When writing, do you prefer blue or black ink?
Do you use both?
(multiple choice)

For Me….I honestly prefer blue ink, but I only use black to write checks.
I do have some blue pens around the house for other things, like writing notes or making lists.
I only use black at work, because the doctor I work for doesn’t like blue.

I prefer black but sometimes the person who orders supplies gets blue so I’m stuck with blue - then I say order black - I get a box of black and everyone takes them and I’m stuck with blue again 🤣🤣 So I say again order black and they are like I just did and I’m like they are gone 🤷‍♀️ thus happens all the time - I have the same issue at home - they just disappear - proof gone - those blue pens - can’t give them away - I’ve tried !!

I don't write checks any more. That stopped when the neighborhood was bought out last year and the company has online rent payment. Previous landlord was at the entrance to the neighborhood and we paid by check or cash.

I use either. Whatever pen I happened to remove from my pocket after work and forget to throw in the pocket the next day at home. At work, I switch back and forth. Sometimes I throw caution to the wind and go with red.

Either, it depends on which pen I pick up.

8th Grade English class, or rather “Language Arts.” 1974-75. Mrs. Townsend. She said to write assignments in either blue, black, or blue-black ink. I never heard of blue-black, but, yes, there was such a thing. But I haven’t seen it in decades, not that I really looked.

I liked those fat pens with 4 colors, blue, black, red, and green.

One nun in Catholic school forbid ball point pens. We had to use cartridge pens, with messy little ink tubes.

I use whatever I pick up but if I had to give a preference I would say blue. I just looked at a check with an envelope that I am putting out in the mail and I used black ink.

I just use whatever is there. I'm pretty sure I have a purple pen clipped to my checkbook right now. If I were buying a pack of pens, I would probably choose blue over black if they were all the same style and price.

I use both & switch them up occasionally. We hand write a lot of contracts at work so I like a bold ink blue or black. I buy my own for my office so I get what I want.
I use red for certain notes on paperwork that is checked by anyone from main office that comes out to check files.
I do keep/order blue pens for our road test examiners as the DDS requires blue ink on the score sheet.

My own personal pen, which I 'always' have with me, is black ink. For the rare occasion that I don't have it, whatever is available. Not using a pen for checks though, only do a very, very few of those a year.

To find a working pen in this house .... I swear the majority of them I have to keep doing circles to get it started and 85% of the time it conks out on me halfway through using. IDK why pens come to die in my house.

With that said, you can guess I will take whatever color works. But if given the choice, I would chose black.

High school teacher with an office supply addiction - I love all pen. Any color. The more colorful the better.

That said, I only let my AP kids write in blue ink to prep them for the exam. Black is easier on the eyes than blue for the readers who will sit for hours reading essays!

No real preference. We get a lot of promotional pens from various businesses, some black, some blue. If I’m writing a check or addressing an envelope to mail, which I still do once in awhile, I avoid the gel-style pens that can smudge.

I used to work in banking and was responsible for IT and Item Processing. You should always use black or blue ink for checks. The readers don't pick up other colors as well and it slows production. IDK if this is still the case with remote deposits from your phone. You don't have to worry about finding a black pen to write a check.

I use whatever is around when I need a pen. I have several weeks worth of notes in my work notebook that are in green because someone left it on my desk.

My preference is blue ink, but I’ll use whatever pen I pick up. For work, I use only blue ink and only a certain ballpoint pen with the cushion area at the top.
