Okay I'm having some problems. Since I have returned from my cruise last Thursday I haven't had a good nights sleep. We had cabin 2075 which was quiet but it had a slight vibration. Between the water and the vibration I slept like a baby. What am I to do now?

Gee - It sounds like you're just going to have to book another cruise - QUICKLY!

Radio shack has a sleep machine that makes noises and can be set to run for a specific amount of time. I think one of the noises is ocean. Tapes are available at some stores for a radio-tape player that have ocean sounds on them.

I always considered the slight movement I experienced to be a nostalgia thing. It happened to me after skiing every Saturday when I was in High School. Experiencing movement after the cruise was familiar in a way.

I also suspect that some of what you are experiencing is the let down of the trip being over. Taswira has a point. Plan another cruise. Even if it is way in the future, it will be something to focus on.

I swear by my white noise machine...I have a snoring hubby, and it is a marriage saver! It also simulates the sound of having a stateroom near the engines. That's one reason I love being aft. 5650 is in a great spot where you can hear "white noise" from the engines that lulls me right to sleep. Between that and a slight rock when the ocean is cooperative, I sleep like a baby!

Hey, we have one of those for our baby. Now that she's sleeping great at nights, I can bring it to our room...

BARB: Tell me more about your white noise machine. Where did you get it and what noise choices do you have? All I have been able to find is the aforementioned one from Radio Shack. I suggested it to a friend for their baby who is a LIGHT sleeper. They have a tape of nature sounds they are going to try. Maybe a machine like yours would be better.

THANKS

We've used white noise machines for over 20 years for adults and kids and we swear by them. Took a travel model on our first cruise last November and will take one on our 7 day western this Thanksgiving. Target sells one by Homedics for under $20 and one is in every bedroom in our house. The Homedics model has several different sounds to select. All our grown children now have them in their homes. We couldn't live without them!
