Small Point Add On

We have currently owners of 250 points at Vwl, and are considering buying a small add on of 25 points or something near that. Question is are these small point add on's available via resale or do we have to go to Disney for them. We do not mind which resort we buy at but would like to increase the points total over the next few years with small purchases.

I believe Disney is the only place you could do this. It just would not be cost effective to add on 25 points through resale. They stil have the same closing costs as larger contracts.

I agree with DIANE. We've purchased 2 BWV resales, but our 25 point add-ons have always been through DVC. Closing charges make them prohibitively expensive via resale.

Usually you cannot find small add-ons in resale market. Cost is also prohibitive because closing costs (which tend to be fixed) for a small contract are about the same for a large one (in the $500 range). Disney pays closing costs on its sales. Buyer usually does on resales. Thus, if you bought 25 points resale at $65 per point, your true cost per would be $85 a point with $500 in closing costs added, $10 per point higher than Disney.
