Sister Challenge - moved to New Years Resolution in July

It really helps me to have you guys and I am glad that I can help some in return.

I agree....it's nice to have the encouragement, without the nagging!! :thumbsup2

Take care, and keep on posting!! Thanks for sticking with us!

thanks for letting me!

Something that I noticed over the last week is how you and I and a couple of others here on the boards were having a kind of lousy few days there and it was all at the same time. I didn't feel quite as bad knowing that I wasn't the only one struggling to stay positive.

I noticed that too. It is nice having the support even if it's not about dieting or losing weight. Sometimes life gets in the way and we need an "upper" just to keep us going. :sunny:

Thanks girls - are you sure you're not my sisters too?? :grouphug:

ok...enough mushy crap...off to the treadmill....uuuggghhh!!! :headache:

No treadmil last night....:( DH went to bed early...he wasn't feeling good...poor baby!
I stopped by Wal-mart on my way to work this morning....bought Jillian Michaels Biggest Loser Workout DVD's ....Front & Back...

I've read a couple of people on here who have it....honestly....what do you think??

Today...

b-fast- 2% chocolate milk....about 8 oz
lunch - grilled cheese on wheat and 1 kosher dill pickle (yum!) :teeth:
dinner - (bunco tonight) lasagna
water intake - 80 oz

excersice - none....raining and cold...this sucks!! I WANT TO GO RUNNING!!!

(dh just said if the weather doesn't start cooperating we won't be ready for the 5K in April....OH YES WE WILL!!!)

Just wanted to say what a great idea it is to have the challenge with your sisters! Keep up the good work! I keep reading these journals of people who are running or training to run and I'm so jealous! I tried to run last year and failed miserably. I am a champion stair-climber now tho LOL :thumbsup2

I just want to see if I did the Easter Challenge Clippie right.....

guess not....

ok...now i have it....

Had to pick up a sick child at school today...that was ok, because I really didn't feel like being at work anyway! (DS10 had a headache :headache: came home and slept for an hour and was fine) He and I both get migrains...they suck!! I think they are hereditary....my maternal g-ma had them, and had a minor stroke in her early 30's...my mom has them and she had a minor stroke in her early 30's....I get them...so far so good....36 &3/4 and no strokes. I worry alot about ds though...he gets them really bad...I've talked to his pediatrician and he wants to "chart" them to see what time of year they are the worst...(he thinks they are allergy related....??)

b-fast- 8oz chocolate milk
lunch - 3 fish sticks (yuck!) :crazy2:
dinner - chili dog...
ok...so the diet sucked today...i did clean house and closets....my legs are sore, so i must have gotten some kind of exercise out of it!! :confused3

tomorrow will be better. told dh we were going to run all weekend!! :cool1:

see you in the morning...i'm tired and going to bed!
nitey nite~!! :teeth:

What a lazy butt I am!! I could have worked out yesterday, but didn't. I could have run last night, but didn't. I could have worked out or ran this morning, but didn't...coulda/woulda/shoulda!!
ENOUGH!!

I told my DH that I wanted to move the treadmill out of the bedroom so I will have more room to workout. I just ordered The Biggest Loser DVD online and I already have a couple of other videos that I can (and WILL) be using until that one comes in. I also went and bought a set of resistance bands and a set of dumbell handweights (3#, 5# & 8#) We already have a sit up bench, I just have to use it.
I'm going to sign up for the March Exercise Challenge...that will motivate me to get my butt out of bed in the morning!! :rotfl2:
Oh, I also ordered a BL Workout DVD for my #2 sister....I think she'll use it...we'll see.

b-fast-8oz chocolate milk...(dairy farmers daughter!!)
lunch - chinese food...i know i know...probably worse than chocolate! :guilty:
dinner - ??
water intake - 32oz... :guilty: not a good day foodwise.

ok..more later taters!!

Wow, you ARE nice - helping out your competition by ordering her a workout DVD?

