????? Six Flags evokes Disney ????

I don't think there's anything wrong with his statements about improving the Six Flags parks. Remember, Disney used to be the standard everyone else aspired to.

He's probably right regarding the coaster decision, too. Not everyone is looking strictly for thrill rides at any amusement or theme park.

I only went to the park when it was Riverside. I have been to Six Flags over Georgia (which is a dump IMHO) and Magic Mountain in California - which I really enjoyed.

Of course, nothing beats WDW in my book! :teeth:

Yes, I've been to Sea World before.
Thanks for the info.
We're staying at the Marriot RiverCenter. Is one closer then the other?
Your hotel is a fairly good distance from both parks but it's not that big a deal. San Antonio is a pretty easy city to drive around in. Be sure to go to the visitor's center on Alamo Plaza (a short walk) and get some good maps and instructions from the people that work there. There are also regular tours to both parks that leave from Alamo Plaza and include tickets and transportation if that would appeal to you. Again, the visitor's center (or probably your hotel) should be able to help you with all of that. :)

every year i usually make it to six flags Great adventure, i do love rollercoasters, and that what i am only there for. I never get that warm welcome feeling, nothing. Every time there, i see some really gross things, people littering everywhere, and line cutters. Wow and what you guys are saying about the other six flags! is great adventure the best one out there?
I am always praying that the rumors would be true one day and disney would buy great adventure....but no luck... ;)

Thanks so much for the info. I'm not sure we are getting a car, so that info is a plus!!

Skip the safari too unless you have a rental car... the monkeys will literally rip your car apart.

Guess you haven't been there in awhile, the monkey's are now no longer able to get near your car. They are behind wire.

oh, too bad... that was the fun part;)

i guess they had to many complants.....or people killed to many monkeys! :scared1:

We live about 1.5 hours from Six Flags NE. Last october was the first time we went since it has been 6 flags. The only reason we went was because his company picnic is there is it costs 10.00 for each of us to go... If it wasn't for that, we probably would not go. Will we be going again on 10/1..but only because it is his companies picnic. :cool1: I don't think it's worth 49.99 + tax adults, and I forget what the kid price is.

that's pretty funny. i went to college and live 35 min away and my boyfriend's parents live 10 min down the road and i've never had the urge to visit that six flags. apparently before it was six flags it was some small amusement park. my boyfriend's step-dad said the waterpark was ok.

You have no Idea how far they are taking this Disney thing :lmao:

I'm sorry, but they are the LAMEST attempt at Justice League characters!! UGH! Even at Universal the characters are better portrayed. It's just my opinion. However the 3rd one from the left is kinda cute! ;)

I think those characters are a good start. It's hard to portray superhero characters well I think.

Six Flags' greatest strength is the Looney Tunes characters IMO. That's just a goldmine waiting for someone creative.

As I said, it was just my opinion, but you are correct. It is not easy by far portraying a comic book character.

I also agree with you about the Looney Tunes characters. If someone took off with that....WATCH OUT SIX FLAGS! I CAN HEAR THE MONEY MACHINE TICKIN'!! :yay: :yay:

My favorite character by far in all of toontown (remember that?) is Sylvester the Cat. If they EVER do him and his buddies justice, I'll be clamoring at the Six Flags gates demanding to be let in. I'm telling ya, you're so right about that money machine. :teeth:

It's been well over 10 years since DH and I have been to Six Flags, but I remember how popular those Looney Tune Characters were back then! As a matter of fact, I have a pic of Daffy and myself with a collage of other pix from Six Flags in GA. I remember the Batman Stunt Show. It was WILD! Again, the portrayal of Batman wasn't the best, but the cast member playing him was EXCELLENT with his stunts and I'm sure that's what he was hired for!

Yes they had Sylvester ,Foghorn,Daffy, and a few others walking the PArk all day .They were out in force. They also had Batman and Robin in GC.The Super hero costumes Dw & I commented on seeing things we should not be that close to and seeing (Flash was real bad at one point).

The only one I really saw interacting with some people ( besides the pose for a picture) was daffy he was messing with everyone. Most were just walking and waving .But like I said they were all over the Park and at Meet & greet places as well.

Also some of the shows were up and running but the main ones (batman stunt, dance show ) don't start until May 27th.And didn't check or here about the fireworks.

They also moved or removed some of the rides and had a new one Laid out in the back couldn't tell what it was the cars were in a spot we couldn't tell but it was a rail track from the looks of it.

I agree that the Six Flags parks are kind of dumps; they're filthy and really are just kind of there.

I've been to Great Adventure, Magic Mountain (both of which we liked, they had great coasters), and Six Flags America (right outside of Washington, D.C., which was a dump).

It's a shame too; if they used all their Looney Toon rights and themed the parks, even just a little, they'd be so much better off!
