I just received my documents yesterday and I leave in 1 week from today!
There was a letter from my TA (American Airlines Vacations) saying that Disney had not sent them the docs for DME and although I am still signed up, I will have to go get my bags and take them to the DME station at the Orlando Airport.

Kind of a bummer, since I was looking forward to the whole "Delivered to the room" thing.

I supose I shouldn't complain, it is a Free Service after all. (Actually it cost me a whole $2.00-still cheaper than a taxi)

Just needed to vent a little, thanks for listening!

I don't think you'll necessarily have to go and get your own luggage. DME can still get your luggage for you and deliver it to your Disney Resort room. They'll just need a description of the bags, baggage claim numbers for each bag, any other unique characteristics of your bags.

Disney Cruise Line picked up our bags this way when we arrived after one of the hurricanes last year. Our bags were delivered to our room at Port Orleans a few hours later all present and accounted for. :)

That's what my letter says. Although I supose it would not hurt to go to DME counter first and ask. The worst they can do is send me to the baggage claim...

THANKS!!!

I love these boards!

Well, I would call your TA and ask if they CALLED to see where you doucments were. They had time to mail you a letter, but not to contact Disney and see what was going on???? Some of these TA's do NOTHING for thier customers and then wonder why folks don't want to use them!

I did tlk to one yesterday. She said that Disney never sent them to her, so she could not send them to me....

I understand that, but others have reported that thier TA got Disney to overnight them directly to the customer. It sounds like your's went "I didnt' get them so you are outta luck" Not exactly stellar customer service!

Yeah, I know. Maybe I'll call back tomorrow and get a different person......
I have not had very good customer service with them from the begining.

And the airlines wonder why they are not liked!! Get on their case. Also find a contact at Disney and work on them.

If you do not get any tags, and it's beginning to look like you won't, just make your luggage stand out as much as possible. When we went to WDW in mid-June, I still hadn't gotten my yellow tags. So, this is what I dd. I made my own 'yellow tags'. Cut out strips of yellow construction paper in the size of the tags, then put my resort name on it, our date of arrival, and names. Also, the number of bags...1 of 2, 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and so on. THen I put a plastic stickie paper on it to protec it. Then to make it stand out even more...I got some blue satin blanket binding with Poohs all over it. Then sewed lime green grosgrain ribbon on the edge of that..making it about 3" wide and put a tie on each bag. Then, I took a picture of all my luggage with the Pooh ties and the 'yellow' tags on them. That way I could give the picture to the check-in people and they could retrieve my stuff. But wouldn't you know it?? The same day I did that (4 days before we were to leave!), my tags came via FedEx!!!!
