Are you someone that likes to read?
Many people feel very strongly about reading from a book or e-reader.
So I ask you……

Do you prefer reading from a book or an e-reader?
Do you strictly use one or do you use both?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I’m a 100% e-reader. I do not deviate - it I can’t get a book for my Kindle then it wasn’t meant for me to be read. I use a Kindle Paperwhite - it travels with me and I also have it on my phone. What started me using a Kindle was the first time I decided to read The Harry Potter books in 2010. The books are so big that my hands were falling asleep when I was holding them while reading in bed, and my little book light wouldn’t stay on good, that I got frustrated. So I asked for my first Kindle for Christmas 2010 and it was so wonderful - light weight, easy to hold and easy to travel with. I got my Paperwhite about 5 years later, which I love even more. I have no desire to ever read a regular book again for the reasons I mentioned and for so many more. I love my Kindle - it’s one of my favorite things I own.

Avid book reader here I read every day I go through a book about every two weeks I read regular books no E readers at this point in time no desire to get one although I probably should save me space for all these books I keep so I can read them again and again and again because a few of them I have read several times
Of course it makes it hard to get them signed by an author because I won’t be having him sign my e-reader🤣🤣🤣

I'm not sure what qualifies as a lot of books, but I always have a book on my nightstand. I've read more than 30 books so far this year, so I guess that qualifies as a lot of books. :)

I am 100% paper books. I tried reading on my iPad, but I hated how you no longer had the geography of where you are in a book. And I like to be able to read a book without having to turn anything on. :) I get most of my books from the library, so it doesn't cost me anything to read a book. :)

Just to let you know….

With a Kindle you can choose for it to always say how much you have left in the book or chapter - it’s always in the bottom left corner. I have mine set to how much is left in the chapter. Also, your library probably allows you to check out digital books. I get only library books, which is free and so nice. The only time I buy books is if it’s something I know I’ll be reading again, so I bought all The Harry Potter, Twilight, Chronicles of Narnia and some other collections 🙂👍🏻

Huge reader here! Probably read about 50/60 books a year.

I use my e-reader every night when I go to bed and to travel.
Still get specific print books from library as I’m too cheap to buy ebooks at full price.

Love to read, and I know the names of all the librarians at my local library. I do own a Kindle, which I do use at times when traveling, but I greatly prefer paper books. I agree that reading on my Kindle does sometimes create issues when navigating a book. Sometimes you want to return and review a passage, and with a paper book that’s much easier to do.

I love to read - I go through spurts where I’ll finish a book every couple days, then others where I get busy and don’t read for weeks, so it’s probably in between overall. I put that I read from both, but I mostly use e-readers. I have a Kindle Paperwhite and use Libby to get library books - it’s the best thing ever! My daughter just got her own library card and I set up Libby on her iPad - it’s one of the only apps that I don’t put a time limit for her and she’s been tearing through books!

On the iPad, with the latest update, you just lightly tap anywhere on the screen and the page count appears at the center bottom of the screen like “235 of 396”. Older versions of iBooks showed a scroll line down the right side, but they removed that.

It is more than just a bookmark of where I left off when reading a paper book than an e book. I can tell how much more of the paper book I have left by looking at where the bookmark is. It is being able to go back a reread a section of the book because I have a general idea of where the passage was in a paper book. :)

I read a book or two a month, not including the ones I have to read for work or my daily devotional. I had artificial lens transplants a few years ago and the changes to my eyesight made book print challenging. I starts downloading library books to my iPad and the font adjustments and backlighting has been game changing. Almost all my leisure reading is digital now.

I'm a reading fiend. I read voraciously, most nights. I read everything that interests me-autobiographies, history, true crime, and romance, etc. I do not have any kind of e-reader...I love going to the library. I'm blessed to have one not too far from me that has a great selection and gets new books in every week. I tried a Kindle, and hated it. I spend enough time in front of a screen. I like to pick up a book, find my page (with one of my handmade bookmarks) and read in the dark with only my book light to illuminate the pages.

I voted that I only use an e-reader now. I'd like to read books but my "reading" vision has gotten so bad. Even with strong readers on, sometimes the fonts in a printed book are just too narrow, or the paper is shiny or something that makes it very hard for me. Getting old is tough!

I love to read and do so everyday. I have the Kindle app on my phone. I prefer it cause it’s more comfortable to hold and I can increase the font size and lighting.
