Hi. We are considering switching from Bonnet Creek to Pop or ASM bc of free dining.

Is it difficult to sleep at these resorts due to noise late at night? What is a "quieter" area to request?

We will be traveling with little ones that will need a good nights sleep to have a good day...
Thanks

We have stayed at Music & Movies during very busy times (July) and haven't had any problems at all. Of course, facing the pool you will have some noise, but even that wasn't bad. Just ask for a room facing away from the pool, or a quiet section and you will be fine!

Stayed at POP with a 9 month old at never had an issue with noise disturbing him. We stayed in the 50's section, back side of building 2, which had a view of Epcot...we watched the fireworks from the doorway of our room.

I have stayed at every value resort and have never had a problem with noise and sleeping. I am a pretty light sleeper have slept like a baby. We always go with a crowd and book 2 or 3 rooms per trip and I've never had anyone complain about noise including my son and DIL who were with us last year at ASMu with a 4month old and a 2 year old.

I don't think you'll have any problems.

While I'm not a great one to ask because I've slept on sand, rocks, grass, etc. with artillery, gunfire and the like going off around me... I asked my DD8 who always seems to sleep well there. She tells me that except the "turbo toilets" noise is not an issue.

Of course, we are normally so tired that either our heads hit the pillow and we fall asleep or we fall asleep and then our head hits the pillow. We're not really sure.

I have had some issues with noise at the All Stars Resorts. I have even heard the noise from the pool when I was located in a room on the other side of the building. Due to the concrete floors and outside hallways, I think they are a bit noiser. With all of that being said, we always take a fan to block out all of the noise or possible noise. I wouldn't keep the possibility of noise from keeping me from staying there, it's just good to be prepared for it.

There is an adapter for your ipod/iphone so you can play it through the alarm clock speakers and if you have an app for white noise, you're all set. We were at an end room away from the pool and near the lake and it was very quiet.

I stayed at All Star Music and requested a corner room on the top floor to minimize traffic outside the door. I only had neighbors on one side and the back also helping keep my room quieter. Other than the main pool area the rest of the resort overall is pretty quiet and relaxing. I'd stay there again.

If you have a serious sound issue then a value is fine but ask for a top floor, far away from an elevator and as far away from the main building as possible. Not only will it be quiet you may not even see another person... We use to stay at pop all of the time and the worst we ever heard was a periodic door slam and we use to stay next to the main building facing the Hippy Dippy Pool.

We've always stayed at values facing pools and have never had a problem sleeping. I'm usually a light sleeper, but being in the parks all day tuckers me out so bad, all I can think about is sleep. :thumbsup2

We've stayed at Pop ad Sports. At Pop facing the courtyard, kids were playing after midnight and we had a neighbor you would let the door slam every time they came in and out and they were active very late. But at Sports we had a parking lot room and it was very, very quiet.

I've never had a problem with the noise. :) Most people I guess try to be courteous when it is late.

I'd recommend switching without a doubt!

Ive stayed at POP several times and yes it can be noisy. A few trips we have faced the bowling pin pool and while it wasnt that bad, there is sometimes noise that you can hear from in the room.

Last years trip we stayed in building 5, 1960s facing away from the pool, but we still heard some noise early morning and late night from people running by and kids yelling, etc. This is honestly why I am leaning on switching our trip this month to CBR instead, i just stayed there with friends and it was silent.

Our first stay at pop we did for 2 nights only because we had neighbors that were slamming there door over and over again. But they were only there for 2 nights. We never heard noise other than that.

We've stayed at 3 of the 4 values and we've never had a problem with noise. We never get a preferred room though. We always end up on the back side of the building though, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

According to the Unofficial Guide, the value resorts are actually rated as more quiet, possibly because the doors have to be thicker and have weather stripping because they open to the outside. My kids have never had problems sleeping. I have never had trouble with outside noises, but I have heard neighbors flushing (I like the turbo toilet description mentioned above). You can request a room away from the main areas, and it will be very quiet!

I will be the dissenter. We spent 4 miserable nights in July 2010. We had a room facing the pool and it was LOUD all night I hardly got any sleep then entire stay. We were so grateful we had a split stay off property for the last 3 nights which was so much quieter. We have now stayed at OKW and CBR and both were very quiet.

If quiet is important I would request a quiet room NOT facing a pool.

I have stayed at both All Star Movies and All Star Sports. We never had a problem at All Star Movies, and only had 1 issue with a neighbor at All Star Sports. They had 3 rowdy kids screaming.. but as soon as I went next door and asked them to quiet down they did. I didn't find it hard to get a good nights sleep at all. :)

Any room by pools will always be the noisiest, with that said we have rarely had noise issues. I have found that when we stay at the deluxes with the interior hallway it seems to be more noisy then the resorts that has the outside door. Like a PP mentioned, it is because the outside doors are insulated and that cuts down the sounds. If staying at POP I heard to request the rooms facing the lake or on the backside of the buildings.

We stayed one night at Pop for the start of our trip in 2008. Only preferred rooms were left and we got one directly facing the pool. It was loud.
I am not a light sleeper..but actually falling asleep is my issue. If there is any noise I can't get to sleep. Earplugs did the trick, but I had hoped I wouldn't need them. I did.
