I am not a "sleep-toucher" either but I do tend to sleep very quietly and still in a contained amount of space. We have a queen because I hate the way a king fills a smaller room and we have no trouble managing for a few nights on a double. Ideally one day we'll have separate beds or (be still my beating heart) separate rooms! Is that a weird thing to want?
My parents had separate rooms since as far back as I can remember. I grew up thinking that was the norm.
We have a queen....a few years ago when we bought a new mattress we were thinking of going with a king, but decided to stick with the queen. A king size bed would have fit, but may have overpowered the room.

I'm a serious bed hog and so is the dog!
Now if/when he comes off the road permanently we may have to re-think the whole thing.
). If we try to sleep together in a double bed, or even queen, neither of us sleeps well. We do sleep fine together in a king size bed though, so whenever we stay in a hotel if a king size bed is available we'll get that. But at home we each have a queen size bed.

This past winter break I ended up sleeping on the couch for a month, which was also not particularly fun. But we're renovating this summer, so I'll hopefully be getting a full!
