Sleeping 4 in a studio?

We are staying at the Beach Club for 2 nights before a cruise in June. It was originally my son and his friend in one studio and now my to nephews are joining us. I know 2 will not want to sleep together on the sofa bed. Will they bring in a cot if I request one--or will we have to request extra blanets for someone to sleep on the floor? Since it is a week-end I do not want to use 64 more points for another room.

Also an unrelated question. Where are the laundry facilities at the Beach club? Are they in the Villas?

DVC does not have roll away beds or extra cots. I would bring an airmattress from home for one of the young people. It will be quite crowded though. A 1 bedroom might serve you better, because there would be significantly extra floor space in there, and you would have the washer and dryer in your room.

You appear to be staying at the BCV, not the BC.

There is a laundry room for the BC located in the BC and a laundry room located in the BCV for the BCV. Two separate locations and resorts.

So, you will have four in the studio? What about the others? Where are they staying? Is your entire party staying in the BCVs or the BC?

We had a studio for my husband, younger son and myself, a studio for my parents and one for my son and his friend. When my brother's family decided to join us on the cruise I booked an extra studio for 3 of them, but the other 2 teens would have to go in with my oldest son--already way too many points, because it is a Fri and Sat. My mistake we are at the Villas. I suppose one of them can sleep in with my parents, but won't be crazy about the idea. That is the thing I hate about the studios---they don't REALLY sleep 4 unless you have younger children.

Since the bed config in a 1 bedroom is the same, I can't see wasting the extra points.

Would you consider changing everyone to OKW studios, if available? They have 2 queen beds. Of course, if you booked BCV for Stormalong Bay, that wouldn't work.

If you've ever slept 4 in a regular hotel room or WDW hotel room it won't be any different than that. But no cots are supplied with the DVC rooms.

No, we wouldn't conider changing--everyone wants to stay at BCV.

The size of the pull out does not seem the same as a regular hotel bed to me, and having slept on one was not very comfortable--especially for 2 18 yr old boys.

If you're staying on points I doubt that Disney will provide extra blankets for sleeping on the floor. Whenever I make a reservation (for 5 in a 1 b/r) they always say that no extra bedding will be provided. Personally, I would bring an air mattress and a sleeping bag and have the boys trade off sleeping on the floor.

The sleep sofa is a full size mattress, not a queen like the bed. So a tight squeeze for any 2 adults, not to mention two 18 year olds. Aero bed would work...

The BCV studio DD and I stayed in last month had a new sofa bed and was lots more comfortable than the older ones, according to my DD, age 22. I also doubt if 2 18 year old boys would be comfortable sharing it.

We didn't have blankets or pillows for the sofa bed and called housekeeping. We asked for 2 blankets and 3 pillows as DD gets cold with just one blanket. We had to call twice but they ended up bring 4 blankets and pillows. We just put the extra ones in the closet.

We recently fit an air mattress nicely in between the sofa bed and the balcony door/wall at BCV.

I think I read in a previous post that the sofa beds at BCV are new. The sofa bed we slept on at BWV was very comfortable I have to say. Why wouldn't they want to sleep on it if only for 2 nights? They'll probably find it alot more comfortable than the cruise ship bed....

The boys are tall, so I think it will be a tight squeeze. Glad to hear the sofa beds are new. I think I'll just let them fight over who has to sleep in with the grandparents.

We did book on points, and I hate that they won't give extra bedding. We always need extra blankets because someone is cold, and have had the same experience with begging because the right bedding wasn't there. Oh well-- it is only 2 nights. We are sailing on RC Mariner since the Magic will be in the Med and they are supposed to have new bedding onboard--I wonder how comforatble that will be.

The air mattress would be great if I wasn't flying there and a terrible overpacker when we cruise. RC has this one pool towel per person rule, and I am trying to figure out where I can stuff extra towels--anyone know where I can buy cheap ones in case I have to leave them behind?

Have you considered shipping down a box with the stuff that you don't have room for? You could ship an air mattress, towels, food....whatever. Then, either ship it home or just leave it behind. Or have the nephews bring their own air mattress if they don't want to share a bed.
I have to say that your nephews should be feeling terrific about a stay in WDW, at BCV. The sofa beds are very comfy, in fact I slept on one without folding it out. I'm 5'8" tall and I found it to be quite nice.

We stayed at AKL the night before our cruise last August. My kids are 17 and 12 and, for obvious reasons, won't share a bed. Not to mention the fact that they are used to having a double bed alone at home. I took an aerobed with us along with a Priority Mail USPS box preposted to ship it back home. Worked great.
