I think companies should just accept that productivity is going to be down on the Monday after the Super Bowl. If I owned a business I sure wouldn't schedule some new project to start on the Monday after the Super Bowl.

If you have the PTO/sick days and want to take the Monday and are not violating company policy, take it off.

I don't particularly care what day it is. Unless my team is in it, I don't really make a big deal of it (parties, drinking, etc.). I've never called out of work the day after the game, but have skipped work/school for victory parades (though not since 2011 when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup).

As much of an event as they make it now, I would prefer it be on Saturday. No to being a holiday, no private enterprise should be able to influence what becomes a holiday. I've never taken the next day off. The game ended last night at 9:15 or so my time, I was still in bed by 10, even if I had gotten hammered, I would be ok by work the next day.

The game should stay on a Sunday since Sunday's are for the NFL but I do think the game could start at 5:30 EST but I know that messes up the West Coast viewers. I have not had a team in the Super Bowl since my college years - I am a suffering Bills fan - but if the Bills ever make a Super Bowl again and finally win I will definitely be calling out to drive (We live 45 minutes away) to Buffalo for the parade so not the following day but 1 day that week after.

I am off today, scheduled ahead as a vacation day. I know we are always going to be out too late and I need time to clean up and catch up with what I didn't get done yesterday. It might be good to move the football game to Saturday to make it easier on people. While I don't actually care about the game, I like the social aspect and it is hard do work the next day. Therefore, I always schedule a vacation day for that "day after".

No, I’d rather keep it Super Bowl Sunday.
Plus, it gives the 2 teams competing 2 fulls weeks off to prepare. I have always taking the Monday off from work and schedule my year physical for that day. The date always changes and it’s a perfect reminder for me for my physical. When I return to work tomorrow, I will put the request in for 2026.

I don't really care which day is the Superbowl. I have legitmately called off the day after the Superbowl once about 10-12 years ago. I had a migraine with vertigo and vomiting. There was no way I would have made it to work.

I don’t watch the game but since it is a long standing tradition to have it on Sunday, my vote would be to start it a little earlier instead of changing the day. People simply need to take more responsibility for their actions and either proactively schedule a PTO day for Monday or not party to the point they can’t function the next day. There is no reason to declare a holiday that many people probably wouldn’t be able to utilize anyway.

We haven't watched the Super Bowl in years. Last Super Bowl party we went to was before our son was born 38 years ago. Not just Football, but we have written off all Professional Sports. The owners don't care about the fans, and the prices are crazy. Used to go to Spring Training, even THAT has gotten expensive, $60 a seat for a Split Squad Spring Training game was the final nail in the coffin. Last went in 2020, literally left Phoenix on the day they canceled the rest of Spring Training due to Covid.

I have never called off the day after the Super Bowl. I couldn't really care any less about any football game, but I usually watch that one due to the spectacle. Last night, we went to my sister's for snacks and that was fun... but we came home right after the half-time show and watched the rest from here, and went to bed after.

I really don't care which day they play the game, but I think making the day after a holiday sounds kind of ridiculous. People should schedule the time off if they want it. I won't be vying with them to request it off, so... have at it!