I think if you get into a regular routine of working out, it will be much easier for you to stick to. For example, you could get up earlier and do it in the morning, or do it right after work, etc. Consistency is the key, you'll get there! :cheer2:

Also, might I suggest instead of just drinking chocolate milk for breakfast, try adding some chocolate protein powder or having a Carnation Instant Breakfast drink? It will give you more energy and keep you fuller and you might be able to make healthier choices throughout the day. Just something to think about! :goodvibes

I agree 110% with what you said...about the routine of working out and about the chocolate milk breakfast...I guess it's stuff I already know, but have to be told to do it. (comes from being the youngest child!) :teeth:

I'm going to do one of my video's tonight, let 's see if i can move tomorrow! :teeth:

oh, and the competition...hey, it's a sister thing!! (she's worse than I am about working out, so we'll see what happens!)

thanks!
marie

but, i have no one to blame but myself!! (i'm not actually supposed to weigh until tomorrow)
yesterday we had a pizza party for the b-ball team that my DH coaches...pizza, cake, sweet tea!!! yes, i had it all!
back on track today...I'm rearranging my bedroom to be able to work out in there. I have time today -(gosh, instead of sitting on my 165# butt, I'll actually do something!!) then i will do one of my workout videos and go running. also, a problem I have on the weekend is not enough water intake. my DH buys diet mt. dew ( :crazy2: Yuck) and creme soda - not fond of either of them, but drink the creme soda anyway (no caffine).

I'm anxious to get the BL workout dvd....everyone on here seems to like it. I told sis#2 that I ordered it for her and she can't wait either! should be fun to compare notes and sore muscles!! ;)
also, a couple of us at work ordered some wu-long tea....supposed to be like green tea...i don't know...the girls at work think it will help us w/ the weight loss..i don't know..i've never been into "potions". That will be interesting too...we are all going to drink it, but I'm the only one with any exercise routine (running)....I'd like to see if it works...and if no exercise makes a difference on this "Miracle Tea" (yeah, i guess i'm a skeptic :confused3 )

ok all..have a great sunday and i'll check in tomorrow...unless something major happens today...like 2#'s fall back off!! :rotfl2:

I bet that 2lbs will come off quickly. I am the queen of weekend weight gain, it is usually gone by Wednesday!

Do you have Arizona Tea where you are? They make a No Carb Green Tea (either blueberry or apple/cranberry) and a Diet Green Tea that are both really good (and 0 or 5 calories). I always find it at Walgreens. That might be an acceptable alternative to sweet tea and soda. I used to have a hard time getting in all my water on the weekends, but I have gotten better about it. Start drinking it the minute you get up and everytime you eat. Pretty soon you will be so used to drinking so much water you will be parched without it.

Hang in there and don't let those 2lbs get the best of you! :cheer2:

Hi Marie!!

You're doing great. Don't get down on yourself for the 2 # gain. It happens to the best of us ;) .

I'm not sure that you're eating enough! It looks like you only eat one item per meal (and looks like nothing but choc milk for breakfast. I would definitely recommend getting some protein in there (especially breakfast) and maybe adding some fruit & veggies in there too. Just suggestions, and you don't have to do it, I just thought I'd mention it!

Take care & keep up the good work. I know you'll do it!!

Oh, and don't you just love when you get a workout doing housework (like you said cleaning closets). I love that feeling! haha

Kim...Yeah....i agree about the eating. I know chocolate milk isn't a good b-fast, but sometimes that's all I have time for. (at least I got rid of the poptarts!!) I have granola bars (the fruit filled ones), are those ok or should I get the carnation bars or something like that? or actually, we have a toaster oven here at work...i think peanut butter toast sounds pretty good in the morning.
I'm going to get some fruits & veggies today...i like celery w/ peanut butter, carrots and cauliflower...oranges and apples. man..an orange sounds really good right about now! :scratchin

I'll update WEIGH & PAY MONDAY later...sister's aren't answering their phones this morning.....hhhmmmmm :scratchin

Sis #1 - forgot it was Monday...(yeah right!) said she'd call back :confused3

Sis #2 - 183 -2 :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :woohoo:

Sis #3 (me) - 165 +2  :scared:

i'll edit it later when sis#1 gets with the program!

