I'm in the process of planning our 3rd trip to Disney.

We've stayed off site in the past, however this time we'd like to stay on site.

I've seen pics of the refrigerator at POP and it is tiny! I was hoping to save some money on food by getting some groceries and at least having breakfast in the room and possibly some lunch items.

I can recall reading somewhere that people will pay it forward with small refrigerators and coffee makers etc. When they are done with their items/trip.

Can someone direct me to where I would find that?

Thanks!

If any refrigerator swaps are still going, they'd be on the budget board. Or check the Pop Century thread on the Resorts Board.
They were active a few years ago when the values didn't have refrigerators, but I'm not sure if anyone has kept them going.

You can actually squeeze a lot of stuff in those fridges. If you order groceries just put the main things that absolutely must go in the fridge in there. Milk you can buy from the gift shop as needed so you don't need to stock up on too much in your fridge. For juices buy them in the tetra packs that don't need refrigeration until they are opened, etc. You can pack a soft sided cooler as well to use and put some ice in it to keep extra things cool.

I think fridge swps went the way of the dodo when Disney put in mini fridges at the value resorts. Speculation was it was because bell services was getting tired of dealing with the fridges poel were swapping plus poel were leaving them in not very clean conditions.

More fits in those fridges than you expect. If they are the same ones that are in the DVC studios, we pack a lot in them.

Also don't forget that the shelf is removable so it allows for quarts of milk to stand upright. I can get a good amount in the value fridge.

Refurbished room at POP will have new refrigerators and they are supposed to be slightly larger than the ones that are there now. I agree with others that with a little careful planning you can get a lot into one of those fridges. If all you want is milk, juice and some luncheon meat type things you should be good.
