This. Except reverse the Hellman's to Duke's.Either one.
I buy Hellman's (or occasionally Duke's) when it's on sale, and sometimes you don't get the choice. If given the option, jar.
Same - except it’s got to be Hellman’s - nothing else tastes as goodI don’t typically put mayo on sandwiches; I use other condiments. Mostly use it for tuna salad and other salads, and it’s easier to scoop out a larger quantity from a jar. I buy the light variety of Hellmann’s or the store brand. Never had Miracle Whip.
I have my new word of the day, leebee, thanks.enrobes
You sound like a university professor, leebee. This creates an anaerobic condition- a situation where there is no oxygen- at the food/mayo interface. Many food-borne infections need an anaerobic condition to grow, so if these bacteria are on the surface of the food particle, voila! You've just created a jar-o-misery instead of a jar-o-mayo. I
My mom made potato salad once with Miracle Whip. I asked her what was wrong with the potato salad. She threw if all in the trash, which says a lot for someone who grew up in the depression, but it was awful.Miracle Whip ONLY!! I can’t stand anything else !!! Scoop & spread person here !!! Love my Miracle Whip !!!!![]()
Yes! This is why I always get the squeeze bottle!Mayo, whichever brand (including store brand) is on sale. I'd never heard of Duke's mayo until I went to Florida- it's not carried in New England, as far as I've seen. I also insist that a spoon be used to get the mayo out of the jar but a knife is used to spread it. Do NOT track crumbs, food particles, etc. back into the mayo jar. It's gross, and also how some food poisoning gets its start.
