through 44 users.

Maybe the cold weather down in IL, is keeping them bundled up in their home and under the blankets, because it is totally against everything we stand for, to turn our furnances on in June. So they are hybernating like bears and sleeping and they refuse to do anything till the temps get to at least 70.

I hope everything is ok......I worry when my imaginary friends don't talk to me.
