I'm still debating on the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk in Chicago. I'm gonna talk to DH tonight about it some more.....I'll let you know...

HOLY COW!!!

When is the walk? That's amazing!! My old boss did that one year, and she was telling me how amazing, exhausting and uplifting it was. What a great thing to do, or even consider doing. :cheer2:

I say GO FOR IT! You will not regret it. And don't for one second think you can't do it, because you CAN! :cheer2:

Your food looks great - no bad snacking, keep it up!

PS: Update your siggie to say 707/1500. You are almost 1/2 way to your goal! I counted 120 minutes for your weekend photo-fest. :goodvibes

1) Thanks Amy for keeping me updated....I keep forgetting. sorry.
2) Thanks for the encouragement girls.....now will you both come over tonight and talk to dh w/ me....?

I really want to do this....I'm nervous....anxious....scared....all of the above....
I haven't talked to my mom or MIL about this, but I know they'd support me and be honored....and I know DH will support me....he totally supported me when I was running.....it's just that it's 20 miles A DAY FOR 3 DAYS!! And raising $1700.00 is alot of money.....ok...need prayers and PD on this one....I think it's more raising the $$$ than anything else. (NO, I AM NOT SOLICITING FUNDS FROM THE DIS!!)
If I/we do it...I'm gonna have to really kick it in gear and start training.....

we'll talk more....
marie

I TiVo-ed both Will & Grace and ER. I probably won't get to watch them until Sunday..

Whatever decision you make about the 3-Day will be the right one. Don't stress about it! Great job getting that walk in - you are at 752/1500. Halfway there!!! :cheer2:

OH, dh and i did do our 3 mile walk on friday!!! felt great too!! did it in 40 min!

ok...so today i'm folding clothes and sitting on the floor matching up socks when my photog boss calls. What ya doin? he says....nuthin major, why, what's up? Apperantly another girl that works w/ us (she's in training) told a friend of hers that she would shoot their wedding today. Well "A" gets "sick" and can't do it. She doesn't call ANYONE until 3:30, the wedding is at 5:30. She didn't even call the bride and tell her! So, me being the nice person that i am, says, Ya can't leave a bride hangin! I change clothes, put a curl in my hair, (it didn't stay) grab the camera and go. I get there at 4:30...got done at 8ish....all outside!! Ya know, I'm not complaining or anything, but - I'm very perturbed at "A" for waiting until the last minute to call anyone. You just don't do that! She NEVER did call the bride - her friend - and tell her anything! I get there, introduce myself and tell her what's up. Afterwards, the bride, groom & father of the bride all came up to me and thanked me profusely for being there and being so professional. The bride hugged me and thanked me, because otherwise she wouldn't have had any pictures at all.
It felt pretty good being able to make her day complete. (just patting myself on the back on this one)
I have a shoot tomorrow too...Spring Baseball for a local church...probably 500 kids in about 4-5 hrs..2 photographers on this one.
Anyway, i'm rambling, so i'll stop now.
hope ya'll are having great weekend and i'll catch up on journals soon.
marie :wave2:

That's awesome, you deserve that pat on the back! :cheer2: It would have been really awful if no photographer showed up. You saved her special day, way to go!!! :thumbsup2 I wish you were here to take DS's Little League photos. The photogs that did them this year really stunk. I hate the pictures. Oh well...

Do do do DO!!! (imagine trumpets playing) Super-Marie saved the day!!! You are such a good person!!

You're really doing great with the walks. I wish DH and I could get out some nights by ourselves & walk. You guys really truck along too!! :moped:

Hope you're havin a great day!!

Thanks Kim & Amy...just doing my job I guess.
Man ya'll, I'm in a BAAAAD mood today. I'm not gonna go into detail because I've got work to do, but my kids are really pushing it with me! ds is still not turing his work in at school....4 days left and he's getting 3 F's now! I was up there again this morning going through his desk and finding the stuff!! He also lied to me about some stuff yesterday...I'm just fed up!! :furious:
DD6 is so dang spoiled, she really takes the fun out of stuff. The constant whining when she doesn't get her way, and the constant fighting between the two of them has just about done me in. I told sis#1 that I was going to run away. :sad2: I'm sitting at my desk right now ready to cry. Damn hormones!! PMS is right around the corner and it's really doing a number on me!!

ok...so weigh & pay...
sis#1 - she said she couldn't find her scale!! WTH!! I said fine, 475lbs! how the hell do you lose your scale??!!
sis#2- 179 down 1lb! yeah sis#2!! (she's down 8.5 so far!)
sis#3 - 157 +1. i'm not worried about it...actually, today, i don't really care.

