Sitting in my condo at Windsor Hills...

We arrived last night at about 9pm. I'm up early because I'm too excited to sleep!

What I love about the condo:
-Check in took all of five minutes, and we didn't even have to get out of the car. Just pull up to the guard shack, show them our reservation form, they give us a parking tag and we go in. Our condo has keyless entry, so one less thing to keep up with (or lose!)

-Having two bedrooms is awesome. Bathed the kids right away and put them to bed. Then I started unpacking everything and getting us settled into our home for the week while they slept. No need to tiptoe in the dark.

-Not that we really cook much in the condo, but having a kitchen at our disposal is so helpful, especially with kids.

-We already had some dirty laundry from the long drive here that we just tossed in the washing machine. We'll be able to wash our sweaty clothes here and go home with clean laundry!

-Right now I'm sitting on the couch watching the weather (hot and dry) drinking the Starbucks coffee that I just brewed using the free wifi while everyone else gets their last few winks.

What I miss about onsite:
-We got into Orlando late and were hungry, but also ready to just get into the condo. I wish we'd been able to pop over to the food court. Instead, DH had to drive down 192 and to go get us some Chik-fil-A and brought it back.
-Really wished there had been some bell hops to bring all our luggage to us. Instead, DH had to lug it all himself while I stayed upstairs withe the kids.
-I love coming back from the parks to nicely made beds. The only way that's gonna happen here is if I make them.

Glad you're loving your condo so far!! We'll be joining you at Windsor Hills on Tuesday and can't wait! We stayed there in 2008 and loved it. My husband said staying in the condo was the best decision we made. Won't do it any other way. Have a great trip!!

Thanks for this. I keep going back and forth from thinking our reservation at wh is the best thing ever, and the worst mistake ever. I love your pro's and as far as cons we never used a bell hop and didn't care for the food court. You are right about a nice freshly (made by someone else) made bed every night.

Another thing... walked through the exit of Epcot at 12:45 and the kids were in their beds snoring by 1:00.

Ah, nicely made beds. One of those double edged swords to me. Yes, I find that they are nice to come back to, but I really don't want to spend my mornings making sure everything is put away before we go out. (sometimes its more than enough to get everyone up, dressed, fed and out in time for ropedrop!).

I personally am quite happy to come back home to a bed with a a duvet thrown over it (and a load of laundry washed without having to go to a coin operated laundry room and hang around for a couple of hours while it finishes)

Some vacation homes can offer a daily maid service, but obviously that will come with an extra cost. One of the wonderful things about VRs is the extra space and usually much cheaper than an equivalent hotel room

Posts like yours make me happy about our decision to stay at WH. We'll be there July 29...can't wait. Enjoy your trip and have a safe return home.

You could have alternated and made every other trip. In this heat, DH could have used the break in the AC every few minutes.

We had the opposite problem. We are staying in the Villas at Wilderness Lodge where they sort of force you into using the bell hops. I much prefer to tote my own stuff (with the help of DH and the kids, of course).
