Anyone catch when Cody mentioned shaving his beard and yelled "it's MY body and I'll do what I want" something tells me if a wife said that to him he wouldn't be too happy

I agree! He is very particular about what the wives and girls wear, but I am absolutely not surprised that he is not overly concerned about the wives thoughts about his facial hair.

Cody is who he is, he does not really bother me. Robin does not bother, Meri is starting to be irritating, but I just fast forward through her monologues. Janelle is my favorite.

The dresses are horrible and they should have bought something off the rack. Based on the previews for next week, it looked like Meri was in a completely different dress. I have very limited experience in dress making, but it would seem to me that if you are making a mock dress, the fabric should at least be similar to the fabric you are using for the final dress. Fabric weight, texture and material type are all going to make a huge difference in how the dress will fit. It just looks like a big train wreck.

I find the whole dynamic interesting.

I don't get why the women chose to have a novice "designer" make up their dresses last minute (was it really last minute, or was that supposed to add drama?). The dresses were all awful, every one of them. Janelle looked heavier in this episode than the last, she was looking great when she did the 5k run (love her new hair color!). I didn't think Robin looked paunchy or pregnant, she actually looked a bit slimmer to me. Christine's dress was just awful. How can you fit a dress when you are totally dressed underneath it . That was odd. I agree that they could have surely just went to a dress/bridal shop and gotten something off the rack that would fit their plus sizes and fit their modesty standard . I can't wait to see what they end up with next week......

you know the finished products will look nothing like they did on the show. They will probably end up going to some boutique and getting really pretty dresses last minute. Or at least I hope so.

If you look at the previews for next week, Christine and Janelle are wearing their dresses from the dressmaker. Meri has on something different ( green dress with white jacket). Robyn's dress is ok, but I'm not sure what she was having designed.
And Christine's still looks like a medieval costume!

I thought that he would shave for sure after Robin's comment. Maybe she's not the favorite after all.


What do you think of the one daughter wearing the red dress and the black hat? I was surprised to see the bright red lipstick. Wasn't she the DD that wants to be a fashion designer?

Not sure if anyone is watching the end of season interview show tonight but for the first time ever, I am on Meri's side!

I think it is ridiculous for the other wives to tell Meri they expect her to be around all the time helping raise their kids and not go off and have adventures for herself now that Mariah is away at school. I think it is incredibly dismissive to respond to her feelings of having "something missing" with Mariah gone by saying "what you are missing is right next door...everyone else's kids!"

I'm watching the after show and the makeup is disastrous! Whoever the make up artist was for this show needs to be fired.....lol It's awful.

That said, is it just the make up with Cody? He looks like he had some kind of work done. Botox or something? I dunno but he looks the worst.

I hate to say it but their make up looks like you'd see on a corpse for a funeral service!

ITA! I was kind of pissed too! I mean, come on! She's going through classic "empty nester" issues. Kody is so nonchalant about it about "well I have all these other children"... what a jerk!

I hope Meri runs off and joins the circus!

i was thinking the same thing!!!

No matter what they say, they share a man but still have 4 separate lives in so many ways with them each having their own, separate homes. Somehow, can't see the other wives really wanting Meri to step in and actually PARENT their children. They remind me more of SILs who get together to plan joint family celebrations.

Also amazed how Robin, who has been in the family the least, always has the most to say about being separated, not being together when they were in the rentals. She was never in the same house with them--had her own home from the beginning. Also, the insights that she gives about being a sister wife, when the others who have been together for what, 16 years or more? You would think she had been in the family much, much longer.

Regardless of my opinion of the ladies as individuals and/or their lifestyle, I am absolutely mortified for all of them - wait, not all, Meri (as well as the host) looked relatively normal. What on God's green earth happened to the other three? If that were me I would still be crying after seeing myself.

EDITED TO ADD: There must be something very messed up on that particular TLC set...wasn't it on the last "Tell All" show that they all looked like they had bizarre fake tans??

Meri and her reaction and that of the others is all the evidence you need that no matter how much they claim to be 1 family they are very much 4 families.
Her nest is emptying and she's having a very difficult time with it while the others are fine. If they were anything close to 1 family she wouldn't feel it so strongly and the others would feel the losses too.

I just kept wishing that Robyn would shut up. She seems to be the resident expert on everything and it's annoying. I think she sees it all starting to fall apart and is desperate to keep it together.

Janelle is the only one who seems to be doing well. I predict that as she continues to feel healthier she will become empowered to leave this situation where she has seemed so unhappy.

So I am a little behind, and when everyone was saying how ugly the dresses were, I kept thinking that can't be THAT bad...until I watched it myself. OH MY! They were hideous. So if you are all in agreement about the makeup jobs, I can't wait to see that tell all interview! I wish I would have known it was a new episode, I didn't bother to hit the record on the dvr.

You guys have me really anxious to watch for myself today.

I have mixed feelings about Meri and will be curious to see how I feel after seeing the show. I mean, she bought into the "Sister Wife" deal from the get go. Yet, now she wants to behave like a lone wife? No doubt she's in a very tough spot though. It was hard enough when our first one went away to college last year, and we still have 2 others living at home.

There was a clip they showed last night on the "Tell All" show of Meri and the other three sitting on the couches talking about how Mariah leaving. Meri was just sobbing and I thought it was pretty telling that not a one of the other wives made any move to comfort her. I'm not a real "huggy" person but if someone I was close to was totally breaking down right next to me I'd at least hold her hand or something! What they choose to show us is probably not even close to how they truly interact with each other when the camera's are off.

I didn't see their family commitment ceremony - will try to catch a rerun. I wasn't really interested in this, but now that some of you have commented on the dresses - I'm curious!

I finally finished watching. I agree the makeup was a trainwreck! They really deserved what they got with the dresses. I suppose since they think they can design jewelry that they can design dresses as well?

I am still torn on the Meri situation. She is in a unique spot because she's suffering from empty nest, but her husband has 16 other kids and will never know what she is feeling. It seems this is the very sort of thing that makes polygamy undesirable in the first place. But she chose this, so I just can't feel that sorry for her.

At the same time though, I hear Robyn whining that everyone was there for her raising Mariah, and now she needs to be there for the others, and really I just want to smack Robyn for that!

I suppose it's that sort of thing that just keeps me watching!
