Skills Testing in Phy Ed

Only because you can't seem to see the other side of this .

Nope...I totally see your side...the other side believes that there should be skills testing in Phy Ed...I can see how people feel that way..

MY FRUSTRATION stems from being told that I want it both ways because I am happy that my DD did well on the running test. I still don't believe they SHOULD be tested on Skills, BUT in reality they ARE, so that is where my happiness for her grade comes in.


Please tell me that makes sense to the other side of the arguement.

I learned leadership from my family.
I learned how to stay healthy from my family.
I learned nutrition from my family.
I learned coaching skills from my family, dance teachers, music teachers and some coaches.
I learned how to plan and run events fromo my family.

Unfortunately, the FAMILY as an institution of society no longer takes care of these things which requires the education system to take over. I'm not saying that this is in every case or you personally, but it is a big enough problem that teachers are now responsible for it all (we can add sex ed in there too).

And that's why teaching has become such a difficult profession, it's no longer about "just teaching the basics"
