I tried skiing when I lived Europe. I wasn't very good at it so I basically gave up on it. I still went on the ski trips and would do touristy things instead.

I have never tried it. Many years ago I almost went cross country skiing with a group of co-workers, but spring came early and conditions were poor the weekend we planned to go.

I skied (downhill) for many years, and got to be pretty good at it. Been to at least a dozen different ski resorts, mostly in the northeast, and a few out west. I don’t anymore due to an injury (not skiing related). DH is a die-hard skier; he goes at least once a year, with friends and/or with DS (who started on skis at age 5). I’ve cross-country skied a couple times too when I was younger.

No, never.
I've always wanted to go to a ski lodge and sit by a huge fireplace with a warm drink! That looks fun! My only winter activity was ice skating!

We skied as a family for a dozen years or so, until 2020 and the IKON pass came to the resorts. With the IKON came paid parking (free before) parking reservations Fri, Sat, Sun & CROWDS!!
Logically I know the IKON pass is a good move as skiing has become outrageously expensive and the IKON pass makes it more affordable, but the crowds from those using the pass made our experience truly awful and we stopped buying season passes and have turned to snowshoeing on local trails.

I love to ski, and have only tried alpine/downhill. We enjoy it as a family, so much so that our Matterhorn selfie was our Christmas card. I did not grow up skiing, so it’s been a process to learn as an adult. I’m finally to a good place and really enjoy it. DH and kids love the challenging slopes and off piste, I stick to greens and blues!

I've only skied once, but I've been snowboarding a few dozen times. It's really fun.

Never skied...my knees are too bad for it. I can see a ski resort if conditions are just right.

I learned to ski in my late 20s for free as a Teen Club chaperone and got paid to do it too. :-) I skied most of the small mid-Atlantic resorts (Liberty, Massanutten, Seven Springs, Wisp, Blue Knob, Roundtop, Wintergreen) for years and even at Killington, VT for a week. There were years I went one day every weekend January through March. I truly loved it even though I never got beyond Intermediate level. Eventually job responsibilities, grad school and raising a family got in the way. And now living in Colorado it's all around me but my knees and hips just won't take it. 😥

I downhill skie a coup of times. It was fun , but I hate the cold so it was short lived. Now I have arthritis everywhere with an artificial hip so no way would I again.

Never had any interest, even when I went to college at a school that had its own ski hill which I could see from my dorm room window.

I enjoyed it…probably haven’t gone since my late 40’s.

We went skiing once as a family but that was 13 years ago. We went to Steamboat Springs CO and it was awesome. We all had to take a half day ski class - my 2 DDs picked it up quicker than my DH and me - I remember the 2 of us were still on the bunny slope and I heard a “Hey Mom” and looked up and saw my DDs on the ski lift headed up to do a run - ha. After that trip I remember my husband saying - well it’s a shame that we now know how to ski and probably can’t afford to come back out here and do it again. It was so expense even with me being so cost conscious - one example renting ski equipment in town vs at the slopes.
My youngest DD is about to move to Denver so I am definitely saving up to do another ski trip next year! My brother and his wife travel with us a lot and want to go and give skiing a try - they are 75. They are in great shape and hike all the time but I definitely don’t want them to get hurt. If anyone has a recommendation of which ski resort out there would be the best for senior beginners please share! My DH wants to go back to Steamboat because we loved the green run called Why Not, but man is it even more expensive now! I feel like I would need a refresher ski lesson and of course my brother and his wife would too, and a 1 day lesson is like $350 each!
