Hi~

My son has been taking swimming lessons since he was 3years old (now 6). The last couple of classes the swim instructors have suggested that he join a swim team. I asked my son if he was interested and he was very excited. I was going to sign him up for a junior league, but when they found out that he can swim the butterfly, front crawl and back stroke for 25 meters, they told me he needed to be in the regular swim team (8 & unders). He can't wait to start.

Wish him luck!

Thanks

YEAH! Good luck!!! Did he take to the water right away when he was 3? My DD3 is in swim class right now. She's so funny - the whole class will be in the shallow end of the pool and she's off in the deep end on her own. She does really well but at 3 it's just learning how to kick and do the arms. Has your DS been in class continuously for 3 years? I hope DD will want to be a part of a swim team someday.

Congratulations....my DD11 & DS8 are both on year-round competitive swim teams...actually, they're each on 2 teams.

You will love it!! The pool & other team members will seem like a 2nd home to you. Just buy plenty of extra goggles, practice suits, & get a good warm-up suit. (Actually, your team may have a team suit you can purchase).

And now all your son has to learn is breaststroke & he'll be ready for the IM (individual medley)!!

Have fun!!

He had to be fitted for the team's swim suit. I know it's funny, but he is excited, because he will also get a swim cap....he believes that this will make him "super fast".

Yes, DS has ALWAYS loved the water and has never been afraid of it. We have not had him continuously in class, mostly during the fall/winter and in the summer he swims at our pool in our community. It sounds like your DD is well on her way.

Very nice, congratulations are in order. :thumbsup2 Hoping he has a fun time. Great!!! :cheer2:

Good for him!! I hope his team does well.
