My grocery store was out of all Eggland’s Best options, so I bought store brand. 18 extra large eggs for $7.74, so 43 cents per egg.

NH here. Hannaford has had empty egg coolers for about a month. Just a dozen or two EXPENSIVE eggs on the shelves ($7-8+) which I WILL NOT BUY. All the $4.99 eggs are always gone. I live in a resort area and this Hannaford likes to overcharge for just about everything here...I drive 7 miles to that store. I hope TJ's builds here as they will make a killing!

We went to Market Basket Saturday and I paid $2.99 for medium eggs of inconsistent sizes. I will use an extra egg if baking or scrambling but I am tired (like everyone) of paying such crazy prices for a kitchen staple. I drive 20 miles to MB, so it is a destination when we are driving by and we load up.

I use at least a dozen eggs a week.

Was at my local Ralphs yesterday and eggs were still $8.99 a dozen. Target was out of house brand eggs (like they have been the last month or so) and had Egglands BEst for $8.59 I believe. I bought at Costco - $7.89 for 2 dozen. Best deal around by a lot. I actually ended up with 4 dozen eggs as I bought 2 of the packages. We were low on eggs and use a lot.

That's what they are here (Nebraska) as well. $4.53

We typically get the Eggland's Best brand and they are about a dollar more.

We don't go through eggs very quickly, thankfully.

$4.67 for the store brand ones now. All out of Eggland's Best at the grocery store and Walmart. Guessing due do avian flu.

Heads up ...

Georgia, by far the top producer of chicken in US and one of the top producers of eggs ............. is now on case #3 in just 2025 of the bird flu! State government is putting in lots of rules on the industry to try to contain. 🐥🐥🐥

Today our eggs are $3.49-$3.99 with a 2 carton limit. Gonna go hit a couple stores tomorrow.

Just lost a farm here in Cook County IL. Positive bird flu so they have to destroy the flock. Virus is just too contagious.

The Lincoln Park Zoo lost a harbor seal and a flamingo to the bird flu earlier this month.

I know absolutely nothing about raising chickens, but I've been wondering how this possibly can be contained when wild birds are cropping up infected regularly? It's really discouraging to think about. Really hoping better minds than mine can come up with an ingenious plan to stop a disaster.

$5.97 for store brand large eggs at Walmart today.
$6.12 for extra large.

For whatever reason, our Walmart is more expensive for eggs than the regular grocery stores.

Ours have gone down a little. A dozen large went from $4.29 last week to $3.99 today (at Kroger).

I get them at Whole Foods for $3.99/dozen, and it's been that price for at least a couple of years. They definitely have more expensive choices, and they have slightly cheaper options too. But the ones I get (cage-free) are $3.99. I feel like that's a decent price. We'll go through a dozen in maybe 7-10 days.

Kind of weird that Whole Foods eggs are cheaper than Wal-mart. But I've actually found several things they have that are cheaper than other major grocery chains.

I posted this earlier (1/11), but a couple of weeks ago I found my eggs that have been $3.99 for a couple of years are now $4.79.

I paid over $20 for 2.5 dozen yesterday, so over $8/dozen. Large brown store brand. They don't show that size on the website, but the smaller are a little worse. In CT.

As of last week I paid 5.79 at Wegmans for a dozen large eggs. Jumbo were 6.29.

Our local news ran a story about egg prices. They mentioned that they would keep increasing at least through next Christmas!

$8.49 for 18 today at my grocery store.
Talking with the checker and bagger, they had a sale a couple of days ago, 99 cents a dozen, they had 300 cartons and they were gone in 1 hour.
The checker next to mine said she bought 4 dozen. She was from Las Vegas and there they are $12 a dozen

Eggs are 3.49 at my local Trader Joe’s. Orange County - California

I’m very excited about this poll today.

The price of eggs by me in NW Indiana is outrageous. Tuesday, when I went to Aldi a dozen was $3.97. Wednesday, when I went to Aldi ( I forgot to buy something on Tuesday) a dozen was $4.57, so I bought them, because who knows how expensive they will be next week. Yesterday, when I was at Jewel (local grocery chain) a dozen was $5.99 (the picture below is from my store yesterday). I just can’t get over how expensive eggs are. Are these prices horrible everywhere, or just by me? Enquirering minds want to know……..

What is the price of eggs by you?
Where do you live?
(multiple choice)

*Please take a quick moment to post your price and location - I’m, and others, are very interested to know.
Thanks!

For Me…….As I mentioned above, I’m in NW Indiana, which is considered the Chicagoland area and at Jewel they are $5.99 (picture below ⬇️)

Other. No eggs at Costco today, thus “other” for price. No price on what you cannot buy.

Houston, TX
