I have a CD player in the kitchen, and one upstairs. I use the one in the kitchen sometimes. Mostly listen to music on Amazon Prime, Spotify or SiriusXM in the house. My old car had a CD player and I do miss that as the car I have does not.

Still have one in my car and one in the house-actually a blue-ray that plays CDs. Funny story- back when CDs first started hitting the market, I swore I wound never give up my beloved albums for CDs. Then I won a contest at work and the prize was....yup, a 5 disk CD player.! and yes I still have all my albums , slowly converting them to digital.

Two in the house, one Blu-ray in the entertainment center and the other in the desktop PC. Neither are used. One in each of our cars, not used. I use Amazon Unlimited Music and or Sirius/XM in both the car and at home. I do have a ton (several hundred) of vinyl LP's from the 50's/60's/very early 70's, but no player. :confused3

I use the CD player in my car all the time when there's nothing good on the radio.

I could play a CD on my laptop, but aside from that we don't have any CD players in the house. I usually pull stuff up on the tv on Youtube or Amazon music if I feel like listening to anything in particular.

I have one in my car, but I listen to Sirius and rarely play a CD. My husband has one in his car and uses it all the time. He would miss not having a CD player in his car. In the house, we listen to Amazon music using Alexa.

We still have a boombox style CD player, but don't use it anymore. I still have all my CDs because I keep telling myself I am going to download them into iTunes so I can load them onto my phone, but I haven't done it.

We have one in the car - never use it. Back in 2006/2007 we got our first iPods, I put all of our CDs in iTunes then, and have kept up with it since. I have a portable drive for CDs for my laptop.

Now we use our phones for music in our cars. Usually when I'm on a trip alone, I listen to books (I have a lot from the library back in the day, and also from Audible). I also have music playlists for holidays, favorite music (hello, 1980s!) and for some of those early books, which have multiple CDs associated with the title.

Old school, yes. I don't do the Spotify thing, but do have some music downloaded from Amazon Music.

I have a CD player in my car that gets used constantly. I don’t drive anywhere without a CD in the player. I have a case with maybe 50 CDs that stays in the car. I didn’t buy the car for the CD player (I was more interested in getting a car that came with with a spare tire) but I was glad it had one.

I have a surround sound system in the family room that plays CDs which gets used on a semi frequent basis. It also has a VHS player/recorder, to give you an idea of its age. But it has excellent sound and you can hear it through the whole house, so it’s good for entertaining.

I have a portable CD/cassette player that doesn’t get used very often. I used to have it at work, where it did get used a lot. I would take my CD case from the car to my office and back.

My laptop has a CD player and I have copied some of my favorite CDs to my tablet and old phone, but my laptop doesn’t recognize my new phone, so I am not sure how to do that going forward.

I have many CD’s that I listen to, and I listen at home and in car with a portable device, but that doesn’t play well.

I was very unhappy when we couldn’t even add one to our car. Time marches on….but without so much music I love. :guilty:

:confused3 I’m not sure if my current car has one (2021 Mazda); I’ll make a point to look when I go to work. My current laptop also does not have a disc drive so I guess the only device I’ve got that would play a CD (which we absolutely never do anyway) would be the old desktop tower that functions as our home network server.
My 2016 Mazda I got rid of this past Spring did not have a CD player.

I was shocked my 2018 Audi I found one in the glove box.

In the home, my xBox is broken but I never used it to play CDs. I have an old laptop that doesn't work all that well, but it does have a CD/DVD player. The laptop as a whole isn't the greatest. My fairly new gaming machine does not have a CD/DVD player.

My computer has a CD player/burner
I have a boom box with CD player
I have an AM/FM radio with cassette deck, CD player/burner and turntable.
I have a DVD/CD burner VHS combo
I have a DVD/CD player combo
My wife has a CD drive that connects to anything you want with a USB cord
My 2018 Ford has the base radio with a CD player
My wife's 2020 Toyota has the base radio with a USB imput so she can use her CD drive in the car

We have Sirius XM in both cars and it is included with our Dish Network subscription on the TV. That is what we generally listen to (like I am right now) however from time to time they have annoying guest DJs on and I subscribe to listen to music not people talking, so that is when we use the CD players.

Why wouldn’t it be worth it to put on your phone?
My phone is almost full. One of the things on the eventual "to do" list is to take all the videos and photos off that I already backed up. I have many CDs and I don't know how many I could possibly get on the phone. Plus, I don't have that much free time. Sounds like an easy task to do, but 2 little ones constantly interrupt when you are trying to do little things like that.

Have several in the house and one in the car. Most of my CDs are ripped to my hard drive which is mainly how I listen to music (several hours a day.) I'm keeping the CDs and the player though, cos ya never know!:)

Sandy do you have a dvd or blu-ray player? Those play CDs too!
Thank you for this tip - I did not know I could do that. It’s a good thing I started this poll today - thanks again :goodvibes

Do you have a computer with a disc drive? Or know someone who does? If so you can rip your CDs and put them on your phone or a USB drive so you can enjoy them again.
We have a not good laptop that we need to replace. Once we do I’ll have to google how to do this and put a few of my CDs on my phone. Thank you for the advice :goodvibes

Ha, I get it, I had toddler twins when everything started going digital. Just for future if/when you decide to do it what I would do was grab a handful at a time and just insert one to rip as I was passing by. You’d be surprised how many you can get done doing that. I looked at it as a little side project I’d get done someday.

Not only do we not use it, I put all our CD's on my computer (with multiple backups) and got rid of all the discs.

I WISH my husband would let me get rid of the discs. I have it on my laptop and phone. He has it copied on HIS laptop and phone. And we have Amazon Music and can get any of the recordings whenever we want.

There is one in my wife's car, I have one in my desktop, we have a USB DVD drive and I have the various game machines and Blu-Ray players that all will play CD's. On the very rare occasion I buy a CD I will rip it on my desktop, add it to my phone and a couple USB sticks I have and usually listen to that. I think I last actually listened to a CD in 2020, before that probably 2015. My mini-van I took out the CD player and put in an aftermarket deck that has Bluetooth and USB ports.
