I sat and watched several episodes the other night...never really watched before. And this was my first thought too (bolded above). And with poor Truely getting sick...my thoughts were that these women are SO fixated on this guy and so busy competing for him that they kind of overlook all these children. I don't see the draw (to Kody) either . Another thing I noticed was when they did the group prayer for Truely, her sister Aspyn got all emotional and none of the sister wives comforted her...at least not on camera. To me, being in a plural marriage means you need to consider all the children as your own and I kind of expected to see one of the other wives consoling Aspyn. I feel this group is so fragmented and competing.

I'll never understand it. I think it would be fun to live on a cul de sac with other friends, or family members in the other houses, but not sharing the same man lol.

It would be nice to be a polg family neighbor and have all of those cute little kids running around. When the older one grow up, just encourage him to get a young wife and more cute little kids.

Does anyone know anymore about Kody's dad? I saw somewhere online that he actually had 3 wives-- Kody's mom, Janelle's mom and a woman names Bobbie. I wonder why we haven't seen her. They are all three listed in his obituary too.

Yes the dresses were really bad, but apparently what they wanted?? Just seems so odd. I really like Christine, but man that is an odd taste for the dress. If I had to pick one, I'd pick Jenelle's, but that still wasn't something I would want myself. I kinda thought it was funny when Jenelle brought up the 5th wife thing. She's just so practical and not afraid to step on others toes to not overlook the practical side of everything. I especially got a chuckle when she said that like the rest she doesn't foresee a 5th wife coming into the picture, but that no one expected Robyn to come into the picture either.

I also thought it was a little odd that Mariah was there...so either this was taped before she left for school or she came back for this? -Even though I didn't see Logan who lives in the same area?

I can't wait to see how the dresses turned out on next week's episode ... As of last night, they were NOT looking good at all ...

I thought Robyn's head was going to explode when Janelle mentioned a fifth wife ... And I laughed when Janelle said (and I'm paraphrasing) that they never saw Robyn coming into the family as the fourth wife so a fifth wife could be possible ... I kinda got the feeling that maybe Janelle was just trying to ruffle Robyn's feathers a bit ... I also think Robyn has become a little more vocal this year with everything and everybody because she knows that she is Kody's favorite and she definitely does not want to give up that spot to a fifth wife ... But when Kody said that he doesn't think a fifth wife is in their future but maybe more children are? ... Can't wait until the big party next week ...

I really can't stand Robyn. To me she just acts so much more immature than her age. She seems to like being babied.

I just do not see why these women could not go to a store and buy some dresses. They act like there is no clothing available for plus sized
Women.

Instead Meri "designs" a dress that makes he look like she rolled herself up in dead cow skin.

I think the whole dress making, commitment ceremony and mission statement are totally contrived because this show is getting increasingly boring.

I fast forwarded through most of this episode.

I wish they would spend more time on the kids. They are way more entertaining. Maybe the kids will revolt during the ceremony next week.

I think I'll probably tune in ... Didn't TLC introduce this family in a special one episode show of their own last year? ... It'll be interesting to see how their family functions/works vs. the Browns ...

I fast-forwarded through much of the show last night too. None of the dresses are to my taste. As someone else said Christine looks like she is going to a SCA convention. I don't know what to say about Meri's. The design might be ok but the designer said the material is basically used for upholstery. (Makes me think of the Carol Burnett show when she played Scarlet Ohara with the drapes).

Robin was going on about the other dress she found in San Francisco being not modest enough but for the life of me and couldn't see anything wrong with it. And the one she is having made looked really similar. Janelle's was the only one I thought was cute but I'm sure she could have found something similar while shopping.

Loved the dead silence when Kody mentioned having more children. Didn't see any of the wives jumping for joy over that one...

Mariah's hair was much darker brown that it has been. I honestly don't know what her real hair color is for sure. It might be a strawberry blonde but I don't know for sure. She was also all bundled up and had a big scarf on too. I don't know if she had gain some weight (not that it matters) or if she just had on really bulky clothes.

I noticed that too, but these shows were taped sometime last summer or fall..so we would have heard by now I would think.

Janelle and Meri have jobs outside the home, correct? Christine and Robyn are stay at home mothers... They all run an online business together. But does Kody have a job outside the home? I know he used to. I haven't seen the entire series but I have watched all of them since just after they moved to Vegas.
