I love reading and I only like to read regular paper books. I love the whole experience of reading - sitting in your spot, turning the pages. I get enough screen time and I don't want any more. My kids use Chrome books and online reading resources at school so I only have them use regular books at home. It's just too much screen time.

I don’t read so much anymore, but go through binges at times. Have never tried an e-reader and not really interested. I like the feel of physical books, turning the pages, and the smell, lol. I’ve also recently been turned on to audiobooks by my son. They are great for multitasking; you can listen while driving, exercising, cooking, etc.

I enjoy reading, but there's just so little time for it these days. The last time I had time to really sit down and read, I was recovering from surgery and was forced to stay in bed quite a bit. I prefer a physical book just because I enjoy seeing my bookmark move through the inches of pages.

I always have a book I am reading. I like paper books but also use the kindle app on my iPad. I don’t pay for books I get them from the library or free through Goodreads.

The battery on my nearly 10 year old iPad is starting to drain fast. Not sure what I’ll do if it stops holding a charge all together.

I love reading!! I'm a paper book fan in general (the smell, the feel, browsing a library or book store...) but I do have the Kindle and iBooks apps on my devices, and they come in really handy for traveling and stuff. I definitely enjoy audiobooks as well - there's room for every type of book in my world!

I read every night at bedtime. Only way I fall asleep.

I love reading! When I crawl into bed at night and read, it's my favorite part of my day. I don't have an e-reader. I love paper books. I am on electronics all day, between my cell phone and my work computer. So I love to unplug and read a paper book!

I read 70-80 books a year.
Everything is on my e-reader. I don’t have to worry about storing and dusting all those books, and I can have a new one at any time of day without physically going to a store or library.
Plus, a lot less trees have been killed.
And, even if I don’t have my ereader on me, if I find myself somewhere waiting and bored, my phone has the app synced with my nook so I can pick up my book wherever I am.

And I don’t see how screen time is an issue - you’re reading a book. There are e-readers that are literally like pages of a book (kindle paperwhite and nook glowlight).

I loved, Loved, LOVED to read books. I learned never to start one late at night because I'd end up staying up, reading it all night, if it's really good.

Then I got botched Lasik eye surgery. Now I have a real problem reading up close, even with reading glasses, and have sharp shooter vision in which I can now read road signs a half mile away. :magnify:

It's really affected my love of reading. :sad1: I use a tablet, or my computer or my smartphone and super-enlarge the font to read now. But, it's just not the same.

I read a lot, and only on my Kindle Paperwhite. Just about every night before bed, occasionally when I get up early and it's how I pass the time on every flight, and I'm on too many flights. I went to a Kindle a few years ago and then jumped to a Paperwhite last year. It's just about perfect for me.

I used to read lots of books. Then started with e books. Can read anywhere. I always have my phone on me. Can read in the car, or living room or porch. Don't need to carry book around with me. But now I listen to lots of books. Can do all kinds of boring chores while listening to books.

DH only reads books. I ordered Ivanhoe in large print from another library. That book could stop a truck. It's huge. The print is like extra extra extra large. So hard to order books from library, never know what the text size will be.

I wish I had time to read! I always loved reading but I’m lucky to get through a book a year recently. Though I do still read aloud to my daughter every night, so I guess that counts.
This is one of my biggest peeves in life. People who say they don't have time to read.

I work full time and have kids and do elder care. What you choose to do in your downtime is what you choose.
People who say they don't have time to read seem to be insinuating they are so much busier then other people.
Just say I choose to do other hobbies instead of reading.

Sorry I just find myself very prickly about the "I don't have time to read" line. If you don't want to read, don't read.

My whole family loves to read and rarely go anywhere without a book. Now days, that's a kindle but I also have the app. on my phone. My son reads 100% with the app. on his phone. Hubby reads 100% on his kindle and never uses the app. I also have the paperwhite. I think between hubby and me we have had every single type of kindle that has come out. We have given some away to family but I still have the very first original one and it still works. Sometimes I will take it on long road trips and listen to a book through my car radio using text to speech. That is not on the paperwhite and I don't download audio books onto my phone. The only time I read an actual paper book is cookbooks or if someone gives me one. I sometimes get free ones from authors.

I have done both but mostly real books. Last book I read was $36 on Amazon for a real book, and $34 to download the Kindle version. For $2 extra I got the real book.
My wife is constantly checking out e-books from our library, and she usually is reading one e-book and one real book at the same time.

I read from both, but over the last several years, it's been audiobook only, so that I can "read" while doing other things.
