What size bed do you sleep on????

*My Dh and I sleep on a king size bed.
I love my Dh, but I like my space when I sleep. I'm not a cuddler, spooner or anything else - I want no touching when I sleep (do you have any idea how much my friends make fun of me for this:rolleyes:). When we go on vacation, it's very important for me to make sure that we have a queen or king size bed, because I know I will not sleep if we have a room with a double bed:sad2:. In fact, there are many resorts I would have liked to stay in at WDW, but they only had double beds, so that took care of that idea. I know that WDW is rehabbing many resorts, and queen size beds will either be standard or an option. Maybe I can finally stay somewhere other than The Poly, Wilderness Lodge or The Contemporary (we did stay at Coronado Springs because they had queen size beds, but I was so unhappy there that I would never stay there again unless it was free).

I am not a "sleep-toucher" either but I do tend to sleep very quietly and still in a contained amount of space. We have a queen because I hate the way a king fills a smaller room and we have no trouble managing for a few nights on a double. Ideally one day we'll have separate beds or (be still my beating heart :cloud9:) separate rooms! Is that a weird thing to want?

We have a king and I will never go back to anything smaller. I do like to cuddle but my husband would push me out of bed even in a queen.

Slo not sure what resorts you want to stay at but POFQ has king beds, we have been upgraded more then once.

140 cm x 190 cm - Think that's a double - It's a standard size here as our rooms are smaller ;)

Slept for years on a Double. Upgraded to a Queen a few years ago. I see no reason to go to a King.

POFQ has queen beds as standard, now. We have a queen. Our room is too small for a king.

We moved to a king when our kids were toddlers and would climb in to sleep with us. Now, I just love the space and the fact that if my DH moves or gets up, it doesn't disturb me! I'm not a "sleep toucher" either. If we travel and sleep in a queen bed, we are constantly bumping each other when we turn or move. It makes us both grumpy.

Queen at home. 2 Doubles in Hotels, we each have our own bed then, and I love it :cloud9:.
We may consider a King one day but, I.. don't.. know. I'd love the size but, making the bed maybe not so much. Owners of Kings are they harder to make?

king......same as you, slo.....I like distance when sleeping.
Queen is acceptable when traveling, but not as comfortable, and no way for a double!

King for us! I am not a sleep toucher either. My DH works nights so we only actually share the bed for about 2 hours a night (from 5-7am). Those last 2 hours I don't sleep as well. I LOVE having the bed to myself. He takes over my side and I end up hanging on the edge of the bed>:(

I can except a queen for travel but usually we stay in a timeshare condo and it usually has a master suite with a king:thumbsup2

When we first started living together we shared his double bed. It was all nice & snug. Then as the years went by we ended up buying a King bed. LOVED it!!!

Back in 2008, I fell and hurt my back pretty bad. Ended up sleeping in the recliner (living room) since I couldn't lay completely down. Let me tell you, that ended up being some of the best sleep I ever got. I was comfortable, didn't hear him snore or breathe and didn't have him stealing all the covers or hogging the bed (yes, even with a King). So believe it or not, I am STILL sleeping in the recliner over 6yrs later. I like how I can finally get some sleep and have all the covers to myself. LOL

While vacationing we usually get a room with two beds, so it doesn't matter if it's double or Queen or King. We will each sleep on one.

We had a double for years. When it came time to buy a new bed we were going to get a Queen set but fell in love with the King and all that space. We still sleep together fine on vacation in a Queen or a Double, but I really do like having my own space in the bed.

ETA) and I don't find the King harder to make really. You just accept you are going to have to walk around to the other side of the bed. When you have a smaller bed you tend to lay across it and try to tuck from the side you are on lol.

We have a queen and sometimes I wish we had a king. I am not a sleep toucher at ALL (love that phrase) and I like to stretch out. We bought a bed last year and went with the queen simply for space purposes. Our next bed will probably be a king because it will be down the road and hopefully we'll be in a bigger house by then.

We have a queen at home because a king wouldn't fit in our room, but ohhhhhh, how I would love one. We try to request a king whenever we're staying in a hotel just because I love them so.

When we first got married, we had a double. I got NO SLEEP. I mean, I know we were newlyweds & weren't supposed to be getting much sleep anyway, but, even when we were "asleep," I wasn't sleeping. I'm way too much of a light sleeper to actually sleep that close next to someone.

Very quickly, we upgraded to a queen. A queen was as big as our bed frame would go. Plus, in our first house, our bedroom was really too small for a king-sized bed.

Even after we moved into our current home, we slept on a queen for years. I thought a king-sized bed would overpower the room.

However, about 5 years ago, my parents wanted to get rid of the king-sized mattress & box springs that they'd had in the guest room. It had only been slept on by my sister & her husband when they visited from out of town. When my sister & her family moved back to our city, my parents didn't have a need for the bed any more.

So they gave it to us. At first, I was really hesitant because I was afraid the bed would be too big for our room. Turned out, I was wrong! A king-sized bed fits just fine in our room. Plus, I adore the new king-sized bedding we purchased!

And DH & I love sleeping in a king-sized bed!

When we go on vacation, we normally rent a condo that has a king-sized bed. Most hotels have queen-sized beds which work fine. But I would not stay in a hotel that just had double beds. When we first starting going to Disney, there were some resorts at which we wouldn't stay since all they had in their rooms were double beds.

Anyway, to the person who asked, I don't have any problems making our king-sized bed - it's no more trouble than making the queen-sized bed was.