ETA - sis #1 called - (3/1/06) she's down 2#'s :woohoo: for her!
so, sis# 1 - -2 =178

Just wanted to stop in and say  Hi! Don't let the 2 #s get you down! It will be gone before you know it.
I agree w/ Kim that I am worried about your food intake. I think that you will lose better if you eat a little bit more, but just make sure your choices are good. I think the peanut butter & toast would be a good breakfast choice. I also have a hard time eating healthy on the weekends. It is really hard to say no to yummy foods or sometimes even to limit my intake of them  but I figure one or two mistakes here and there won't completely derail all of our hard work.

On the tea question, I don't know if there is a miracle tea out there, but I have heard many people say that drinking green tea helped them lose weight. It couldn't hurt to try a tea as long as it isn't something that you think tastes terrible. :thumbsup2

Have a Great day! :sunny:

Sis #1 never called back....bet she gained too!! :confused3 :teeth:

TOM hit yesterday....that's probably the reason for the 2# gain....at least that's what I'm going say!! :teeth:

Didn't do bad yesterday. Didn't do good either...I forgot my big water glass so my intake was about 32 oz. :( .

b-fast - egg & sausage wrap
lunch - nothing...still full from b-fast
dinner - chicken & rice
snack - small piece of cake :( (i know i know! )
resisted - large piece of cake, girl scout cookies, coke craving & whopper eggs.
exercise - does laying curled up in a ball w/ cramps count as exercise? :confused3 guess not....

i'm not worried about the +2#'s. I know it will come off. I know it will take time. I also know that I have to get alot more serious about it than I have been. I'm going to print off some menu plans from Sparkpeople and start following them. I'm also going to start getting up at 6 to workout. NO IF'S AND'S OR BUTS!! time to get serious people!! time to kick butt!! time to get mad at being overweight and unhappy!! (i wish they had a smiley that was kicking someone's butt...that would be cool right about now!!)

ok...time to get ready for work. i'm going to have a good day...how about you??!! :woohoo:

I bet after a week or two of getting up early to exercise you will be hooked! I wish I could get up early and get my workouts out of the way in the morning, but I already have to get up at 5:10am and there is NO WAY I'm getting out of bed at 4am to work out! Plus I don't have a treadmill or anything, so that doesn't help...

I'm glad to see you ate a bigger breakfast. That is really an important meal. Once you get used to it, you'll wonder how you ever did without it!

TOM does bring the gift of water weight. It'll go away soon! pixiedust:

Not a terrible day, but not my best by any means.

b-2 mini cinnamon rolls
l - 2 peanut butter sandwiches - yummy!!
d - chicken sandwich
s- 10 tostidos & rotel
s-3 whoppers
resisted - more chips & dip, more whoppers, cake.
water - 80 oz
tea - 12 oz

exercise - walk/run 2 miles :woohoo: (felt pretty darn good!!)

later taters!!
marie

and I think it darn near killed me!! :crazy2:
It wasn't much....30 minutes of a Denise Austin DVD.
DH and I also ran last night...so legs were a little tight and the lunges hurt. the crunches were what really killed me!! I don't think I have ANY stomach muscles!! is that possible??!! :confused3
ok...gotta get ready for work....gonna crawl to the shower now....wish me luck!! :rotfl2:

That is awesome that you worked out this morning! :cheer2: Keep it up and soon it will be second nature.

Mmm, cinnamon rolls sound SO good! I haven't had one in ages.

Keep working out even if your muscles are a little sore. I know it is hard to fathom, but usually it helps stretch everything back out. ;)
