Space Mountain is celebrating it's 50 Anniversary this year, which makes me feel really old - LOL! I remember, like yesterday, riding this ride as a child and finding it so exciting. My first trip to WDW was in 1976 and I was 5 years old, so I've ridden this ride many times. As an adult, every time we visit WDW, I say to myself........Sandy, DO NOT GO ON THIS RIDE!!!! and every year I do - LOL!!! As fun as this ride is, I feel broken every time after I ride it - especially my neck. Our next trip is in 52 days, and I know I'll ride it again, and feel the effects of it for days after it - LOL!! So let's rocket 🚀 to your answers today.....

Have you ridden Space Mountain in the past?
If yes, do you enjoy this ride?
(multiple choice)

*Space Mountain opened in DL in 1977. It doesn’t matter where you rode the ride to participate in this poll.

For Me......I've been blessed to have ridden this ride every decade that I have listed (my neck may not feel so blessed afterwards :lmao:) I say blessed, because I understand how expensive a WDW trip was in the past and still is today, and I am very grateful that my parents took me as a child and that I/we've been able to take our children throughout their childhood. There is a day approaching where I won't ride this ride anymore, but that day is not in 2025 :sad2: :lmao:

I also was on People Mover with Space Mountain lit up,Very boring looking.
I have ridden at both WDW and DLR. I don't ride it either place anymore, but I have ridden at DLR in the last 5 years. Took DGS on it. I would ride again if one of the grand kids had no one to ride with.
DLR is much smoother.
I was on WDW's one time with a friend and it flung her around so much, her beaded necklace broke and all the beads went flying everywhere.

Never rode it. Big chicken here. Took years for me to go on splash or thunder mountain. Not doing a ride in the dark.

I've ridden Space Mountain at both WDW and DL. I love it! Nevermind the backache that it provides - you've made me realize I should take a precautionary Advil the morning of my next visit to MK in February.

A few years ago, DS and I were "rescued" from the ride after it broke down while we were on it at DL. It was very cool to see the structure with the lights on. I took a video - naughty, naughty.

I ride Space Mtn at least once every trip to WDW. It is jerky, but never bothers me.

I like it when they have complete darkness during MNSSHP, and during MVMCP when the lights make the track more visible. I remember at least one AH event when you could just follow the colored line on the wall and get right back on without walking through the whole line.

I've ridden both. I prefer WDW, the jerkiness is part of the charm. I've also been on the one in DLP, which is great.

I've ridden the one in WDW, and will cheerfully do so once a trip if DS and DH want to. - If they want to go again, they're on their own! I like the story, but always feel like the ride itself beats me up a little. I have seen it once with the lights on.

I love it, but mostly now because my kids love it so much. My neck definitely feels it after I get off. But, my youngest rode it when she was five, and the giggles I heard from her in front of me made it worth it. I do like the idea of a precautionary Advil ahead of time, though...I think that would help ;)

I’ve ridden Space Mountain at both WDW and DL. WDW’s version is too rough for me and it’s been about 12 or 13 years since my last ride. I still enjoy DL’s version.

My first visit to WDW was in April 1975 when Space Mountain was a few months new. My family and hundreds of others ran to it at rope drop. The wait was maybe 15 minutes. Later that day my father and I waited well over an hour to ride it again.

I've ridden it every trip since my first one in 1982. I feel a bit broken, like you @slo, after from being cramped into those little seats!! I've rode both WDW and DL and it's amazing to me how much smoother a ride DL is.