We're going out of town for the weekend. Going up to ILL to see family. Should be a hectic weekend. I'll try to check in while we're gone, but not sure.

later

I wish I could lose mine! I can send mine to your sis if you want... :teeth:

quickie -
ok..so i have to go up to school this afternoon for dd6 "Field Day" competion. 3 hrs in 93 degree heat...yeah, i'm lookin' good now!! (gross!!)
Anyway, I'm talking to this parent, and we're talking about kids & ADHD and stuff...(ds10 was diagnosed in K ) anyway, my ds walks up to me and gives me a hug and stuff...and this parent says "That's your son?" I said yes. He says, "He is the most polite, well mannered child I've been around! Every time he's at "Joe's" house, he is so well behaved! I can't believe you're having trouble w/ him!" I said, "Get him and his sister together in a room, you will see a whole different child!" He just laughed and again said how nice ds is. WTH am I doing wrong!!?? Am I being to hard on him for NOT doing his work? Dr. is going to increase his Strattera doseage, which is fine, I just wish I knew how to teach him. You know, the basics....do your work and turn it in...take a shower & wash your hair....brush your teeth, with toothpaste....these are EVERYDAY conversations w/ him.
Anyway, I'm feeling better than I was this morning....at least around other people, he's using good sense.

marie

That is exactly the same thing that happens to me! People always tell me how nice and polite my kids are and I can hardly believe it. I have to tell DS10 over and over and over to do a simple thing - get dressed, brush your teeth, etc. I think kids are just rotten to their moms. As long as they are decent when you're not around, you are doing something right! :thumbsup2

DD10 is the same way. At least she is not so awful in public. Of course, it would be nice if she wasn't so frustrating at home either .... Why is basic hygiene so complex to understand? YES, you do need to bath, brush hair, teeth, etc. I have this conversation EVERY day too. Sorry about the grades. Does the school have summer sessions for catching up? I discovered last thursday that DD10 never turned in the work she missed when she did the honor choir thing. WTH? You did the work, ahead of time even, and then you didn't turn it in? I don't get it. Hang in there, Marie. You are not alone!

You are awesome saving that poor girl's wedding by stepping in and taking her pics! :cheer2:  :cheer2:  Those are lifetime memories you captured for her.

Hey Marie! Sorry to hear your kids are making you crazy! Take all that negative energy and let it fuel your workout! :teeth:

You had a busy weekend last weekend and it sounds like you've got another busy one coming up. Don't forget to take time for yourself and relax, you deserve it!

Have a good week! :sunny:

My brother and I are only 13 months apart. We almost killed each other when we were young. Seriously. He threw a coke bottle at me when I was 4 and had to get like 20 stiches. I remember my mom seeing us fighting outside once and she opened the screen door..leaned out...and hollered "You get him linda...go ahead and get him!" so I did. Not that that is helpful in any way whatsoever but I do think its pretty normal. (I probably should tell you that we're great friends now, but frankly, hes pretty strange, but i love him anyway). Good Luck! maybe paxil would help? :confused3

Hell, I'm already on Zoloft!! Do ya think the dr. would let me double up?? :teeth:

Ok...so ds10 finally got all of his stuff turned in and he's only going to get an F in Math...and from what I've heard, most of the 4th grade is failing math. I've got some workbooks lined up to do over the summer, and hopefully a tutor. All of his other grades are B's & C's. I just got back from his "Field Day" at school....all water games and stuff...the kids were having a blast. It was all I could do to stay dry!! (except for sweating my @$$ off!!)

I have to talk to my boss again today...I want to take Thursday & Friday as vacation days, but she's gonna be off also. I'm already off on Friday, but I have some stuff I need to take care of before we leave for Illinois Thursday afternoon. I have Bunco tonight, so I'll be packing until about midnight. Also, I HAVE to get my haircut. It's about 3 inches too long for ANY kind of style!! And finally, we've come to the decision to put Riese (our 14 yr old Rottie) to sleep. He is outliving his body. He has lost so much muscle mass, that he looks anorexic. DH and I were sitting outside the other night and Riese went to lay down and I couldn't watch. His arthritis has gotten worse over the last few weeks, and you can tell it pains him to have to get up and down. He is getting "bed sores" on his legs from laying down all the time. Last year when we took him for his shots, the vet said he had heartworms and gave him about 3 - 5 months. He also said that his age would take him before the heartworms did. I hate to do this...I know it's for the best for Riese. DH and I agreed when we got him that when the time came, we wouldn't be selfish and make him hang in there for our sake.

m

Aw, Marie. I'm sorry about Riese. No matter how sick you know they are, it's still hard to do. :grouphug:

I'm glad things are better with your DS. Hopefully working with his doctor, and the workbooks/tutor over the summer will do the trick. Like someone else said, as long as they are "good" around other people, we've done a good job. They just know that we are always gonna be there, and for some reason feel like they can treat us like garbage sometimes.

I really hope you have a great weekend vacation. You deserve it!!
