Yah, right!!!! :rotfl2: I've been to that park several times since it became Six Flags...and MANY times before that when it was Riverside. He's got ALOT of work to do if he thinks he can change that into a "Disney Experience". :rotfl: :lmao:

I WOULD love to see it improved -- but Disney it will never be. It's filthy. Really bad layout since they kept adding to it as Six Flags. And I'm not crazy about the cliental at that park at all. Line cutting is horrible -- even in the kiddy lines. lol

We live less than 10 minutes away and we have been to WDW more times than we have been to Riverside Park and Six Flags combined. In fact, I haven't been at all since it became Six Flags and probably hadn't been to Riverside for about 5 years before that. DS had a season's pass last year and went twice. So much for the "Disney experience". :confused3

I don't see how they can change that park or any Six Flags into a Disney experience. These are amusement parks. A totally different thing then a theme park.
When I lived in CT I went to Riverside many, many times. I don't think it's changed much since way back then.

Wanna know what our family calls Six Flags???? NOT DISNEY!!!!!

For example, someone will say "Hey, want to go to Six Flags?" and I'll say "Oh, you mean Not Disney?"

I hate to say it though... Six Flags amusement parks are much better for the thrill seekers. I like Disney for an entirely different reason though. The atmosphere and the level of showmanship and the ability to recreate a specific environment with uncanny accuracy... it's just unparalleled in the entertainment industry.

Six Flags still is only a day trip... Disney can last more than a week... just a greater variety of things to do! But I still love both parks.

EDIT: Added this link so you can ride my favorite ride from Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ... Kingda_Ka!

My husband grew up near Six Flags in New Jersey and spent a lot of time there as a kid. Now that he lives here, we've gone to Six Flags New England twice and he's not a fan. When we're in New Jersey this summer he's planning on taking me to the one there so I can see how much better it's supposed to be.

As I kid, I loved Riverside, but Six Flags New England isn't the same.

Up they said he was going to do this when the take over was announced. We weren't going to get season passes this year to SF America (40 min drive). But for $45 advance purchase and this change it's worth it to just see what happens.

Here they just need to keep the rides up and running with proper staff.

We do many trips for just a few hours at a time before or after doing something else for the day.Our water park is part of the regular park so it's easy to hit a few rides and a quick dip to cool off for the day.

Kimberly. I agree. I love a good thrill ride! This particular Six Flags just really needs a good do-over!

By the way...Six Flags season passes can be used at all of the Six Flags locations, not just the one where you purchase it - unless the new owner decides to change that, but I doubt it. So if you'll be traveling to any of the areas where there is one, it's probably a good buy. We're thinking about getting one, especially for next year since we're hoping to head to Texas and NJ next summer.

I agree that Six Flags NE is a dump. I really wanted to go to Disney next month, but it was too expensive, so instead I am taking a 4 day trip to NJ and going to that Six Flags for 2 days.

Hope I'm not dissapointed :teeth:

Yep when I was playing Paintball I always took my pass just incase we had some down time.
Did Chi-town once and Magic Mountian several times and just paid for parking. You really can't beat that .

Just be careful when you go to the one in NJ. On the weekends you can wait up to 3 hours for a ride... almost midway in between New York and Philadelphia, it gets EXTREMELY crowded on weekends, and the park management doesn't limit the number of people in the park it seems.

To truely enjoy Six Flags Great Adventure, you have to go during the middle of the week... otherwise it's constantly crowded.

Skip the safari too unless you have a rental car... the monkeys will literally rip your car apart.

Six Flag Great America in Chicago is pretty decent, plus they just added a Water Park. I agree with crowd control-they never limit the amount of people left in. The best time to go to Great America is the middle-end of June. July, August is packed mainly because they give out free passes to kids 12 and under who read a certain amount of books over the winter. I've seen ride times at 2 hours from the posting time and people are still lined up beyond that point.

If you're heading to Arlington,TX then go for it. Astroworld in Houston,TX closed down this last season :( We had season passes last season and I'm dying to go back.

Anyone been to the San Antonio one? We'll be there in August and I either want to visit Sea World or Six Flags one day.

Hey, more power to anyone who wants to improve the Six Flags parks! It'll take some time and some serious money but I guarantee that we'll go back if some changes are made and I bet that a lot of other people would too.

Been to both SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio - both are fun, both have small water parks inside the park - whichever one you decide on remember to bring your swimsuits. If you've ever been to a SeaWorld park I'd opt for Six Flags.

Six Flags new CEO sounds like a pretty bright guy...nothing wrong with trying to reach for the top, IMO.

Yes, I've been to Sea World before.
Thanks for the info.
We're staying at the Marriot RiverCenter. Is one closer then the other?
