slumber party activites?

DD got a call tonight from a girl in her class.

She asked dd on Friday is she could come to her party and she wanted to know if she could. :sad1:

I gave dd the limit a 9 girls and it just breaks my heart that some girls have to be left out.

This girl is new here (only about 4 months) and dd wanted to invite her but she got "cut" in the process of elimination.

I wish we could just invite tons and tons of girls, but it's just not possible. :guilty:

We did a sleepover in Dec for my 10 yo daughter and High School Musical was a big hit with all the girls, Karaoke and dress up were also pretty high on the list. My older dd 13 gave each of the girls a home made henna tatoo (you mix cornstarch, food coloring and water together to make the paste then let it dry on the skin, it peels off and you have a tattoo that lasts for a few days) She also gave them all home made facials, manicures, pedicures, and makeovers. For party favors, I went to the dollar store and bought hair stuff, glittery makeup items, stuff like that. The kids made homeade biscuit pizzas and I had several snack items as well. For breakfast they ate pancakes. Overall, our party was really inexpensive and the girls had a blast!

that sounds cool! How did she apply it? with a paint brush? Do you think you could spell something with it instead of a henna design?

My DD (soon to be 11) is having a sleepover in 2 weeks. Some of the things I have planned are:

-Painting t shirts
-Signing a pillowcase for my DD
-Games: Don't break the Bubbles (Bubble wrap they have to walk over whoever doesn't break any wins)
-Bouncy Ball races (those bouncy balls w/ handles)
-Sniff out the Kitty (it's a dog themed party)
-Guess Who (take turns hiding in sleeping bags and guessing who it is)
-Who's the Better Kisser? (A poster of Shrek or Yoda, etc.) each girl is blindfolded and you put a different color lipstick on her. each girls "kisses" the poster and whoever is closest to the lips wins) Kind of like Pin the tail on the donkey..kicked up a notch.
-WHo knows Meghan the best.
-Eye Toy 2
_movies

Hopefully it goes over well!

Awwwe! What a hearbreaker!! I know what you mean though -- you have to draw the line somewhere. It's still a hearbreaker, though.

She used the items that came with her henna tatoo kit she bought a year or so ago but she said a thin paint brush both the brush for filling in and the tip for drawing the outline and making dots will work. You can make any design or spell something, do whatever you like with it. It doesnt last as long as the actual henna kit but its alot cheaper. Neon food coloring does not work as well as the darker colors, blues and greens seem to work the best. The book she got the recipe out of is the same book she got all the homeade facials and bath stuff out of. The book is called Girl Zone: The Girls Spa Book. It has lots of neat stuff in it.
